“I, uh…” she started, but then stopped when he started circling her like that. Honestly, she did not try to be rude here explicitly. Far from it. But this guy was hella weird. That made it difficult for her, who naturally responded to confusion with a tad bit of aggression at least. That just kind of felt like a natural and appropriate response to her. Though it probably wasn’t at all.

Still though. He seemed to respond in kind, somewhat, so she didn’t feel too bad. Even if she decided to not spin to try to follow his movements, instead staying guarded for the time being. “A tad bit, yes. And I guess it doesn’t bother me. From afar. But…I don’t know. I figure if I am to almost be run over by someone, it would be someone less odd or something.” She shrugged. At the very least, she was trying to be honest here. That was probably more than what most people might managed to do in a situation like this. Though probably still not very good.

Huh? Meg wasn’t quite surprised to hear someone nearby, probably in the next booth over. That was kind of to be expected in some ways. Heck, she wasn’t even all too surprised at hearing a man’s voice. Well, a boy’s voice, really. Not exactly some kind of deep baritone that came to her ears there. Though it wasn’t entirely a bad voice, either. Not the squeaky droppings of a child. More like something that she could imagine hearing in a choir or so. So, it wasn’t as creepy as it could have been to be randomly approached by someone else.

Still weird though, since usually people did not exactly want to communicate when they were naked. Meg didn’t have as much an issue with that, but she’d kind of figured others might. At the very least, she had not expected anyone to join in, that much was for sure. Thus, she lightly sighed once they finished with this round of whistling. Though she probably wasn’t loud enough to be heard here. Unlike when she replied to the boy. “You seem to be quite the musical one. Choir or something?” It was probably just meaningless conversation, really. Not exactly the deepest thing there was. But hey, it was something at least. Better than randomly doing music with someone. Maybe.

People were silly about all sorts of things. Some were all about being shy and not wanting to go to public bathhouses for one reason or another. Others were obsessed with washing because of the new year or something. Megan found both equally silly. Then again, given that she had worked for a Pokemart for so long, she was just numb to all sorts of holidays. That was why she’d spent most of the end of last year out there doing odd jobs on the road, far away from other people. That way, she’d managed to not have to listen to these stupid songs even once.

And now, after everyone blew their loads on fireworks, it was finally time to return to civilization. Aside from that dumb day when couples rubbed their love for one another in everyone’s faces, she would be free for a good while. That was good. Meant cleaning up, too. Hence, she was hear now, properly taking care of herself. Her Pokemon weren’t, though. They’d had their stint in a lake just the other day. Crystal clear, amazing water, but way too cold for Meg. Plus, most of her boys were, well, boys. While she didn’t really mind public bathhouses, it did feel weird to bring your own boys into the booth. Though she was probably in the minority with that. Then again, she decidedly did not want to know what some of these people and Pokemon may or may not have been doing in the other stalls. Not her business. Not her problem. Instead, she just whistled a tune of her own. Decidedly not holiday related at that.

“Uhm, thanks,” she replied, slightly embarrassed as she scratched the back of her head. Honestly, she hadn’t really raised him as much as she’d been raised alongside him, so taking the credit for that felt kind of weird. On the other hand though, she did not exactly want that praise to go unused, so she patted the big boy on the head anyway before sliding off. One way or another, he had done well.

Much like the other’s dogs had, but she did not approach them without invitation. Lycanrocs were a species she did not know a lot about, but they looked fierce. Could be territorial or something. Best to only deal with them cautiously.

And best not to, if it wasn’t necessary. “Though we really didn’t do all that much. Just our job, really.” Despite her grandstanding earlier, when confronted with honest, earnest thanks she just could not help but try to downplay her contributions. That was just how she was, really. “But if you ever need help with a job again, I guess I can join if I happen to be around. Always good to work with, well, hard workers.” Her bluster gone she now realized that she was more or less bumbling, so Meg just went to help unloading as well before things got more awkward.

Good, good, things were proceeding. Still having crossed her arms, she watched the others get going with a bit of smug self-satisfaction. Then, she reached down, held onto the big boy’s mane and gestured him to follow. He did not need a lot of explanation, really. Running deterrence was a common drill. They had herded so many Wooloos and the likes on their journey for easy money that it had become second nature, really. Only now they were following a sled moving at a decent pace in the snow. It wasn’t exactly the same, but it also wasn’t too drastically different to truly cause much issue.

Thus, they swiftly overtook the others. They might have been a trio working well together, but they also had to account for an unwieldy sled filled with trainer and cargo. It was easy enough to get ahead and to the side, Arcanine’s superior nose scanning the air for threats. It did notice a group of Snovers before too long which did not necessarily appear aggressive, but even curiosity could lead to issues here. So, the big boy roared, scattering them from the road before the sled would pass.

Sure, it would not take out the Snovers for good, but that wasn’t necessary. As soon as they left the vicinity, whatever those guys did became entirely meaningless to Megan. Instead, they would briefly take care that none of the plant Pokemons would follow them or anything, before catching up to Ms. Sunshine and her three rocks again.

“It’s not from a video game, though,” she replied, giving the other a confused glance. Why would she jump to the kind of interpretation? That was usually something that old people did, in her experience. ‘Dem young’uns and their vidya games’ – that sort of stuff. Tended not to happen with young women in Megan’s experience.

Sure, this one seemed a little older than her, but she was only a bit more mature than Megan in looks. Not old man kind of age, in her opinion.
But then again, not really that much of a problem. She just shrugged. After all, she got her will here. And that smile was bright and cute. So, Megan relented for the time being, her Arcanine getting up and ready to trot off as soon as the rocks got going.

“Hey, look where you are going!” Her exclamation came swift. Maybe a bit too swiftly, for she prioritized that over getting her balance back, leading to her wildly flailing her arms to not fall. Megan was not exactly the best skater there ever was. She was just here trying this out. And of course she’d almost get run over by a show-off. Granted, as the brief dizziness cleared, she could see that he was somewhat apologizing and offering his hand for her. Which she did not take. Mostly because she was a bit irked – mostly at him dodging.

Yeah. That annoyed her the most. She’d have preferred a crash between amateurs. But from what little she had seen of his dodge, she could tell that he was way better. Hence, he also should know better, in her estimate. Hence the annoyance.
Plus, he looked weird. Like, really weird. “I am okay, no thanks to you. What do you represent anyway? That getup with a Swablu on top really looks hella weird, you know that, right?”

“Typical man. Comes in, quickly gets off the first load and then runs away pretending to go take a piss. Kinda pathetic,” she mumbled to herself as she watched the boy book it from afar. Maybe he had the right idea here, to an extent. There was still a non-zero chance that she would not get rewarded for this, either. But then again, in that case she knew how to get herself some payment anyway.

Thus, she picked up her rake once more and resumed work for the rest of the day. Unlike that weird guy, he was not a lazy bum that half-assed things like this. She would continue on with this until her minimum contractual obligation was finished. Though she did feel bad about the cow. “Poor thing, left all hot and bothered. But see, learned a lesson today. Never trust the pretty boys. They lack stamina and character, which is a pretty bad combination if you want to get your milk off.”

Of course, since she was giving the other the lead, that meant that she was ultimately in charge. Authority flowed that way. At least she believed as much, smirking and crossing her arms as she listened to the other coming up with introductions. That way, they would sus everything out before going into the task itself with minimal effort on her part, which was awesome.

The smaller, yet older woman quickly took to it, however, in a slightly wishy-washy way. Her idea still jived rather well, even if she used the wrong word in her opinion. “Sounds more like the lancer to me, not the rogue. Not like I and Arca can be all that stealthy,” she noted, laughing before giving that girl a rather powerful pat on the shoulder. “But yeah, we’ll do that and protect you and the running rocks over there.” With that, Megan would simply go and get onto her Arcanine, having learned to ride him ages ago. It did help that he was a rather big ball of floof, really. “Ready when you are, blondie.” And yes, she was determined to use varying nicknames for the other until she actually got a name.

There were few problems in this world that one could not throw an Hydreigon at and have a decent chance to resolve them doing that. Or so she’d heard. Either way, Megan made her entrance ontop of the big, three-headed dragon of darkness, blowing up snow left and right on their descent. Granted, the big boy would probably not be able to be of much help with all this since flying in this weather had been taxing already. Still, she did like to make an entrance.

Hence, winter-gear Megan – speak her wearing leggings under her skirt and a parka over her shirt, as she did not get cold easily – slid off the dragon and recalled it for the time being, brushing off some snow from her glasses in the process. Only then did she take a closer look at what she was to work with here.[break]
Three Lycanroc and one cute blonde. Yeah, that could work. She respected people with themed teams, really. Not mad respect at base, but certainly some respect at least. Hence, she gave the other an approving nod. “Hey there. I’m Megan. And we are here to help.” Her use of plural was naturally her own prompt to call out her Arcanine from its ball, the big furry ball of fire taking position next to her right away. A hand on her hip, she certainly sold her part as someone who’d come to assist those in need – though she already made up her mind to not actually enter the target Pokemart. Blondie could do that. “Need one more on the sled or want us to take some kind of saddle bag or the like? You’re here first so I guess you are the boss, to an extent.”

“True, true. Then again, I have a bit more responsibility than you, you know?” After all, he just came over to fondle some cows. That was some work, sure, but he did plan to finish within a timeframe that could be measured in hours. In the meantime, she was living here over the weekend, keeping track of stuff and, well, instructing whoever the owner got into this as well. Certainly, they were orders of magnitudes different in some ways here.

But, eh, he could take that up with the boss man. Not her issue. As long as she got paid reasonably, she never cared what others got. It was when she got crap that she got annoyed.
Thus, she left him to his cow-draining while she finished up the hay stuff. “Been here for a few days taking care of stuff while the owner’s away. Boring job, really, but pays well enough and I didn’t exactly need to hand in a resume. Just some can-do-attitude.” Briefly, she flexed her arms. Not like she had a lot of muscles, of course. Lucario had those. But she was quite proud of herself still.

Oh, look who had managed to milk a whole bucket of the creamy white goodness. Well, it wasn’t clean white like proper milk, but that was to be expected. After all, this was the rawest of raw actions. Megan for once kept her comments to herself, though, and took the bucket from him before showing him another one.

However, apparently, the boy had more looks than brains after all, coming up with two silly questions. Of course he was just going to do the milking. Who else was around to do those? She shrugged. Which also fit for her other question. “Don’t look at me for payment. I am just helping out here myself, albeit a little longer than you. I am getting paid, but I don’t know who you contracted with here. There’s a lot of jokesters around, too.” Like herself. Though she’d never cheat someone out of their earnings. Yeah, she made fun of people, but she had been the victim of too many cruel payment-related cuts to make fun of that.
But she was also not responsible for handing out the money.
