He’d come to Rustboro City for a visit, intent on taking a tour of Meteor Falls, a bit of horse riding. Maybe catch some pokemon nearby. He hadn’t taken some time off in a while and it was starting to affect him more than normal. Upon recommendation of his superiors, he’d taken off the week to chill out. Bu...he didn’t know if they would consider this chilling out. He’d somehow ended up at the wrong place, wrong time. He’d already tried to turn around, only to get hissed at by a Hydreigon. Fine… The blonde sighed through his nose before turning around to find the nearest employee. [break][break]

For the most part the place was being run by supervising pokemon more so than ranchers but…they had to belong to somebody. He began to swerve towards the barns before stopping at he found another person. He scratched the side of his face before looking at the work the young woman was getting up to. “Uh…are you…running this place by yourself?” he asked as he stepped into the barn without much protest. The fast he finished, the faster he could leave right? And he had the rest of the week to enjoy in the city anyway. [break][break]

He pulled off his bomber jacket, carefully hanging it somewhere out of the way before beginning to roll up his sleeves. His jeans were light wash, but it couldn’t be helped. If the stains didn’t come out, he could buy a new pair at some point. Blue eyes look over at the penned Miltank and he gave all the pink cows a small wave. "I’ve never milked a cow before.” He was country, but not that much.

If she had known that she was being thought of as an employee of any kind, she might have gotten angry. Unreasonably so, certainly, but that was just how she was at that time. Fortunately though, she didn’t hear that, just his casual incredulousness. Clearly, he had not been briefed. That made sense. After all, the old guy had not exactly briefed her well, either. It had just been a brief handing off of keys and balls so she could keep things running for a few days while he did who knew what. Some kind of ranger business or such. They had not been very forthcoming about it.[break]
Now that she had some assistance, it was her turn to be better than them. Or, conversely, to get her own little revenge on someone who had done nothing on her. In fact, how she reacted to this at all would be a searing indictment on her as a person no matter what choice she made, just deciding the direction of that.

Unfortunately, he asked a question that, in her eyes, was kind of silly, so his fate was sealed. After all, milking a cow was quite literally the easiest thing to get into here in her opinion. “Well, I’m just filling in for a bit,” she hence replied, before stalking towards him, then pulling him over towards the nearest Miltank. After all she’d had to do lately, she really wasn’t concerned with personal space anymore at all. At least not on this farm. “Anyway, milking’s right easy. Just grab a teat and squeeze. You look like you get enough girls or boys already, so you probably kinda know what to do anyway. Just aim it at the bucket and if the Miltank gets violent, you’ve been too rough. Pretty simple, isn’t it?”

He nodded as she spoke, before the young woman yanked him towards his task. He stumbled after her for a moment before standing upright and looking over the Miltank. He suddenly didn’t want to do this. It felt kinda weird. He felt himself blush at the assumption but didn’t dare correct her. No need to dunk on himself. “Hello….Miltank.” he said, nodding at the pokemon before rubbing his hands together to warm them up. Somehow, he felt like cold digits would upset the Miltank even more than just being overly rough. [break][break]

“So, I just… pull on the teat….and then fill the bucket and I’m done?” he asked. He didn’t plan on staying the entire time. He’d get a couple of tasks done and find a way to excuse himself. After all, he’d just been pulled off the street. He still had errands to run today. And lunch to pick up later. After he believed his hands were warm enough, he introduced himself to the pokemon again before warning it. “Ok…I’ll start now.” He said carefully grabbing one of the udders and yanking it down a bit. Gently, and slowly at first to make sure the pokemon wasn’t disturbed or upset. It didn’t flinch so he put his other hand on another one. “Are you also gonna milk or…?” he asked as he stared at his task, trying to get the milk in the bucket.

Heh. This was kind of fun. The boy looked as if he was saying his last prayers as he sat in front of the Miltank. For a few moments, it really seemed like he was about to run. Yet, to his credit, he did not. Instead he seemed like he was going to pull through no matter what. “Well, it’s a start at least. Depends on how much white creaminess you can get out of this old broad,” she eventually told him, definitely putting on a bit more crassness on this than was necessary. But then again, Pretty Boy had brought this upon himself. After all, he sounded like he just wanted to go in, do some magic with his hands and run after the first load. No point in being nice when he just wanted to leave already anyway and not help further.

Plus, he kind of did act like she was goofing off when she was giving important instructions. “Nah, I already milked some earlier.” Meg nodded towards one of the other buckets that was already filled. “I gotta shovel some hay while you devote yourself to your partner instead.” After all, the stalls had to be prepared for the night, so that tomorrow could be another nice day of milking Miltanks.

Paxton nodded along to the girl as he worked with the Miltank. The process itself wasn’t that bad but he could tell from looking at the bucket that this wasn’t the milk bought at the grocery store. It was still unprocessed. To his credit the Miltank mooed at him when she’d had enough. He looked down noting his bucket was about two thirds full. When he tried to tug the pokemon slapped its tail at him, turning to look at him as if saying ‘move along, buddy’. [break][break]

He’s quick to obliged pulling the bucket and more or less shoving it into Meghan’s hands before looking around for another one. “Right, so all I’m doing is milking?” he asked, only trying to get this process over with as quickly as possible. “Remind me, am I getting paid for this?” he added realizing he had just been pulled off the street for it. He gave the Miltank he’d milked a quick pat on the head before moving away from her. There seemed to be a dozen more cow pokemon either milked or waiting, he couldn’t tell. “I take cash, but I’ll accept digital payment too.” He added.

Oh, look who had managed to milk a whole bucket of the creamy white goodness. Well, it wasn’t clean white like proper milk, but that was to be expected. After all, this was the rawest of raw actions. Megan for once kept her comments to herself, though, and took the bucket from him before showing him another one.

However, apparently, the boy had more looks than brains after all, coming up with two silly questions. Of course he was just going to do the milking. Who else was around to do those? She shrugged. Which also fit for her other question. “Don’t look at me for payment. I am just helping out here myself, albeit a little longer than you. I am getting paid, but I don’t know who you contracted with here. There’s a lot of jokesters around, too.” Like herself. Though she’d never cheat someone out of their earnings. Yeah, she made fun of people, but she had been the victim of too many cruel payment-related cuts to make fun of that.
But she was also not responsible for handing out the money.

She dropped another bucket in front of him and he gave the Miltank he was working with a gentle pat on the back. She only mooed at his casually, not really minding She seemed like she was fine for now and didn’t really try to stop him as he rubbed his hands together again and set to work gently milking the pokemon for another bucket. As he squirted more raw milk into the bucket, he tilted his head towards his colleague as she answered him. “Well, y’know who I can talk to for payment then. And y’know how much my rate is since you’re getting paid.” He returned, pausing for a moment in his work to lock eyes with her before going back to it. [break][break]

At the mention of jokesters possibly tricking him out of his free time he muttered a low, “Bah humbug….” Before continuing his work. In a few minutes the second bucket was done. Already resigned to sticking around for a little bit more he carefully move it out of the way and grabbed a third. As he did, the miltank in front of him mooed, slapping him lightly with her tail. “You done, ma’am?” he asked before the cow pokemon gave him a small nod. “Gotcha, carry on then.” He said picking up the empty bucket and moving onto another pen. “How long have you been here?” he asked the girl as he greeted his second client of the day.

“True, true. Then again, I have a bit more responsibility than you, you know?” After all, he just came over to fondle some cows. That was some work, sure, but he did plan to finish within a timeframe that could be measured in hours. In the meantime, she was living here over the weekend, keeping track of stuff and, well, instructing whoever the owner got into this as well. Certainly, they were orders of magnitudes different in some ways here.

But, eh, he could take that up with the boss man. Not her issue. As long as she got paid reasonably, she never cared what others got. It was when she got crap that she got annoyed.
Thus, she left him to his cow-draining while she finished up the hay stuff. “Been here for a few days taking care of stuff while the owner’s away. Boring job, really, but pays well enough and I didn’t exactly need to hand in a resume. Just some can-do-attitude.” Briefly, she flexed her arms. Not like she had a lot of muscles, of course. Lucario had those. But she was quite proud of herself still.

“Sure, but work is work. I want to be paid fer mine.” Paxton countered with a huff as he hummed at the Miltank in front of him. As she spoke up again, he nodded and waited for a bit before chiming in, “He pulled you off the streets too, didn’t he?” she didn’t need to respond. Any businessman that was just allowing their employees free reign to drag whatever poor sap off the street probably did the same to get his. [break][break]

He kind of felt bad for the pokemon now but if the owner really was that stupid, they’d escape on their own. He finished the next bucket as the Miltank in front of him gave a loud ‘MOO’. “Sure, sure, next cow it is.” He said picking up the pail and moving it elsewhere. She hadn’t needed to hand out a resume, and he didn’t need to hand in his two weeks. This should be enough. Sort of. The vagueness around his pay made him more eager to leave than he already had been, but he’s calm as he set own another bucket next to the third Miltank. “Hey girl…” he said, extending his hand to the pokemon before patting the head as she offered it to him. “I’ll be right with you.” He said as he got up and began to unbuckle his pants. “Latrine break. Gotta take a piss.” He said as he began working the button of his jeans while he jogged out the door so he could turn the corner and full-on sprint his way to freedom.

“Typical man. Comes in, quickly gets off the first load and then runs away pretending to go take a piss. Kinda pathetic,” she mumbled to herself as she watched the boy book it from afar. Maybe he had the right idea here, to an extent. There was still a non-zero chance that she would not get rewarded for this, either. But then again, in that case she knew how to get herself some payment anyway.

Thus, she picked up her rake once more and resumed work for the rest of the day. Unlike that weird guy, he was not a lazy bum that half-assed things like this. She would continue on with this until her minimum contractual obligation was finished. Though she did feel bad about the cow. “Poor thing, left all hot and bothered. But see, learned a lesson today. Never trust the pretty boys. They lack stamina and character, which is a pretty bad combination if you want to get your milk off.”
