Huh. Had she said something wrong? That girl looked at her and seemingly found something much to her dislike. Honestly, Megan couldn’t tell what that was. She had seen a similar look from her manager back in the day, but it had never been this extreme. And especially not this superficial. Meg could not help but pout, while Arca just tilted its head in confusion. Neither really understood what was happening, but they could not help it, either. Some people just were that way. Usually, she was forced to endure them with a smile and still service them. These days were over, though, so she did not really have to do so in that moment.
But still, they were apparently in one of the livelier spots on this route. Maybe stomping away with a huff and a puff was not exactly the greatest of ideas. So, Meg sighed and took the compliment where she could get it, while inspecting the Pokeball with her newest catch in the moonlight. That was when she noticed a shadow looming over her. “Quick,” was all she could say in the little time they had, but Arcanine understood, rushing over towards her. And without any hesitation, she half hopped onto him, half latched to his side.
And he just ran. Didn’t really matter where, but he ran as fast as he could. For soon after, there was yet another crash, this time a Dragon Rush hitting right in the spot where they’d just stood. In a somewhat practiced move, Meg let go of her Pokemon, sadly rolling through the damp grass for a few moments. It wasn’t exactly a nice sensation. But it was better that way. Allowed her to gain some more distance and evade those three sets of eyes. For Arcanine swiftly dashed to the side, barking loudly, both Intimidating and distracting the huge Pokemon. It was bigger. It could fly. But it had come to the ground instead of Hyper-beaming them from the sky or so. That was good.
It meant they had a chance. Meg’s eyes briefly turned towards the other trainer. Big, heavy, the Golurk certainly fit the bill from before. The other had her hands full with that. “Fair enough,” she noted to herself while getting back up. Then, an order. “Extreme Speed, keep it off balance.” This was a rather tough foe, after all. Three heads came down, seeking to Crunch down on the Arcanine, but he dodged one, then another – and jumped straight onto the third, rushing up its neck. “Flare Blitz from above!” The Arcanine did jump off of the neck, only to swiftly turn in the air, using its own weight and fiery power to come down on the dragon in a way much akin to a small meteor. That was enough to push it onto the ground completely. Megan couldn’t see if that was enough to knock it out just yet. But she took no chance with that. Instead, she threw a ball at the Hydreigon, hoping that it was already weakened enough.
