“You’re dying?” There was a moment where he thought the other was joking, not dissimilar to their usual methods of messing with each other. Soon the smirk faded as he realized there was no comedy involved with this admission, forcing Leon to push himself further upwards on the bed. “You’re dying?!”

He didn’t know how to accept this news, running a hand through his hair. “I mean, how?” Why hadn’t they told him? “Is there a cure...I mean...to what's wrong?” Denial was the first step to acceptance after all.

“I figured you didn’t get all this from being in Rocket.” An inheritance made more sense, though Chu-e seemed to be living modestly considering he’d most likely been living off the money since Arthur died. “I’m having trouble picturing you being all scary, amore.” An emo version of the underboss sounded ridiculous, but there was a certain reputation among the older members of the organization that they had.

“Alright, enough of the past for now.” Leon considered his next question for a moment, glancing towards the ceiling before landing on one. “What do you see your future to be like, ideally?” Of course, he didn’t know exactly how bleak that looked.

“I didn’t know you were ticklish.” Leon withdrew his fingers from Chu-e with a devious smirk, intending to use this information against the other man at another time, for now there would be mercy. “Good point, hmm…”

There was a moment of silence as he pondered what he wanted to know first. “Tell me about your husband, then.” Normally Leon was jealous enough to not want to hear about exes, but he couldn’t possibly be jealous of a dead man, right?

“I’d rather be stabbed than be sick.” Leon chuckled, which quickly evolved into a series of coughs that he purposefully aimed away from his boyfriend. “Maybe another time, bellissimo.” He couldn’t help but notice that the other man seemed to be avoiding the divulgence of personal information, leading Leon back on the case.

“You can’t escape from this conversation, Chu-e.” A finger gently prodded them between the ribs, hoping to elicit some response. “I want to know more about the man I’m in love with.”

"You can tell me whatever you are comfortable with, bellissimo." Leon drew Chu-e close to his body when they slid into the bed, finding comfort in contact with the other. He was tempted to place a kiss on their lips as always but he didn't want to get the underboss sick, no one liked having a cold.

"I'm not easy to scare off, though. I've slept with people who have stabbed me before." A chuckle escaped his lips, looking into the eyes of his boyfriend from above. "I mean it, you don't need to hold back."

Leon couldn’t resist the smile crawling on his face when Chu-e Choi mentioned them dating, allowing themselves to be drawn back in by the conjoined hand and soft pressing of lips against his cheek. “Mhm.” Any worry about the lack of groping was washed away in the wake of romantic bliss.

“I’ve seen you before.” @ciel had a familiar face, and it took a moment for him to place where. “You’re that ghost hunting guy, right? I’ve seen your videos.” Leon didn’t like them, though that was more of his distaste of ghosts than the man himself.

“Oh good, it’s Glitch.” Leon bemoaned the coincidence underneath his breath, being dragged along towards the Gym Leader by Chu-e Choi . He was only minutes away from getting to grope his boyfriend on the ferris wheel and now he was being forced to make idle chatter instead, talk about being cockblocked. “I see you are making a speedy convalescence, sorry to hear about your leg.”

This was the extent he would provide without prompt, sipping on his Pina Colada like it was the only one left in existence while he quietly pouted from behind Chu-e. At least the sunglasses could hide his pain for the time being.

“She’ll have to get used to us being gay if she is going to be living with you.” Leon chuckled slightly, lifting the straw to his lips to take a drink of the cocktail. “We aren’t exactly subtle, bellissimo.” They weren’t particularly quiet either, reminding him that they should purchase some noise-cancelling headphones for Eris before she heard something she didn’t want to hear.

“A romantic ferris wheel ride?” The idea was cheesy, but that was exactly the sort of lovey-dovey thing that appealed to the newly found romantic in him. “Why don’t we do that? Especially the making out part, though. Don’t forget about that.” A smirk spread across his lips and reached out to take Chu-e’s hand in his own, leading his boyfriend towards the ferris wheel.

“You couldn’t smother me.” Leon smirked slightly as he took another sip of the soup, never taking his eyes off Chu-e Choi even for a moment. “I want all the attention I can get from you, bellissimo.” He scooted over slightly in the bed, using a free hand to gently caress the spot that was next to him in the covers.

“I’ll make you anything and everything, trust me.” He nodded towards the empty side of the bed. “You could get in and tell me some more about yourself.” The request was genuine, he wanted to know as much as he could about the man he chose to be his boyfriend and partner.

Chaos erupted all around him and he didn’t know how to react other than with sheer confusion and anger. “Alright, this is fucked up.” There was an almost magnetic pull that attempted to pull the saucepan from his hand, though he would maintain a firm grip on the metal. “Oh, hell no. You’re not taking my weapon.” Even as he was dragged along, Leon didn’t release the hold he had on the cast iron, hoping this would lead him to whatever source was on the other end.

“What the…” He released the cookware with a confused look on his face, seeing the visage of a teenage girl huddled beside a Meltan. “...Who are you?”

“Give me all the money in your wallet.” An object was pressed into the lower back of Chu-e Choi , someone having snuck up behind him with expert stealth. “Did I scare you?” Leon chuckled slightly as he moved around them and into their view. “I got us some drinks, I wasn’t about to spend all day on the beach sober.” A hand extended to deliver a Pina Colata into the hands of his boyfriend, reaching up to adjust his sunglasses once the hand was freed of the burden.

“I thought Eris was coming with you, bellissimo?” Leon didn’t see the adopted child anywhere around, only the plethora of plushy Hoenn Gym Leaders. “Was there anything specific you wanted to do? I haven’t been to a festival since I left Pasio. Kind of strange to be here without my sister.”

Leon met up with Chu-e.

An eyebrow cocked as the drawer in front of him started rattling with suspicious force, setting down the wine glass with a sigh. “Sprinkles, did you get stuck in the drawer again?” A hand wrapped around the handle and wrenched the drawer open, wondering if he would ever find a surface in this house that didn’t have some sort of feline lounging on it. “Che diavolo?” Leon reverted to his native tongue when there was no Skitty inside the drawer, instead watching as silverware slowly rose into the air.

Quick movement saved him from being stabbed by a shrimp fork as the utensils flew across the room, impaling the drywall instead. “Is this house fucking haunted now?” Grabbing onto a saucepan for self-defense, he started backing away from the other drawers. “Chu-e is the only one supposed to be moaning in this home, poltergeist!”

“Babe are you here?” Leon entered the doorway to Chu-e’s home, being forced to keep a few feline Pokemon from escaping through the front door when he opened it. “I brought the groceries to make you saltimbocca tonight.” He traveled to the kitchen with the paper bag in hand, setting it on the counter before calling out once more. “Chu-e?”

A quick check of his phone told Leon that he was here at the right time, was the underboss out on some errand. “Oh well, he’ll be back soon.” Grabbing onto a bottle from the cabinet he popped off the cork and began pouring himself a glass of the wine, wanting to at least be somewhat buzzed before he started cooking.

“Torchic Noodle?” A smile crossed his lips, fond memories flooding his memory as the familiar smell was wafted through clogged sinuses. “I used to make this for my sister all the time, when she was sick.” Leon dipped into the soup with a spoon, bringing the utensil up to his lips and blowing on the heated broth before taking a bite. “It’s really good.” Being able to get down any food right now was a miracle, but he couldn’t deny how impressive of a chef his boyfriend was.

“Thank you for sparing me, bellissimo.” He chuckled, remembering the last time he’d eaten the spice that Chu-e Choi was used to. “I’m sorry for getting sick so soon after we started dating. I would have loved to take you out on a proper date by now.” Alas, he could barely stand to be out of bed for long enough to go piss in his current state.
