"...Yes. If you look at me like that, then yes."

He smiled, narrowing his eyes a little.

Her insistence that she’d never hurt him pulled at him. His heart skipped a beat.

She then started to climb over him. Staring down at him, from above. Her hair fell down in ribbons, covering his collarbone. She then feigned innocence. Pretended that she didn’t know exactly what she was doing.

Pushing a knee between her knees, and one to the side. Casey thought for a minute, about flipping her over. She was here to wrestle, after all. His hair was splayed out on the pillow under his head, like a plume of smoke.

“Today might be the day that I pounce... if you keep acting up.” He settled back into whispering, when she craned her neck and kissed his face. His hands were limp at his sides though. It was an empty gesture. Nonetheless, he bit his lip and sized her up for a second.

Barely awake, he rubbed on that spot on his neck with his free hand. He blushed a little at the thought of it. It was perfect. Of course, the scariest girl anyone knew would kiss a boy so hard he had a bruise on his neck.

He smiled, pushing the back of his head against the pillow as hard as possible. Casey tilted his head back and looked into her eyes. He was melted by that sound she made.

"...Oh. Good morning, sunshine. I’d be happy regardless of what happened to my arm."

He smiled, narrowing his eyes a little.

She then rolled over, leaning on him. Her chest pushed into his. She then started to play with his hair, and get in his face to kiss him. Casey curled that arm that was around her shoulders, trying to hug her. “...Summer.” He tried affecting that tone she said his name with, so many times. That behave yourself intonation, though he wouldn’t pull away. Watching her just climb on him and be assertive made him beam with pride at her.

Sunlight filtered into the room. Into the beach home. Not only did it pour down from the sky as the sun rose, but soft, white sand reflected even more at the face of the house. A gentle breeze coming off the coast was the only countermeasure to the warmth already out and about.

Normally he felt heavy, and sluggish all the time. His one hope was that he could be her weighted blanket.

"..."

He woke up. Normally, this'd be the perfect time to spring out of bed and stretch. Covered in a cold sweat, preparing physically and mentally to lift weights. But right now, he was having a bit of a hard time leaving her.

She grunted, turning to lay on her back. Being behind her, he had an arm curl under her as she shifted. That arm ended in a hand over her stomach. He laid next to her, trying to be hip-to-hip with her. He whispered to her, with the same fry and barely-awake tone of a car idling. “Did you sleep well? I'd be happy rolling around this bed with you for a while. But if you'd like, I could head downstairs and start coffee for us.”

Creeping off to the side to the garden was oddly calming. The sight of plantlife, no matter how opposed to animal and human contact, put a smile on his face. The bramble patches looked life-giving. "..."

A little thing crept out the back door. Just small enough for a creak to not come out.

Casey was stunned momentarily by a Fake Out. A sharp growl by his companion kept Impidimp frozen like a deer in headlights. Casey offered a treat to the thing, trying to make a peace offering. "..."

To her credit, she did just that. Took what she wanted. The two were left splayed out across the bed afterwards, both radiating heat.

She inched a hand across the bed, slowly finding his. He’d slide his fingers between hers for a moment, offering a gentle smile. A single tear rolled down his face.

"...I’ll always be yours."

He said, with the kind of vocal fry and low rumble of someone who just woke up from a nap, or a car starting on a winter day.

With his other hand, he reached over, rolling onto his side. He attempted to roll her onto one side, an arm going over her collarbone. He curled around her like one of her blankets. With a leg movement that could be construed as grinding his hips into hers and a little hand gesture, he rolled the bedding over the two of them. He seemed oddly determined to keep her warm. “Goodnight.”

“...You don’t?”

He said, a little surprised. The two had faster bouts in their little tug of war. He wasn’t the competitive type. Casey stared a little, as her legs shifted.

He seemed to enjoy putting his hands on her soft skin. Suddenly, she flexed one thigh like he did earlier. He did the same, rolling with her so she’d land on him again. Hands fell on his chest, and his elbows fell to support his back and core muscles. And then, she started to pull off that hoodie.

"...If you’re so desperate, then take what you want. I already got what I wanted when I saw the most beautiful girl I’ve ever seen look down at me."

He said, eager to see where she’d go with this.

She then bit at his neck. At the span of muscle between his neck and shoulder. A small blood vessel burst, leaving a mark. A round spot where his skin was a dark blue, like the skin of a plum. He blushed when she started talking again. “Good. I’m glad that you feel alive, after all those times that I made your heart skip a beat.”

“...As peaceful as this is, there’s still something.., restless about it. You’re not in any rush to sleep right now, are you.”

He said, now trying to play innocent. To try and get her to dig in her heels and be assertive again.

Because he had fallen on the bed, she could certainly feel his chest atop hers, rising and falling with sharp breaths. Pads of muscle expanding slightly.

"...Some other time, then. Since you like playing dress-up, I’ll have to buy you a tracksuit, or something."

He said, hands sliding back up. They landed just shy of her shoulder-blades. Hearing her small gasp left him beet-red in the face. He didn’t know whether to keep pushing her or not.

His answer came when she said his name as if she was warning him. He giggled, taking it as an invitation to act up a little. His hands went down, this time trying to go under that bulky jacket, and just sit on her hips. She held him to her neck, prompting a kiss slightly closer to her jaw. He was close enough to be able to whisper. “...Summer.”

“...Miss Summer Prescott. I came here under the impression that I’d tuck you in, and crash on the couch. And you’re trying to wrestle with me on the bed.”

He said, feigning surprise as he noticed her knees going over his hips. He slowly lowered his hands to the sides of her abdomen. The obliques.

Because he took his hands off the bed, he more or less fell onto the bed. He snickered a little, then paused to breathe for a second. He then moved his head back, to resume eye contact.

"...If you’re gonna have me hold your legs, you should take the opportunity to do some crunches."

He said, digging a thumb in and trying to tickle just under her ribs. It’d be so much easier to wrestle without that bulky hoodie in the way, but how would he go about saying that? She played with his hair. It felt... like something she’d have to really pull on. It was thick and prone to tangling, due to both genes and an overabundance of conditioner.

He then saw fit to return the favor from when they were alone together at the soiree. He leaned in, and planted a kiss on her neck. He lingered for a second, and she’d feel something like a bite. He pulled away and tried to sit upright, leaving a red mark. Something like... a small, vestigial blood vessel popping. “...”

The door continued to creak open. By now, it was wide open. No light emitted from the doorway.. "..."

A little thing crept out. Just the sight of it was kind of upsetting. A baby wearing an adult’s skull.

Casey held a hand to the claw of his Garchomp, leading the two to the side, then to what looked like a garden behind the haunted manor. A back door hung open. Even if it was all thorned brambles, the sight of it was calming. "..."

Thinkin' of a few / Taboos that I ought to kill

He was rattled to his very core. The mist left everyone lightheaded. The three of them were stuck in a cloud together, very briefly.

Casey saw things corrupt in a way that he couldn’t even be reasonably expected to fight. A series of big losses and small humiliations. His field was wiped out by a Pine Tree’s disease. The mangled, bleached corpses of his orchard stood there, mocking him on bone-dry soil. He gets older. Their daughter more or less stops calling altogether. He starts getting to the age where he’s outliving his friends, on account of just being in great health.

In a desperate bid to numb this feeling rather than confront it, he finds himself compulsively drinking. Hunched over, glass pinched between three fingers like a bowling ball. In that same dark place Danny was in when Casey singled him out at the Soiree. Summer being unable to bear looking at him. His head feels like it weighs a million pounds. Alone again.

He’s grounded by footsteps. Danny walking away. It looks like he’s disappearing into the mist, but in reality, he’s leaving. Leaving him alone with his feelings. The right thing to do, but it left Casey’s stomach churning.

Casey bit his tongue. He saw Summer trail off, only to be confronted with a scene of her own as he follows her. He’s unable to intervene. More or less watching her be confronted by her father. After a night of drinking and bawling, he opted to hug her from behind, arms curling around her shoulders and collarbone. Words fail him again, but he looks oddly... grateful. Not quite the jovial drunk he was, but smiling despite being glassy-eyed. Despite being on the brink of tears. ”..."

“Oh, I’ll get there. Eventually. I have my hands full right now.”

He said, as she wiggled a little. He didn’t know that she was even wearing underpants. But as he said, his hands were full. Holding her, just below the shoulders.

The two of them locked eyes, in dead silence. She then obscured her face and laughed, as he turned away for a moment. Then came her playful taunt.

"What’s wrong, cat’s got your tongue?"

He responded, smirking at her. He took the top position, knees planted on the mattress so he wouldn’t fall on her. His hands remained at her sides, though his knuckles were against the mattress as well. Her legs caught his hips, and her hands sat behind his shoulders, in the way that he held her a few times now.

He then slowly bent his elbows, lowering himself so that his chest would fall on hers, and he’d move in more or less to kiss her lips. “...”

“Thanks. It's a shame I didn't get to see yours.”

He said, eyes following her as she went up. Propped up on one hand, staring down at him. He was still in that unfortunate space he was in, too muscular to do the swimmer bod thing for magazines, but not quite "big" yet. She then sat up, in his baggy sweatshirt with bare legs sticking out.

She looked him over, and then opted to tease him a little. He smiled, tilting his head back and staring into her eyes. They radiated with this... warmth and zest for life. He envied her, as much as he loved her. He started to blush a little, and turn away.

"I'm only giving you all these weapons because I know how to fight unarmed."

She rolled over, climbing onto him and leaning forward. Her body was pressed against his, hands tracing his jawline. His arms grabbed just under her shoulders. A quick glance to the side let him know that they could wrestle on the king-size mattress all they wanted. He had one leg remain still while the other pushed down against the mattress. He tried rolling the two of them so that he'd be ontop, knees then parting to avoid falling on her.

He then kissed her neck, just below her jaw. “That way you looked at me just now... I could get used to that. You're so cute.”

Casey then thought about it for a minute. Sleeping in a button-up shirt and cargo pants. There'd be all kinds of indentations on his skin when he woke up. Then, selfishly, he glanced away for a second.

“O-kay, I'll try to behave myself...”

He said with a snicker, as she closed the door to the adjacent bathroom behind her, having kicked off her shoes. He turned and bolted out of the room, looking for something that screamed "boy room".

She gave him too much leash with her offer, that anything in the house could be his. She'd have to punish him later, of course. He ran across the hall, pushing his way into something similar. A room clearly tended to in their absence, with what looked like a drawer tucked in the corner. He rifled through it, and held up what he was looking for with a smile.

His shirt and shoes were compacted into a neat pile in the corner of her room, with his bondage pants folded on the edge of the bed in Knox's room. A pair of black denim pants with real pockets and superfluous straps all over, intended as a gift. It'd be slightly too big, but he could make it work with a belt.

By the time she opened the door, he sat on the edge of the bed. He wore a pair of black gym-shorts, and little crew socks with Pikachus printed on them. The hem of the pantleg stopped in the middle of his thighs as well, clearly a size too small. They were just barely longer than the Pikachu-print boxers he wore underneath. Shirt set aside on the floor, folded into a square.

She twisted and fell onto the bed, then splayed her arms out. Casey followed her, hair falling all over his face. From what he could still see, there was something endearing about her more or less donald-ducking in his sweatshirt. He then said something he said to her at the Observatory. “And what makes you think I'm gonna stop you? When you look at me like that, you can do whatever you want to me.”

Their landing was smooth, just slow enough to spare the two a cloud of dust. Casey followed her, before stowing away his Charizard. A red beam tucked the thing away. He'd only had two other pokeballs with him, and thought. If he was staying the night...

“...After you.”

She walked up to the door. Casey followed, peering over her shoulder as she pushed in the keypad combination. The door clicked, then opened for them. She then flipped the light, and the building lit up.

He could live with this. Had to cling to it, too. He knew if he managed to lose her, he'd be a shell of a man, knowing that she's still out there. He thought about Danny dejectedly drinking for a second, and put on a smile.

Summer led him up the stairs. Watching her lead him up there was so exciting. The bedroom, after all, is a window into someone. Into their interests, and how well they take care of themselves.

He thought about it for a minute, digging another pokeball from his pocket. “...If he has track-pants with a drawstring, I can make it work. If not, I'll send my Skarmory home for something. ...But we don't have to worry about that for a while.”
