Seeing the Noibat made for an easy choice. Even though Gengar was already gearing up to tackle this one on his own, she instead urged him back and called out another of her Pokemon. After all, she had a Noivern. There was no need to fight if they could communicate, which was what happened soon thereafter.

The two bat-like Pokemon flew around one another first until they came down and simply sat opposite of one another, making strange noises and gestures that Eve could not fully understand. She didn’t have to, though. It was somewhat easy to tell what was happening here, after all.
After a bit of this, Noivern eventually butted its smaller counterpart in the head. However, that evidently was not a hurtful thing. Just something the two of them considered enough of a fight. They looked at one another once more, before turning towards her. Taking that cue, Eve tossed her last ball, figuring that it would suffice.

Well, she wasn’t worrying at least. Not about that. And other things, well, she would have to sort those out in time. There was no point in fidgeting too much about something like that, especially not in the midst of herself and many others recovering from whatever had happened. She still did not have the strongest grasp on that, no. But that was secondary. Given the general atmosphere around them, there was no immediate danger. That was the most important thing. Everything else could be sorted out after.

“Yes, though the full name is Evette Moreau, from Kalos,” she noted, simply shaking that hand since she was already holding it. That was a good cue to let go, too, before things got too awkward as well. “It appears there are others in worse shape. I am going to volunteer to help if I can. Care to join in on that, or did you meet your quota already?”

It was odd. Usually, she didn’t exactly let others lead her anywhere. At least not since she set out on her journey. It wasn’t uncommon to be casually led about at a party like this, often even by employees. But it had been quite a wile since she’d last let that happen. Or that anyone had tried precisely that.

For the past months, she had been a lot more self-sufficient. Yet, it didn’t feel bad to be helped like this, either. She had not asked for it, especially not a stranger, but he had come, he had supported her – and now he was distracting her from that bad dream. Eve could still see that fake mother from the corner of her eyes, sure, but she was now sufficiently distracted to take a deeper breath.[break][break]
Though it would certainly take at least some work to get over all this, that much was for sure. For now though, she was just glad to be getting out of this weirdness. “Thank you. I do mean it.” Eve made absolutely sure that the sincerity of her words was heard. That was at least one of mother’s lessons she had taken to heart. If you thanked someone, you’d better do it properly or not at all.

Ew. A spider. Just no. Despite Genger’s unbridled joy at the sight, Eve just walked away from the Dewpider, as it walked away from her. She could have maybe gotten into it if that was a cute spider, like a Spinarak or such. But those thin legs with the weird bubbles? They were just…..no good.

It was done. She was not going to go after this one, that much was for sure. Instead, Eve turned towards the attic of the old house, trying to see if there were more…amiable critters up there.

“Now that was…unexpected,” she noted, before recalling her Swablu before it hit the ground. The little one had fought valiantly against the sleepiness, but ultimately, both it and the Drowzee had fallen for one-another’s attacks at the same time.

Something Gengar found hilarious. But she figured that Swablu probably wouldn’t notice that it was being made fun of, so she’d let it slide this time around. Instead, she flung one of her two remaining balls at the Drowzee they’d encountered. More Pokemon to put others to sleep were always useful. Even if this one looked a tiny bit…off.

Well, if he truly had no problem with that, she probably should not complain. After all, it was his prerogative to be insulted. If he so decidedly wasn’t, then she did not really have any right to beat herself up over that.

“Well, if you insist,” she thus said, regaining a little bit of her usual playfulness before taking his hand. There were few doubts left in her mind in that regard, so she did not hesitate at all, her grip fast and firm. They did have a mist to get out of, after all.

Good, good, another one down for the count. “Good job again, like this we can – wha?” Eve has to backpaddle with her arms briefly as she is hit by something on the head. Or rather, something briefly jumped onto her head, then from there straight onto the floating Swablu. The Impidimp laughed out loud doing that, then hopped into a tree and back into the woods, while Swablu tried its best to not plunge to the ground.

It did manage that, fortunately, leaving the three of them to glare and stare after the intruder, uncertain what to do. However, Eve ultimately decided that, yes, she’d wanted to go head into the mansion now, not be drawn back out into the woods. So, they forsook the Impidimp and instead headed up the stairs, right towards the spooky house.

That had worked like a charm! The sleeping Pokemon was captured peacefully, which in turn put her concerns to rest as well. The two Pokemon grinned happily, Gengar picking the ball up for her while Swablu flew above them. This little tactic devised at the HST was surprisingly effective, really. Though more experienced trainers probably had always known about it all.

Ultimately, she still considered herself a novice of sorts at best. Regardless of that, though, it was time to move on, so she did just that. The trio soon reached the courtyard of a mansion, where she noticed a Cubone poking a helmet with its stick, apparently uncertain if that was another of its kind. “Let’s try this again,” she told the two of them, and the Mean Look and Sing combo was swiftly utilized once more. Which, hopefully, would lead to another successful catch.

That was a confusing answer. Which, ironically, was rather good all things considered. Tilting her head in slight confusion, she was distracted from the other mess somewhat successfully. “I guess truth and belief do not always align. But…doesn’t it bother you what she said to you? And if I made that, I must have come up with this with just a glance at you….”

Briefly, Eve trailed off, only to slightly recoil with a blush, a hand to her mouth. “Oh, oh, my. I must have been really rude in that way, right? I am sorry. It definitely wasn’t my intention. At least…I don’t think it was?”
