everything disappears in the blink of an eye.[break][break]

one moment, he's fighting for their survival, freedom, and victory. the next, he's kneeling by some tomb he does not recognize—it's a tomb from a different life, perhaps.[break][break]

but with the downpour of rain comes memories, and with it, realization.[break][break]

she is the first he calls out to. the ease with which he's able to move and look around is appalling. he feels young.[break][break]

though seasoned—and weathered—he has not partaken in a battle of this scale before. this is likely the biggest fight he will ever have, both in terms of sheer numbers and the stakes at hand.[break][break]

with a battle of this scale comes casualties, that much is unavoidable. his SCREAM TAIL leaps in front of JOSHUA, one of the locals who accompanied him on a few fishing trips. they aren't a fighter and it shows in how quickly they get mowed down.[break][break]

he looks away.[break][break]

as his SCREAM TAIL falls, his NIHILEGO takes its place. the ultra beast floats above him like a tethered balloon, watchful and protective.[break][break]

what remains of POSTWICK is ignored as they focus their attention on the BLACK KNIGHT. a DAZZLING GLEAM pulses out from nihilego's bulbous head, looking to aid the ETERNATUS.[break][break]
