the commissioner is quick to fill in the gaps should it be required. a solgaleo avatar. a light snuffed and missing after the storm of sootopolis' takeover. a man MATIAS SILPH, Melody Miro and kyle lopez are in search of too.

"is he in rocket's possession and if so, where?" dahlia asks quietly, tucking ghosts within her sentences as she lockpicks syllable and tone. "we presume there is a vessel in which he is contained."

the revelation cian falls upon is the darkest scream before the quietest death. within that silent sea, she treads- but her feet still strike the sediment of implication in its murky hue.

"spy? you do know the dangers associated with that, yes?" dahlia frowns. "does anyone in there know of your defection?"

it had been awhile since a man had been so forward with her. dahlia laughs, voice feathered nervous like ducklett wings.

after she is saved by andres buenaventura' wiles, dahlia accepts Remiel Calcifet's invitation for a change in scenery. however, as soon as she realizes it's a dance floor, the commissioner briefly excuses herself from luka chêne, Melody Miro and those around them. a warm wave. a nice to meet you is uttered. she'll return eventually in a swift cycle of heels.

in this celebratory casita, she wonders if she has forgotten how to socialize.

eventually, she finds what she believes is kim cole-essam just from attire alone—

"kim, since i've been meaning to talk to you about your little 'friend'."

NOTE: ENCANTO 4: NO TIME TO DIE

dahlia asks for a water too. no ice. the cold grates against her teeth. reminds her of unfeeling seas and white stones.

"if i remember correctly, battle facilities, yes?" dahlia speaks louder, voice more colourful in a frequency guarded by privacy. "our champion is interested in such things, but not in the way you are... perhaps. more fun than business. correct me if i'm wrong."

she remains proper in posture, performing her part until she feels ready to let down her guard.

"if it's a submarine, then somehow it has passed detection by our navy's sonar instruments." dahlia's imagination is wrought with claustrophobic images of balder leagues under the sea. she imagines cold metal acoustics, the horrid groaning of straining pipes, eyes weighed by the persistent dim light of confinement. "but sootopolis is the best lead we have."

the commissioner weaves her hands together. she settles her net of thought against her lap.

"i'll refocus our intelligence. should i discover anything of use, i'll notify you three." the commissioner says.

- A small mini event involving kyle lopez, MATIAS SILPH, and Melody Miro breaking Balder Schwartz out of the submarine will be scheduled for the near future. Stay tuned.

as silas, the commissioner recovers a heavy memory pressed upon her chest. briefly, her eyes catch a glimpse of a phantom in the corner of the room. she releases a sigh— an auteur of her expression, dahlia masks personal sorrow for maher-empathy.

"does your dad know that you're out now?" dahlia asks. "as a ranger captain, boruta may not want any surprises. and i hope you realize, this road will not be easy. you will be under intense scrutiny."

she places a hand over her collar.

"not by me. but by the public. by anyone who knows. even with redemption, this past will haunt you until the end."

"no bother. it's admirable. too many too often give up way too quickly."

dahlia is quick to slip inside. her heels strike the restaurant floor as she takes a survey of her surroundings. a fancy establishment; one that is already prepared to receive both her and cobalt with swelled service.

she turns to quincy, "do you own this restaurant too?"

dahlia says, recrossing her legs. the modesty of her towel is generous and robe-like as she flattens the white meringue-like tufts of its fabric.

"however, i just assumed that a trainer as ambitious as you might have had explored secondary passions." she says a slice above the steam. "politics don't count."

dahlia's world is held together by handshakes. another would do just fine— and as her arm bridges the gap between them, she adorns their union with a small smile.

"dahlia goode." her eyes become crescents. she smiles at what she quietly presumes is Remiel Calcifet's date.

within this casita, she sees some notable faces blossoming forth from the menagerie: skyler dross, who'd she'd like to court further. GABRIEL BLACK, who eyes the whiskey, a councilman newly appointed, yet unknown to her outside of work... and a curious, wobbling man in a trenchcoat (kim cole-essam).

she takes a step back upon andres buenaventura' abrupt entry. dahlia's heels tap squarely against the stone flooring as her hand is withdrawn from luka chêne's.

"of your dreams?" dahlia's voice flutters. a nervous flight from her throat.

she takes another flighty step as a pokemon leaps out of a hoop and toward Melody Miro.

NOTE: ENCANTO 3: RELOADED

dahlia's stoutland is a refined paragon of patience, barely budging at maksim's orbiting energy. however, the facade is chipped away. the stoutland leans onto its front legs, tail wagging as it toys with the herdier.

dahlia returns the hug, her hands bracing melody's back briefly. "oh, it's a pleasure to come. i know you've had a difficult year, melody."

she greets kim cole-essam when he arrives too. Katherine Fairburne. the commissioner raises a brow, quickly digesting the phrase creepy church basements— but the thought is quickly chewed out in favour for the dark alighting of Remiel Calcifet's zekrom.

"mr. calcifet! what an entrance." she fixes her hair as the turbine's whirring hums in the distance. "and who's this?"

she gestures a soft angled hand toward luka chêne.

dahlia arrives in a kalosian coat that hangs effortlessly from her shoulders. a rush of fur flushes in beside her, paws tapping on the casita's stones.

in her hand, she holds a seran-wrapped platter filled to the brim with expensive charcuterie foods. the commissioner sees that Melody Miro is busy with andres buenaventura, Hideo Kino and GABRIEL BLACK— and to the last, she bestows a quick nod of her blonde head.

she sets the platter on the nearest table as her stoutland sniffs corners.
