The ROWLET hoots in the tree above, and Hecate takes that personally.

The vulture is much larger than the smaller bird it viciously attacks. For that reason alone, it should come to no surprise that their little scuffle ends quickly. Namely, with the Mandibuzz's talons over the Rowlet's head.

Rather than let her continue to be a bully, however, Belial calls her back to his side as he moves on.

An ERUPTION fills the sky from deep inside the forest. Hecate is there minutes before Belial arrives. She encircles a raging Cyndaquil down below, and is forced to dive when it takes notice of her captain.

Too preoccupied with trying to FLARE BLITZ the human, the fiery mammal fails to notice the BONE RUSH headed its way before it's too late. It is struck with a heavy 'thud' before it collapses into the ground. Pulling an empty ball out from his pack, Belial tosses it to secure the capture.

Hecate seemed to enjoy tormenting and teasing the OSHAWOTT with a PLUCK here and a GUST there. If Belial had to guess, he was making fun of it for not being able to fly. It made him wonder if the vulture was any good at swimming itself.

Regardless, when the little otter struck back with a FURY CUTTER, things immediately intensified. The Mandibuzz beat it to a pulp with a BONE RUSH, after which the pair left the battered little Pokémon behind.

Now a BARBARACLE was a good challenge indeed!

These Pokémon were legends in the mercenary community. Though not that pretty to look at it, the behemoths of rock were known to be vicious fighters with a keen sense of perception and splendid durability. Bravo put to that test repeatedly with FORCE PALM strikes.

Despite being struck with super-effective attacks, however, the golem remained standing for a while longer. It tried, in vain, to summon an ANCIENT POWER to help it. But the little Riolu shattered every rock that was thrown to it into pieces until, at last, it struck the final blow.

The Barbaracle landed on its back with a loud thud. Afterwards, Belial produced a timer ball from his pack and threw it.

The OSHAWOTT was a warrior at heart, that much was certain. The fact that it managed to put up quite a fight against Chai was utterly impressive. Though it had a lot to owe to its SHELL ARMOR for that. Paired with a dangerous NIGHT SLASH, it was able to keep the Mienshao on her toes throughout the whole bout.

The CHINGLING approaches Belial in attempt to spark friendship, it seems. Happily, it chimes and dances around him. He's not a complete asshole, of course, and entertain its for a bit.

But Hecate likes shiny things. She swoops down when she catches the golden gleam of the bell, seizing it in her talons before taking it away. When she's tired of playing with it, she discards it into the forest below.

Early on into their venture within the stone labyrinth, a GIGALITH appeared to block their way forward. This was the perfect test for Bravo, the mercenary captain though. So he sent his yellow Riolu forward, commanding it to strike first with a FORCE PALM.

The battle that ensued was lengthy and loud. For a few instances, Belial wasn't sure if the little pup was able to withstand the onslaught of an enemy ten sizes larger than it. Not to mention the fact that it was quite durable.

In the end, however, the Riolu pulls through and obliterates it with a HI-JUMP KICK. They leave it in a pile against the wall as they move forward to explore the rest of the place.

The desert was an unforgiving place. On the bright side, this meant it was the perfect place to train and push one past their limits. Today, Belial was practicing that with BRAVO, his right-hand SHINY RIOLU.

The pair had run some cardio across the desert before coming across a strange labyrinth of stone, however. Entering these ancient ruins, they expected to find some powerful Pokémon within, if their echoed roars were anything to go by...

Belial begins his hike through the Safari Zone this day by summoning his MANDIBUZZ partner, HECATE. He's trained her a bit since encountering her during training a week ago. With a few simple gestures on his part, she takes to the sky to provide recon as their journey begins.

His last visit to the Safari Zone had been quite fruitful. But Belial found himself wanting, especially after hearing reports of Growlithe in the area. They had always proven to be fierce and loyal companions, especially in the mercenary industry.

Belial takes the flank in the meantime, grabbing a stick and making as much noise with it as he can. "Hey, look! Over here!" This manages to distract the Rowlet look enough for Chai to land a devastating kick. It drops to the ground afterward, unconscious. And Belial smirks as he pulls an empty timer ball out of his pack and taps it against it.
