A house born of heroism and valor; and one of the six co-founders to have formed the Order of Obscura. Known for their great lineage of warrior-kings throughout the ages, House Wynter served the people of Galar for countless generations, honored even through the name of its capital: Wyndon. Many of its revered heirs were known for their magnetic charisma, intricate suits of armor, and blazing forces of spirit on and off the battlefield, and they could often be counted on to unite the clans of Galar whenever they threatened to split once more. Thusly, members of the House Wynter typically proved to be crucial figureheads for the Order of Obscura, which involved keeping royal families and otherwise united under one cause at all times.

Though one of the principal founders of the order, and one of its longest-standing additions as well, the members of House Calcifet had always been shunned of leadership for their Kalosian ancestry. Despite that, their recognition as a royal house of Galar for their bravery in an ancient war for freedom has garnered them seats of power nonetheless— politically, socially, and in the Order of Obscura itself. Historically, the House Calcifet mainly provided lore-keepers, dragon tamers, and strategic advisors to the order throughout the centuries. They were the watchers; the ones to catalogue the comings and goings of other houses and members themselves while ensuring the order served its purpose effectively in every possible facet it could. Though the order generally considered the descendants of the Emperor and the Empress their leaders, the House Calcifet was widely regarded as the beating heart of it. As such, they came to form many lasting relationships with the other families throughout the centuries.

A descendant of the original empress who co-founded the Order of Obscura, or one of the few other lineages of queens that came after. This member is a natural born daughter of Galar. Her blood is the blood of the many warriors and leaders that fought to protect and serve the region in centuries past. Naturally, her ancestors that took part in this clandestine organization served as leaders, figureheads, and judges for the order. Their supreme political power and reverence outside of the order played a very crucial role in, not only keeping them well-funded, but keeping them secret as well.

A rogue sect of the House Nightingale found itself on the shores of Galar long, long ago for reasons unknown. Within a few mere generations, they had managed to weave themselves into positions of religious power throughout the region. Playing on the faiths and beliefs of the people, House Nightingale had powerful control over the hearts and minds of many. Whether the house joined the Order of Obscura through blackmail or genuine recruiting efforts is up for debate. But, regardless, their discovery of the organization and subsequent joining of it certainly came to strengthen the order considerably, solidifying their value as members of it for centuries. Those from the House Nightingale were historically religious liaisons, expert manipulators, and co-authors and artists of the Grimchiridion. The wealth of secrets at their disposal, however, typically made them shunned or feared by other members of the order.

House Pendray of Galar was a clan of warrior-scholars with an extensive list of accolades in their family records, most of which had been hard-won by their patron ancestor Arturo Pendray, who alone held the esteemed title of Pendragon during his tenure in Galar as a sworn kingsguard.
Some among the noble caste did not think them deserving of their appointed lordship, but where words are wind, the actions of the persistent few were an irrefutable mountain. Serving the common man through the greater good was ever their highest calling, and that is perhaps why some among the noble elite saw their appointment as an affront.
Their family heraldry has always been a lustrous black Corviknight pursuing the waxing moon, hanging above a field of crimson radiant. Their words were "Nosce teipsum; Know thyself." Their bloodline is among the most common, and accordingly most diluted of the Galarian noble caste due to their fondness for frivolous affairs while wedlocked.
Their sigil is a Corviknight due in part to its malleable behavior and yet equally fierce disposition, making them ideal partners for the average noble, knight or squire.
They believed the color red to be the penultimate symbol of strength, particularly when the pigmentation of the eyes were a deep crimson or vibrant scarlet hue. Clan superstition was that blood eyes meant they had seen much carnage in a past life, and would not shirk from it in the present, wholeheartedly embracing strife with peace hand-in-hand.
Although a primitive assertion, they felt their beliefs validated in the days leading up to Galar's dark age, or the singular event known to modern scholars as the Darkest Day. When shards of fallen stars emanating a dull glow like a luminescent garnet were uncovered around the region, they were among the first to covet these oddities at face value...
Life was a cycle, and it always came full circle. That is why they believed in scholarly studies as much as the strength of one's arm; both were a measure of worth. One in times of peace, and the other in times of war. They abhorred that they'd been relegated to mere sellswords and cutthroats in most of Galar's accountings of their blood-steeped history.
Despite the original holder's title of Pendragon suggesting otherwise, they were not a clan of dragon tamers, and in fact they considered them too self-serving and capricious. Where to many training one was a sign of personal distinction, House Pendray often sought to actively discredit dragon tamers. Arturo Pendragon wielded a Doublade into battle as his sole companion during many campaigns, trouncing many would-be dragon lords in open contest to prove this point.
It wasn't until the Lord Pendragon's appointment to the Paladins of Obscura that he finally gave up the mantle of a conqueror, and consummated a marriage to further his line. At this crossroads in his life, the Lord's Doublade was finally able to evolve, and Pendragon became the King's Shield in more ways than one. It was only then after holding his firstborn that Pendragon could see past his own battle lust and learn there was more to war than glory and spoils.

In the darkest and deepest wilds of Ballonlea, a mysterious clan has kept itself hidden from the rest of Galar for eons. Though naturally reclusive and protective of their own, few trickled out from this obscured society and dared to integrate themselves into the world outside of it. The first among them to do so took upon the name 'Reid' and married into the name 'Walker'. A pink-haired practitioner of mystical arts and trainer of Psychic and Fairy-type pokémon, Reid stood out as an enigmatic legend during his time. Being incredibly hard to find, some even wondered if he actually existed. When the Order of Obscura required a legend with such talents to protect themselves against a dark force, however, they put all their efforts into doing so and recruiting him. To this day, Reid Walker is accredited with single-handedly building the magician's division in the order and creating the encryption for both volumes of the Grimchiridion. Despite that, much of his history and personal profile remains steeped in mystery...

A descendant from a long reputable line of Galarian knights. Many of their ancestors were the epitome of justice and fairness in the ancient world, upholding strict moral codes in the name of the people, the emperor, and the kingdom as a whole. Though this moral code was the very factor that caused them to butt heads with several of the order's members in the past, their inclusion in the Order of Obscura was nonetheless vital to its survival on many occasions. The first among them to join was brought along by the emperor and empress to ensure such a congregation of power and resources was never used for selfish gains, but instead for the safety and prosperity of Galar. Ever since then, their descendants have served as the moral compass— and sometimes enforcers— of the order.

[attr="class","night"] Some historians claim that the eccentricity of present day Galarian scientists and researchers is partly credited to the memory of one of Galar's most infamous hermits: Odhran Quinn. Considered a mad scientist and heretic during his time, for his practices in the pursuit of resurrection and several other fantastical endeavors, Odhran was ousted as the head of House Quinn in Wyndon and forced to escape the clutches of the Church before they could hang him. Oddly enough, the same priest that had ordered the hanging ended up being the one to recruit him into the elusive Order of Obscura. Given newfound purpose and, more importantly, resources for his experiments, Odhran became one of the order's greatest assets. And, in his old age, even managed to form a mysterious bond with the meteorite...

The descendant of an infamous mercenary known to have toppled over even some of Galar's greatest knights. Many different mercenaries came and went throughout the lifespan of the order, some a bit bloodier than others. And not all of them happened to be of pure Galarian descent either. While the proper knights within the order were there to enforce law from within when it was required, however, the mercenaries were very much the raw muscle to any violent endeavors required outside of it. These were typically the order's strongest and most experienced trainers. Though sometimes their infamy cost the order more than they were worth.

During an age of supreme monarchy and all-powerful kings, the sisterhood of the clan Devlin stood out as a cultivator of strong, intelligent, and powerful women whose importance to the society they lived in was far (and repeatedly) underestimated. Housing, raising, and training their young women and relatives in all manner of trade and skill, their proteges could be found in nearly every aspect of Galarian culture and commerce. Their apprentices became renowned doctors, artists, knights, ladies of the court, diplomats, merchants, military strategists, and even, on occasion, information brokers with a breadth of secrets at their disposal. Perhaps it was inevitable that they would discover and, subsequently, be invited to join the Order of Obscura some time after its inception. Once they'd become a part of it, for centuries it was tradition for House Devlin to screen and submit new apprentices for the order to pick from and train. Some of its most influential members, in fact, were once apprentices.

The descendant of a beloved veteran and politician of ancient Galar. The first had great sway over the courts and the people that attended them, though they were also known for their frugality and moderation on top of that unyielding charisma. Whenever something needed to be done or hidden that could not be swayed by religious dedication or brute force, this politician would be called upon to tip the scales in their favor. As the years passed and the order expanded, the position branched out to economical affairs, the recruitment of reliable temporary workers who could be discreet, and rigged methods of funding.

The criminal element— at least, from a master criminal— has always proven itself to be invaluable throughout the ages. The order has managed to recruit such an individuals in the past, convincing them to take upon their cause above all else by promising them riches, protection, or even granting them salvation from the gallows themselves. Those that have evolved past their grand heists and misdeeds have served the order in various ways throughout history. Especially when it has concerned dirtying hands in the name of their cause.
