Perish Song?! Kee's face was just that of absolute shock and confusion. That...should be something of a last resort, shouldn't it? Once he recovered from it, he decided to say something. "Bold move sacrificing your Absol just to take down Tyrunt. Ty, time is against us now, go, use Tackle!" Surely she didn't fear Tyrunt that much? Ancient Power was a mediocre powered move, and frankly not that strong with Tyrunt...her physical moves were much stronger and sharper. The little dinosaur ran in, and tried to Tackle the larger Pokemon. Ty wasn't particularly fast, nor was she slow either. Just kind of...average he guessed.

Still, taking a hit first was a good advantage, though Perish Song certainly put a damper on things. He'd wait to see if she was going to switch out to cancel the effects of her own move. If she wasn't, than this fight was going to be even more interesting.

Eylyssa Kay

The Flame Burst didn't quite hit Houndour, since the dog saw it and stopped, but he still got grazed. Not that it did much damage. Trevanent was more affected by it, also having been caught slightly by the explosion. Both boys showed that they were related not just by blood by their looks, but also by sharing the same smirk at the comment. "Well, we're also tossing the best that we have at you too. We have faith in our partners." Aaron nodded along with his brother's own comment. The green electric type got close with the fighting type, snarling at Houndour, who simply stared back, like he was very much unimpressed. And almost cold.

The Hitmonchan also stared down Trevanent, who was ready to close it for a fist fight. But Aaron remained mostly stoic. "Trev, use Ingrain, and take root." Two of the tree's legs seemed to have dived underground, though rustling as it established a root system could be heard from above ground. Trevanent was also something of a tank for Aaron, between the litany of recovery moves that it knew. Luckily, absorbing the nutrients from the ground would also heal it enough to recover from the Flame Burst earlier.

Kee knew Trevenant was the trump card of theirs. Hitmonchan could easily knock out Houndour due to its type advantage. The dogs had to fight. But it won't just be a close range battle, and Kee wasn't going to let Houndour get drawn in, either. "Houndour, use Smog, let's see if we can poison Glen." Hopefully they'd get lucky. The black dog spewed poisonous gas from his mouth that would do relatively little damage if it hit any of the other two Pokemon, but there was a chance at poisoning either one.

It was plenty obvious that Alesei wasn't paying any attention. Ana revealed that she was from Rustboro, but had lived somewhere else too. At that point, the dumbo said that he had ran out of topics. And seemingly ignored Kee having his arm around the young man. Well, there was other topics to talk about. "Favorite Pokemon? Or type of Pokemon. Personally, whatever I think looks cool or super cute. Hence why I have a Houndour and a Grub-no, they evolved, Charjabug. Along with the rest. I don't have any preferred type, personally. My little brother adores ghost and steel types though." Kee was super tempted to move his arm to around Alesei's waist, but waited for that. There were a couple of other things he wouldn't mind asking later on. It was just a bit of small talk. Ana seemed to be the quiet type, but Alesei was the loud, fun loving idiot.

A Primarina? That was a water type, but he also thought that maybe it was a second type too...but he couldn't think about it. Kee got into position once they were called. Funnily enough, instead of using his name, the announcer used an alias on him. Probably because he was actually dressed up. The Prince. Cute. Kneeling down so that he was closer to Tyrunt's level, he met her own stare. "You got this. Roar is going to be useless, so we have to stick with our other tools. You ready?" His little dinosaur gave a two fingered salute, earning a few cutesy aw's.

As expected, the Absol was sent out first. Tyrunt ran in. The referee announced what Pokemon they were, and declared the beginning of the battle. He decided to start with range. And if Absol got close, lowering her defense might be the way to go. "Tyrunt, use Ancient Power!" A brown aura surrounded Tyrunt as she raised her head and gathered rocks into a white light. Then she fired it at Absol. There was also a one in five chance that it would raise Tyrunt's stats, but that didn't appear to have happened.

Kee followed Lyssa's pointed chin raise. And what his Tyrunt was looking at. A tournament? The Absol also started to look enthusiastic. "Sure. I could use the experience." His mind started to go through Tyrunt's capabilities. She wasn't the fastest, but could intercept well enough. If Lyysa was going to use Absol, two of Ty's attacks wouldn't do much. Though much better than normal because of her strong jaw ability. Bite and Crunch were very powerful on her. Otherwise, she had tail whip to lower defense, roar, which would be useless here, Ancient Power, and Tackle. His odds weren't terrible he guessed. It just depended on how good Lyssa was.

He registered for the tournament. Sort of. It wasn't a tournament, just an arena for small scale Pokemon battles. They also had a Pokemon nurse nearby to heal between battles. They could do single and double battles, and choose how many Pokemon to use. Thinking about it, Kee registered for two Pokemon. "I'm going to register for two Pokemon each, single battle. If that's alright with you?" He was going to use Charjabug in addition to Tyrunt. Should be interesting anyways.

"Shit hit the fan at the same time that you weren't here, gone to take care of an emergency. That can happen to literally anyone. Even the champion. But even I can tell that we're likely not going to see eye to eye on that..." Sometimes, it wasn't worth arguing with a wall. At the apology though, he actually made to try to slap Derek. Hard. Hopefully, he'd actually hit him. "Stop that. You don't owe me anything. Not even an apology. I'm just a dumb teenager fresh out of high school going on an adventure to take on the world at the moment."

Derek didn't even really owe him an explanation. This clearly weighed heavily on the man's mind. Apparent by the way the guy was cleaning the memorials nicely. While Kee was still contemplating his own reply, the next comment struck him. "This clearly still weighs heavily on your mind. Truth be told, I didn't even recognize you at first. With what Rocket pulled recently though...I think you can safely say that you've been forgotten about by and large by the public. And I barely even remember you and what people were saying already. Anyways, I get the feeling it'll forever be with you until you feel like you've paid your so called debt. I just...look, don't let it consume you. If you need someone to vent to...or feel like you're heading in a situation where you need backup...don't hesitate to get me. I'll watch your back. Now give me your phone so I can give you my contact info."

And he was serious about that. Unlike some people, Kee took care of his friends. Not that Derek was a friend...yet. But he wanted to be friends with the guy. "Now, there's more to you than that mess and to being a gym leader, ex or otherwise. Surely you have some hobbies. I noticed you had a pretty varied team back there too...what kind of Pokemon do you like..." Kee was just doing some minor tidying up of flowers and little mementos left by loved ones.

DEREK HOFFMAN

"No. I'm not very picky." Especially after all they'd been through in just a few hours. He chilled with the kids, and watched the movie with them until Evette returned with food. The boy woke up suddenly, and they ate in relative silence, just watching the movie. Then they put on a second one. It wasn't long before both kids started to yawn and drift a little. Kee sent one to take a bath, then the other. And then got them both to sleep soundly in their beds. He was tired as well. The parents arrived soon after, and asked how things went. Kee gave them all the details. While miffed that their kids stole from Kee, it sounded like everything got resolved. Kee also suggested that maybe they should get their own Pokemon. Nothing hard to take care of. Since they seemed to be attention starved. Both parents looked at each other, and slumped. But listened well, and paid both him and Evette.

Kee returned to his hotel and crashed with all his clothes on.

Kee just blinked at the guy. The facial expression said it all. Did...this guy even finish high school? English may not be the easiest of subjects, but surely he knew basic words, right? One thin, yellow eyebrow did raise by the response. Yeah...he doubted that was the case. Was the guy actually dumb as a rock, and really just said that for virtually no reason? Well, only one thing to do, test this guy! And just in luck, he took the opportunity to sit by Keenan. Kee wrapped an arm around Alesei's shoulders, drawing circles with his middle finger on the guy's far shoulder...probably partially onto the arm too. Kee only half paid attention to what Alesei said. "Keenan Toral. Parents work in IT and in archeology. Originally from Johto, Olivine City to be precise, and moved to Littleroot when I was ten. I have two brothers, one older and one younger. I'm sure my younger brother is around here somewhere too."

Kee scooched a little bit closer. Normally he wouldn't try anything like this, but he also wanted to see what kind of dumbass he and Ana discovered.

Noah sent out a Hitmonchan and his Electrike. The boys' mother simply nodded and said the magic words. "Battle Begin!" The gym leader didn't waste any time, and had the electric type use howl. That would increase his attack power. Normally, Kee might mirror the move when using Houndour...but decided not to. Instead, he watched his little brother, seeing how he would respond to Hitmonchan's fast attack. Aaron didn't waste time. "Trevanant, use Horn Leech." From the tree's forearm, a glowing wooden spike would form, and the grass and ghost type would trade blows with the Hitmonchan, getting hit at the midway point on the trunk.

Trevenant was the powerhouse between the two, and not much that Noah had could potentially harm it. Still...since Hitmonchan was here...

"Houndour, use Fire Fang!" The fire type went around Trevanent and lunged at the Hitmonchan, aiming for either arm or leg, with glowing red fangs. Kee's hope was to give Aaron an opening for his Trevanent to use either his Wood Hammer or Phantom Force attacks on it. The older blonde knew Aaron had been working extensively with his Pokemon...always had since the day he got them. Surely their attacks would be really strong by now.

Lonnie seemed to agree. And took the lead, with the Yamper scampering behind him, then Kee, then Kee's Houndour. It was a slow walk, but then the stench of garbage covered the area. Lonnie believed it was a Muk or Garbador around. Looking up the Pokemon, and what kind of tracks it normally leaves, as well as other information, Kee searched his memory of the tracks. "I think it might have been Garbador that scared everyone...the tracks...seem similar? I'm trying to remember what they looked like and what the photo of what they typically look like..." It was an odd position that he had to look it up too. And just getting his phone out in general.

The stench seemed to be getting worse the closer to town they got. Soon enough, they happened upon it. It was a Garbador...that seemed to be crying. Looking closer...it looked like it had a collar on it. That was...odd. Although...couldn't the city's trash companies use them to eat all the trash people made and produced? If one escaped...it wouldn't be a bad idea to return it. "Hey Lonnie, how good are you with Pokemon? That Garbador has a collar on it...wonder if its owner's contact information is there..." And that collar isn't just a piece of trash that got stuck on it or something.

Turns out, the local garbage collectors used a couple of Garbadors to assist with the job. And feed them. This one escaped and got lost, scaring the kids and the pups by accident. The Pokemon was so happy getting back to its owners. As was the puppies when they returned them to the kids and parents.

Lonnie Little

That they did. The lady's Scorbunny seemed to join his Tyrunt. It was pretty cute, and joined the lady's giggling. Then she introduced herself and her Pokemon. Including a cool Absol. But she was a travelling performer of sorts, usually dancing for videos. Curious, he took a look at her channel. Just a brief look made him slightly envious...but at the same time...he really didn't want to do that again. Smiling, he nodded. "Yeah. Let's go." With that, off they went, with at least Tyrunt on his heels. The first event was a sword fighting booth, with trained Honedges and Aegislash and instructors. Yeah, that was a big nope from him. Cool to watch and see, but definitely not his forte.

The falconry show on the other hand...that was cool. It wasn't just Braviary either. If it flew, it was there. Aside from dragon-types. They did ask for some volunteers for a show as well. Kee couldn't help but hold up his hand. Both he and Lyssa were picked. With him being called the prince. They soon learned some basics, and fed a few of the birds. Then they were asked to be a part of a small show for the crowd. Kee, of course, gave a huge absolutely. Luckily, all they had to do was simple gestures and motions, as well as being staging points for their lighter birds, namely Spearow and Pidgey. As simple as it was, it was entertaining. And Tyrunt kept Agni occupied. Though Tyrunt's attention did turn towards a mini-tournament. A Pokemon battle tournament to be precise.

The princely Kee watched as others had fun. His Tyrunt eventually started dancing with a Lopunny and Scorbunny. The main person, what he assumed to be their trainer, gave everyone a performance to remember. Tyrunt jumped for joy before joining Kee, who had gotten some Pokemon food specifically for her. The trainer herself left to get some drinks. Though there wasn't really any seats left aside from his table. "Feel free to sit down here. That was quite the performance." Kee was no slouch either. But his experience with his school's ensemble, and the pain in the butt it was, pretty much made him say no to the idol scene. Even though he could easily fit in there with both his dance moves and his singing.

Tyrunt gave a happy growl like noise and started to bounce a bit. It made Kee chuckle. "Aw...Tyrunt loved it. Plan on doing any more impromptu performances? Oh, and where are my manners, sorry. I'm Keenan. Nice to meet you!" The amber eyed, five foot eight teenager gave her a warm smile as Tyrunt gave her and her Pokemon a cute salute with her tiny arms. "I've never been to one of these before, have you?"

Keenan found himself in Fortree Village. Somehow. The amber eyed teenager had no idea how he got here. But boy was he glad! A renaissance fair was going on! After checking in to a hotel, and a quick check up on his Pokemon, he decided to go do some exploring. Sort of, he bought some clothes first. Then changed into said clothes. This time, he let his Tyrunt out for some fresh air. His tiny crown surprisingly sat nicely and snugly on his head. And with his blonde hair and general looks, he looked the part of a prince. Funnily enough, Tyrunt's evolved form had a crown on their heads, and Tyrunt themselves usually like being pampered. Much like a spoiled prince. Though his own is was surprisingly well trained. What little time he had with her and the training his father had done with her really helped.

Still, it was plenty obvious that he was just a tourist, and not a part of the show. Nevertheless, his little dinosaur danced to the tune of a small band, along with a few other people and Pokemon. Kee stayed out of it, sitting down and enjoying his drink and food, he tapped happily to the enthusiastic band with his foot.
