It’s like falling asleep. One second, he’s in the gardens with his date for the meteor shower, the next he’s here. He’s unsure where he was. But it was bright, and it was posh. Half the walks were made of top to bottom windows, and the views were incredibly. They seemed to shift slowly but surely into visages and places Lana had once dreamed of seeing. There’s the gentle sound of water rushing from a fountain somewhere He could see a way out to a grand balcony with what seemed like a greenhouse. [break][break]

It was bright and despite the opulence, what he knew must’ve cost a fortune, it’s not overwhelming. Somewhere, from within the home there’s soft humming. Something old. A little ditty from his youth. It took him a few moments to realize that it was him, idly laying on a large, L shaped couch wile someone with a blurry face doted on him. Literally. There’s that hair petting again with such gentleness, such fondness.[break][break]

He blinked and its gone. They’re gone. He’d gone. Lana sat up with a start on the couch, admiring the plushness of it before standing up. Was this a dream? Was this his dream? He’s fighting to stay awake, but every time he blinked the world became wobbly and he stumbled deeper into this dream. “This is bad…” he murmured, tears welling up in his eyes. He hated these types of dreams even more than his nightmares. His nightmares at least weren’t a stretch form the truth of his life. These dreams though? These dreams always ended badly. He’d wake up, in the same filth and misery as before and he’d begin to cry in frustration. Maybe he needed to find the exit.

Conversation got easier as Lana fell deeper in a groove of it. He wasn’t articulate, or the loudest. Maybe he didn’t even SOUND the best at times, but he knew for Victor he didn’t need to be. He just needed to listen to him most of the time. Maybe that’s why he’d hired him. He could be just as awkward as Lana was. The meteors move strangely and despite how soothing Victor’s hands were, he can’t help the panic that wells up in him when the meteors come down. Lana’s already squirming out of Victor’s grasp, rushing to put feet on the ground when the glass shatters. He didn’t see the giant windows of the observatory smash though. [break][break]

Within seconds, a strange pink mist began to spread, and Dr. Holo made one more observation. “Shouldn’t we be evacuating?!” he asked, metaphorical hackles raised in distress. As others fall into a strange thrall, Lana squeezed his eyes shut before staring at the ground and holding his breath. They had to leave. [break][break]

“Victor? Should we really stay-” he asked looking up at him before following his eyes. He can’t quite understand what he’s seeing, but it’s affecting his employed in some sort of way. “Mikey!” he called out trying to summon the Dusclops to him. He looked for the ghost type only stopping as a dream of his own began to form, locking in his eyes to his innermost desires. And Victor had thought right. They were simple. His grip on Victor’s hand seemed to loosen as despite his panicking, he also fell into the spell of those sweet dreams. [break][break]

“Sorry…” the apology came out as barely a whisper as the young man practically glided gingerly into his own fantasy.

The intruders don’t particularly look menacing, but Mikey’s red eyes in the shadows was. Or would be if either Rory or their Frosslass took notice. He’s a little miffed they don’t, really. But then again, they didn’t seem like too much. Better than the last few visitors that had just amount to a rowdy looking group of trainers. From a few stray kids doing tests of courage, to very obnoxious older teens shouting and yelling at 2 in the morning. He wished they stopped sleeping out here. [break][break]

The crying shifted, slowly turning from whimpers and cut off sobs to a low, groaning wail. The kind that you had only in private. There’s a turn in the mood, as Rory and the Frosslass unknowingly moved closer to the little hide out. There’s a visible movement within the shadows, further aggravated with every wail near a white mausoleum, with carved flowers around the plaque of the deceased. Eyes glow from the shadows darting around and about in every direction as the inky masses quiver and shake in response to every wail, the noise and the negativity of it all agitating whatever ghosts had congregated in the cemetery. Orbs of a glowing orange, and then, yellow, blue and white flared up in an attempt to cut them off, The Dusclops themselves letting out a, hopefully, menacing groan. Seemingly at random robs flared up and died down almost like they were following a heartbeat. Mikey positioned himself behind the Will-O-wisp attack, unwilling to strike first, but also unable to let them investigate any further.

Lana made a face at the blonde when he said weapons. why would he need that? That wouldn’t feed him. He didn’t think he would even know how to wield a weapon. Knife, or gun. Again, he looked down at the pavement as he followed Elliott. “I-I was going to…later tonight. But I’m h-hungry now, y-you know?” There’s a rather big fountain a few blocks away that he managed to pull quarters out of for bus fare and vending machines. Garbage Baby is excited, panting loudly and stepping from side to side as the model got down to his level. He doesn’t stay still, chasing Elliot’s hand to lick it after a couple of scritches before attempting to rush forward only to bark gently when he was scooped up. There's no resistance however, and the Linoone is easily cradled. But it also meant he would lick up Elliot's face just as much. [break][break]

“I-Instead of stupid…y-you can c-call m-me Lana.” He said as he looked from his Linoone back to the blond that was buying him his next meal. Thank the Gods honestly. The growling n his stomach was starting to switch into painful cramping. He attempted to inject a little bit of humor though, maybe it would get Elliott to stop scowling at him. “I-I’m not s-s-starving. I’m a-actively w-withering away.” He said. The attempt is there, but his words lack confidence and volume, and he’s not sure if the blonde could hear him over the rush of cars on the street. But, he’d made the attempt, and considering how rarely he got to talk to people, he was happy with the result. At least he’d spoken up about something, right?

Lana braced himself for pain, which unfortunately he was a little used to but never happy to go through. But it doesn’t come. Lana doesn’t start breathing until Elliot stepped away form him and began walking off. “Guys…he’s ok.” Lana said as he watched his ghosts hovering and staring at Elliot with wide eyes. On their trainer’s call however, they moved back and melded into the shadows. Lana wasn’t sure how genuine Elliot was being, but he figured he could trust it. Free food and all. [break][break]

Besides, he didn’t have a better option right now. He readjusted his backpack strap and jogged over to Elliot. Despite the insult, the ghost specialist perked up. “W-what is worth s-stealing then?” he asked pointedly, despite his stutter. “Sometimes…you g-get tired of dumpster diving.” He added with a shrug, looking down at his beat-up sneakers. Garbage Baby, the fat bastard, settled himself beside Lana, looking up at Elliot with shining eyes. He was friendly, despite the previous threats to his trainer. No doubt he say the blonde as another conduit of pets and attention. “S..sorry…” he added once more.

The moment Victor began playing with his hair again he felt something tingle up his spine and through his scalp. It happened quickly before settling into just an overall pleasantness. If he weren’t being held, he might’ve flinched away. He tried very hard to keep looking at the sky, not wanting to know the expression Victor wore as he did this. Surely, it was a bit of a tease. “I-I’m in no rush…gives me m-more time to p-plan.” What was a little waiting for a nice day? He’d waited years for a nice change of pace before he left home after all. [break][break]

“I-I think I’m mostly hungry…” Lana said with a small laugh as he attempted to inject humor into what felt like a very serious proposal. It almost scared him, really. Medical expenses? That could rack up quickly, couldn’t it? He didn’t want Victor to bother. “Nothing will.” Lana assured him, gentle as Victor pet him. He didn’t want him to stop, even if the sentiment the man expressed just now felt a little too intense for knowing him barely a week. But then again, when had Victor not been like this. He’d chock it all up to being eager to start their relationship together. “I a-avoid trouble for the m-most part.” Lana didn’t understand how fucking ironic this sentence was.

Or well, ask to be taken. “I have a c-couple places in m-mind.” Hoenn had a lot of cool things to do that opened up once you have money. Fancy that. And considering Victor was about to put him under contract and had chosen the last couple of places they’d gone to, he figured it was time to demand a little more from him. [break][break]

He shook his head at the question. It really was dark if Victor couldn’t tell how flushed Lana was. “No. Y-You’re like…a heater.” He explained. The proximity to him had certainly kept him warm, whether it was his own embarrassment or Victor just putting out enough heat for the both of them. Either way it wasn’t all bad. Not like Lana was sweating….much. He’d already gotten stressed enough before because of the fight. “I don’t really g-get sick actually. Just some sniffling…maybe a light f-fever.” He’d become surprisingly resistant to the common cold at least. Better for him since he often didn’t really have a way to take care of himself. Pokemon Center Chanseys could only do so much for you.
