The more she looks around, the more she begins to question if she's a little underdressed for such an event. But before she can consult her dearest Espeon on the matter, her partner arrives with grace and a smile, taking a seat across from her and patiently awaiting her hand.

"O- oh, uhm... I'm Amaryllis, but you can just call me Lis!" She chirps, gently shaking Hailee's hand and quickly letting go. If anything, she just prays that the other doesn't notice how she's shaking from her nerves. "You look nice too! I mean, your outfit is really cute... Do you like fashion, or anything?"

She's quick to take her cup of tea and nervously sips, quietly leaning back into her seat and wishing she could hide away. Even Dianthus struggles to offer her encouragement, simply nuzzling her cheeks against Lis' calves as she purrs. Not even a few seconds in and she's already stumbling... How is she meant to last several minutes?

Colourful... and perhaps a little too crowded. The more Amaryllis looks around, the more she finds herself daunted by the thought of heading to her own table. Meeting a stranger? Talking to them?

As soon as Mars had mentioned getting out of Sootopolis, she'd leapt on the offer without a moment's hesitation. It wasn't that the city had been bustling with criminals and fights, but rather a lack of business that was driving her up the walls. After Rocket's takeover, Sootopolis had seen fewer and fewer visitors by the day and that often left her with blocks of time that she had no clue what to do with.

"Once with Killian..." She smiles back, idle hands carefully pinning back loose strands of hair. "I didn't get to see a lot, but it's really pretty!"

Dianthus struts before them, carrying herself with the confidence of someone who's been here a dozen times. During the last trip, she'd made sure to memorise the route to the most scenic of places they'd passed by. With any luck, they'll be able to visit those areas once more before going deeper into the cavern.

Time really does pass quickly when you're preoccupied with your thoughts. It's as if the universe is trying to tell them to be immersed in the moment for as long as they can be, to enjoy whatever fleeting moments they may have in their present and their futures to come.

Though she smiles back, there remains a hint of sadness upon her lips - Wistful wishes to have company as pleasant as this once more.

The words come out before she even realises it herself, her fingers tracing the edges of the hot springs as she briefly considers how to phrase her next few words. "I- uhm... Encouragement comes from the most unexpected of places, yet it's still welcomed all the same. Though she can't say she'll pour all of her heart out into a book that others would read, she's certain that some parts of her true feelings would show.

Still, great beaches... diving spots and hiking trails... Overall, it sounds more and more like a refined and expanded version of Sootopolis with its seaside appeal. She can almost hear the sound of waves crashing against the beach.

If it truly weren't for the angry, charging bear trying to maul them, she probably would have just closed her eyes and noped out of having to deal with some sort of pyrokinetic.
