with his hand still in a precarious spot, he leans down to whisper into her ear:

"let's get out of here."

[attr="class","niko i"]it's only when her hand slips (or yanks) out of his that he looks over, seeing her on the ground with a manectric looming over her. having been too distracted in dealing with the pack, he must've missed one that deviated away.

"shit—"

even with no pokemon near him, he snaps a hand down and grabs the manectric by its neck. his muscles strain as he lifts it up before tossing it over to the side. it smacks against a tree, falling to the ground with a yelp.

and it's then that he takes a step forward, putting himself between poor luka and the manectric.

"i got you, miss."

[attr="class","niko i"]shadows may loom over him but his focus is solely on her. even after, she holds it, willing him to stay with her. he exhales a warm breath that rolls against her bare skin.

"don't worry."

even then, he remains vigilant, aware enough to realize that they are not alone. perhaps this is just another universe in the same multiverse. either way, his words hold true.

"i'll keep you safe."

he chuckles, amused at the questions asked because they sound like what one would ask on a first date. which is what this could be, actually, if he stopped to give it any thought.

"i own a few establishments in verdanturf, nothing too fancy, all of them a little too dirty."

no point in trying to hide who he really is: a criminal.

"as for fun..." he mulls it over, shrugging a shoulder. "i dunno, really. drinking, partying, fucking? do those count as hobbies?"

niko's on his second drink by the time the target finally stands to head towards the bathroom. he takes another swig before throwing a look over his shoulder, watching as elliott disappears into the bathroom as well.

and sure enough, the target's at the urinal, almost slouched over from the influence of alcohol.

gang leader accused of multiple crimes, convicted of none. as odd as it might be, that in itself tells a story of someone who has people in his pockets.

"that's it."

and just like that, a pack of manectric starts to make their way over to them. he sees them through the clearing, sees their movements.

"get them, bubbles!"

ditto!manectric rushes forward along with his corviknight as they look to quickly handle the pack.

more than good, actually, as his fingers continue to caress against her thigh. it's easy to get lost in the gesture, and soon he finds himself focusing on nothing in particular.

"how big is the circle?"

he continues to walk along, guided by nothing but her.

[attr="class","niko i"]niko isn't a picky eater by any means — quite the opposite, actually — there isn't much he wouldn't eat. so, after a quick scan of the menu, he decides on a few orders as the waitress approaches them.

"waffles and eggs for my friend here, and i'll have the cinn-a-stack, sirloin tips and eggs, and the original french toast."

he slides the menu back over, flashing an unabashed grin over at jessie.

"i eat a lot."

which makes sense, considering his size.

"mmm, that sounds good."

his stomach growls the same.

with a sigh, he kisses her forehead, then pulls away if only so they can start walking towards the diner. his hand still finds hers, however.

"come on. i'm starving after that."

he's tugged away away from the center of the field, towards the trees that'll provide them cover. it's there that he releases his corviknight, and though its typing puts it at a disadvantage, its sheer toughness and PRESSURE more than make up for it.

"it'll work! just do your best."

for once, he's being actually supportive. maybe it's because of her hand in his?

either way, he and his team ready themselves for the manectric.
