Embarrassed despite being the instigator herself, memories of Gwyar's counter teasing always trumped hers. Still, there was a knowing smile mingling as she turned to gaze at him across her shoulder. "Well played."

Now fully functional, Brynnhildr muttered something as she approached the machine and started tinkering with the systems. More lights came on as she continued, until a large disc ejected at their right. Pocketing the harddrive, she turned back, motioning the Rotom that he could stop, and returning it and its pokéball back into Gwyar's hands.

"That should do the trick. Time to get out of here." she'd mutter, dragging him along.

Hearing Gwyar silently question the integrity of the destroyed machinery made Brynn chuckle. "Well yes. Outside might look completely wrecked, but the wiring's cut cleanly-- which is an easy fix. All it needs is a bit of rewiring and figuring out which plugs belong where, have Rotom do a little zap, and we should be good to go."

She was rambling really, her focus on the task in front of her to such an extend that she partially forgot this wasn't the time or place to be rambling so casually. It was a good thing she could multi-task.

When Gwyar mentioned he would be counting, Brynn smirked from inside. "Oh, I'm counting on it."

With the Rotom's pokéball safely tucked away, Brynn continued working, even managing to keep most of the mending process quiet until the final stages. Regrettably, a few powerful hits made for extremely loud bangs that echoed through the area. She'd pop out again a few moments after, hair looking slightly disheveled as her gaze shifted left and right in search for danger.

The coast seemingly clear, she exited her small working space completely and sat back up, releasing Gwyar's Rotom. "Rotom time!"

She'd sit back, pulling out a bundle wires attached to a large circuit board. "Hey buddy, I'm gonna need your help with this little thing," she motioned for it to get closer and pointed out several areas. "Could you release small continuous jolts unto this plate until I say stop?"

The Rotom seemed to whirr in understanding, going to work the very moment Brynn laid down the circuit board.

"Pried it loose so it can be used as a conductor for the wires, since we won't be needing the other machinery," Brynn looked at Gwyar as she explained, extending her hand for him to help her up. "Should only take a minute to have it entirely functional." she'd smile, not letting go of his hand.

"Speaking of which," her voice lowered a little as she leaned in closer, the teasing sparkle apparent in her eyes."what exactly were you planning on doing if I didn't make it on the 10 minute mark, hmmm, Gwyar?" Brynn would grin and lean back again before he'd be able to reply, slowly dragging her eyes back towards the main computer as it slowly whirred to life.

"Depends on whether you'd like to fix this thing up or not. At the very least I'd like to extract the harddrive from the system. We could use force, but chances are we'd either damage it,"

She took a step back to look at it. "Or get shocked doing so. But a Rotom should definitely do. Boreas would probably fry the mainframe, I fear."

Reaching inside the small black bag attached to her thigh, Brynn pulled out an adjustable wrench and a screwdriver, kneeling in front of the mainframe's pannel and pulling it back; a feat that came about rather easily with the previous damage.

"Honestly, I'm surprised nobody's done that already," she muttered, sticking her head inside and flicking on a small flashlight. "Looks surprisingly good, all things considered." Her voice sounded muffled from inside the machine, but when she popped her head back out of it, the smile she gave Gwyar was a reassuring one.

"10 minutes, give or take. But it might get a bit loud, so I'm counting on you for protection." Brynn winked teasingly before disappearing back into the machine.

Somehow the gesture calmed her more than she'd ever openly admit, but the smile on her face as she looked up at him was a telltale sign. "Hmm, let's hope it remains that way."

The further it stayed away the better. And when Gwyar's attention was captured by the sword-made scars, she made certain to keep those to mind. "Do those marks look familiar to you?" Bryn would ask quietly as they finished examining the tracks and wandered over to the base's ruins.

She was curious what was on the knight's mind. Even when her eyes were roving the broken equipment and machinery for signs of life or salvageable goods, her attention largely remained on Gwyar. Out of habit from a life long since passed, perhaps. She felt a little less lost whenever he was near. And that feeling had only grown ever since the Treasures of Ruin had clashed with Galar's heroic canines.

A large hole in the wall gave entrance to the base's inner structure, one which she carefully navigated until she was sure the building would hold. Her hands running across the interface of what appeared to be the main computer; although heavily damaged, its core components still seemed to work.

"I think I might be able to get these going again," she knocked the back of her middle finger against the screen. "But I'll need a bit of time... and electricity."

Brynnhildr nodded solemnly, her gaze shifting from Gwyar to the destroyed structure. Whatever-- whomever had caused this destruction had left little of the base standing. Wasteful destruction, but perhaps she could still salvage some of the electronical devices.

Not taking any chances, her Vikavolt, Lucario and Clefairy followed not far behind, keeping an eye on the surroundings together with Gwyar's team. She'd still had some in reserve, but old memories kept her from throwing her entire team into the face of battle... even if that battle had yet to occur.

Closer to the destroyed base, strange tracks mingled with that of mortal men; larger and deeper than other tracks. As if whatever had moved here towered above all else. Had it been part of the destruction?

Just thinking about it made the Unovan shiver, a pang of fear like she'd felt once before overtaking her the longer the stared at the tracks.

"Gwyar...," she'd pause, unsure how to explain the sensation, and ended up just pointing at the tracks. "Look."

"What could it be?"

Brynn nods, leaving the battlefield to Gwyar and his pokémon. "You heard him, Delta, just wait for my sign and dig as widely as you can."

All she has to do is wait for the opportune moment.

The very moment they clash, Brynn gives her Drilbur the go-ahead. It disappears underground almost instantly, clawing away at the ground that grows to mulch underneath their might. Using the vibrations of those above it, it deflects the main field of battle as not to disrupt the soil there, making a turn once it knows it has passed the Ursaluna's back.

And then it starts digging in a single line behind it, over and over again, a tunnel as wide as its reach allows it to. Once. Twice. Above ground the only tell-tale sign is the subtle change of the upper layer- less solid, like someone just having overturned a field.

When the Drilbur pops back up it nearly catapults itself out of the ground, letting out a loud cry -amplified by the cave's echoes- to distract the Ursaluna and to warn Gwyar, before disappearing back into the ground, out of harm's way.

Elgafar perks his head, looking at something sauntering about in the surf off in the distance. His interest is immediate, and before she can warn it to stay close it dashes off, its blue-tipped mane whipping about like a little beacon against its black fur.

"El, no! Get back here!"

She puts herself off and sprints after her Zorua, but the small fox is far faster, already jumping off into the surf to play with the large draconic fish being. Elgafar's happily bouncing around the Dracovish, unable to contain its excitement around the large pokémon's physique. Brynnhildr's attempts at trying to lessen the Zorua's abundance seem to do little to temper it however, forcing her to return the small bundle of excitement into its pokéball as to not upset the other pokémon.

With anxious eyes she tries to gauge the Dracovish's reaction to its explosive meeting before trying to spot the Dracovish's trainer. When she spots a young woman nearby building a rather elaborate sandcastle, she waves, then makes her way towards her.

"Excuse me miss, is that Dracovish yours by any chance? My apologies for my Zorua's behavior, I hope it didn't bother your Dracovish too much." Brynn apologises with a small bow.

When the voice resonated, calling her to stop l, she should have known. But as they say, curiosity killed the cat… or the girl. Nearly.

Gwyar Wledig's reflexes proved stronger than hers; his hand already reaching for her arm and pulling her back, out of harm's way.

The abomination that resembled a Regirock, created from the boulders she'd touched only moments prior, continued its rampage. Uncaring of those inside it started thrashing at the walls, tearing down years and years of hard work in its fit of rage, forcing those inside to flee lest they wished to be buried alive.

Running for her life alongside Gwyar Wledig , the exit seemed in sight; the sudden light as they burst out the tomb blinding them. Yet when her eyes grew used to the new intensity, everything had changed. The scent of smoke and sulfur stung in her nose, ancient Hoenn having been replaced by the insides of a tatami-styled gym arena. The face before her one she'd only seen in news articles.

"Fuschia has already fallen. nothing you accomplish here will be of any worth."

What little the windows allow her to perceive make it a believable tale; there is in fact little they can do. Except face and beat the one who made it happen. She looks at Gwyar for guidance, knowing fully well what his decision will be-- one of the few feelings that persisted even after the memories of alternate Galar had started fading. Together she was sure they could beat the Rocket boss before them.

When she finds herself bumping into an invisible wall she suddenly realises why Walsh seems so increasingly cocky; he knows about invisible maze they find themselves in. Her hands find and knock on the surface a few time as he taunts them further. And then there's not one, but many of the same. Copies of Walsh spread throughout the gym.

"Do we split up?" she asks Gwyar while calling her shiny Zorua to her side, its blue-tipped head flicking back and forth between the twosome before perking its head and waiting for orders-- or an oncoming attack.

Her eyes were positively sparkling when she regarded the ancient structure in the midst of its construction; seeing them in their full glory in the present day was one thing, but seeing them actually being constructed in front of her own eyes... that was a whole different feeling. She knew her parents would have loved this, had they had the chance to live through one of these simulations.

Being able to talk to the people has her stoked, yet their reply immediately tempers her excitement into something more cautious. "Harnessing the power from outer space... why does that sound like trouble waiting to happen?" she meets Gwyar's eyes with a frown as they make their way down the tomb. When they enter the main room holding the glowing purple material, alongside a series of boulders, Brynn's sigh is long and audible.

"Don't they say 'problems always come in pairs'? Leaving seems like the right option, still... I just can't help but wonder..." The Unovan murmurs, wandering closer to the boulders, gently reaching out to further inspect them. "What's the use of these? I mean, the glowing purple thing seems quite obviously that power source they're trying to harness. And there's no money in the world that'll get me to touch it. No sir." she shakes her head, further empathising her dislike of the glowing item.

What... what was that thing? Even compared to the Ursaring it seemed enormous, hulking over those present before it like they were mere pups. But these pups were ready to fight it if necessary.

And by the look of it, fighting it wouldn't only be a necessity, but an inevitable turn of events.

The only thing that worked in their favor as the lumbering bear made its way out of the cave's depth was that even the Ursaring surrounding them seemed to back away from it. If she hadn't had her eyes pinned on the gigantic monster in front of her, she would've seen how some had even decided to abandon their prey, choosing safety over rewards.

Gwyar, who'd positioned himself before her, now quietly pushed her back, planning on taking the beast down alone. Brynn hesitated but moved back a bit, not wanting to get in the knight's way. She could go even further back and allow him all the space he needed to fight together with his team, but her heartstrings stung at the mere thought, as if that meant abandoning him for her own safety.

Reaching out towards her bag, Brynn fished out one of her other pokéballs and tossed it out, letting her shiny Drilbur Delta take the stage.
