she's met with a man who stands tall before her, and she can't help but to eye him for a little bit, blinking a few times as she registers that he's.. there. not because he had little presence - no, it was quite the opposite - but because she couldn't quite believe that.. something this attractive just happened to be standing right there, in front of her, and it's almost a shame if she didn't take a moment to appreciate it. [break][break]

she doesn't take too long, however, as she collects herself and instead throws the pokeball to a stray slowpoke that emerged from a leaf pile. bam, scapegoat. gold eyes smile up at him as she straightens herself back up, and she instinctively tucks her hair behind one of her ears. a low hum sounds between her lips, and the smile grows wider. [break][break]

"of course~" she takes the capsule that failed to catch him (a shame, really) and tucks it back into her bag. "i'm sorry~. it's a bit of a shame, too." a playful flirt, let it be oblivious or otherwise was up in the air. the attention turns back from the bag, to have their eyes meet again (and it's here where she notices how pretty they are). [break][break]

"i'm sorry for that, again. are you hurt?" please say you are, so she has a reason to keep looking - is what she's most certainly thinking. she's unapologetic and shameless.

the budew is shaking, the poor thing. [break][break]

she wishes she had a will-o-wisp right about now, if only to illuminate the dark hallway that's only scarcely lit. she raise her hand to gently pat the budew's head, and she smiles, hushing the little bud pokemon. "it's alright~" she chimes in the dark, its little body sitting in her arms. mielle knows that the pokemon will be okay, but it doesn't look all too convinced.[break][break]

hearing the voice down the hall, she pauses, holding the budew the tiniest bit closer - until she's processed the familiar tone in his voice. although it was slightly wary, she recognizes this tone anywhere (she's heard it more often, nowadays). "hello there~" she greets him so casually, waving her hand as the other arm stays put around the pokemon. her eyes give him the same smile as her lips. [break][break]

"if i didn't know you were on patrol, i would have thought that you came to see me~"

OHHHHHH HE RESPONDED TO HER! her eyes weren't deceiving her! he actually WAVED to her, and she WASN'T hallucinating! the bounsweet smiles, bouncing sporadically, eccentric, like an unown without its fellow letters to coordinate itself with. the sweet, petite fruit bounces her way over, and only stops to begin gently rolling until she's stopped by the dragon's foot. [break][break]

and when she stops, she finds it difficult to roll over and stand back up. so the bounsweet begins to struggle, stuck between the dragon's foot and the cold, hard ground. still, she chimes and smiles up at the larger pokemon "i'm just very happy!" she chirps, still trying to swing her body to free herself "i always like meeting a new friend!"

a small world indeed. [break][break]

and she's somewhat grateful for it, really. he's a sight for sore eyes, that's for sure. and so she smiles seeing his face. it's always nice to know the person you're supposed to be working with. though when she looks up, she's also greeted by the sun (and looking up wasn't exactly inevitable, seeing how the man nearly towers over her with little effort). she hopes that the sun isn't too harsh, lest she be left with a farmer's tan by the end of it. [break][break]

"small world indeed~" the woman chimes in response, lifting her hand to cast a shade over her eyes. she doesn't have to keep her attention on him for too long, however, as she turns her head a bit to glance at the large.. fish? tail? fish.. tail pokemon? what in arceus' name was that? [break][break]

"mm.. have you seen galarian pokemon before? they're still quite new in this area~" she casually asks with a smile on her face, and she means to look back at the wooloo, but it's.. so difficult to look away from the anomaly.

it's hard to believe that someone so sweet was a criminal. [break][break]

they're both in the same boat, and it's some sort of sick irony that they're both involved in this sort of work (it makes it impossible for them to lead a normal life - not one apart from their civilian moniker - but she very damn well tries). the woman smiles, softly, gazing out to the stars. there's something about this silence and unspoken comfort that feels nostalgic. something that washes her with nostalgia. [break][break]

the memories hurt. it puts a smile to her lips as she remembers, but the chill will always strike colder than the last. [break][break]

she raises her chin to give him a glance, then gives him the same, honey-filled smile as she nuzzles her cheek against his arm. he's warm. he's a friend, and though she knows they share the sheets on occasion, she hasn't felt this warm in a while. she'll tell herself to move away and to stop getting so attached, but it wouldn't hurt to revel and entertain the thoughts when he does push her away, right? [break][break]

"because you're warm~" she smiles, burying the lower half of her face against the scarf. "if i'm stepping over any bounds, do let me know~.."

she's been to galar, once. [break][break]



it's where she got this little apple pokemon, who decided that it would be fun to roll around with the wooloo. unfortunately, it seems like the other two pokemon at her side had the same idea, and so the three with their round bodies, in all their glory, began to tumble and roll around on the grass, trying to keep up with all the fluffy pokemon. good lord. [break][break]



she'd half the mind to participate in some horse-riding while she was here, but she had a mission to do. hence, she was going to occupy herself with.. her actual work. she keeps her gaze upon the trio of pokemon, leaning against the fence with a small smile on her face - then she sees.. something out in the distance. [break][break]



.. what in god's name was that?[break][break]



like any good, curious person, she approaches the dragon, only realizing who the trainer was shortly after approaching. "oh, hello~" she'd wave "are you here to look after the wooloo, too?~"

rollin' her way downtown[break][break]

doo do doo do doo dodoododo.. how did the song go again? the bounsweet could have sworn that the song went a certain way, but she couldn't put her (non-existent) finger on it.. oh well. if she couldn't remember, surely, it means that it wasn't anything important![break][break]

for most of her time, she was hanging around under a tree, in fear that an unfezant would try to scoop and gobble her juicy little pomme rear up. it's happened, apparently, a little applin told her that it happened before, and therefore it had to be true! open skies equal bad, surely. [break][break]

know what else was bad? stranger danger, and yet that never stopped her from jumping for joy, seeing a dragon not too far away wave at her. could you believe it? something was waving? at HER? WAUW.[break][break]

"HIIII MISTER" she pauses, and her tiny round body begins to bounce in place, again "OR MIIIIISS! I CAN'T REALLY TELL FROM HERE!"

surprisingly enough, she isn't scared. [break][break]

perhaps it has something to do with her living in the dormitories here, and being so accustomed to the submarine, that she doesn't mind the darkness that comes with it, and doesn't mind how spooky it may have been in the dead of the night. rather than being put off, she hums, softly, making her merry way from her dormitory room to the rest of the west wing with little care. after all, she has her sweet little budew in her arms - why should she be scared? [break][break]

the ghost should get its priorities straight. [break][break]

though in another multiverse, she may have jumped at the little bump in the night. she'd be scared maybe a few years ago (but now she's found something worthy of her fear, and she's experienced it twice, thrice over). a soft squeal from the budew echoes down the empty halls of the dormitories, however, as she opens the door. [break][break]

"mmn?" she hums, patting the sprout of the grass type. "hello? is someone awake?"

a lie is a lie, and he's keen enough to see through it. [break][break]

she hoped that he wouldn't be able to, but he's sharp as ever. still, she's stubborn, and tries to maintain her gaze upon the full moon that illuminates the blanket of twilight. a hum escapes her lips as she weighs the options, and her eyes lower to the flame before them. it's warm, and it's comforting, and it reminds her a bit of a home she had before rocket. [break][break]

"mmn.." her lips press together, and she smiles as she loosens the scarf around her neck. with a casual hum and persisting smile she gently places the scarf over his shoulders, and stretches it until it can loop around her neck. mielle is content, leaning her head against his arm as the fire warms her from in front. [break][break]

and she smiles, nuzzling against his arm so casually, even when she knows they're only friends. [break][break]

but she can hope, just for one night, right?

chilled air kisses rosy skin as she tugs her scarf up, slightly, in an attempt to fend off the breeze. [break][break]

but she smiles, feeling the frigid air as she gazes out to the lights illuminating the night. it's certainly a view that she's missed, and one that she's never taken the time to enjoy fully. it still surprises her that she was invited out tonight, but she still wears a smile to her lips as her cheeks raise. [break][break]

at his words, she glances over and shakes her head, no matter how much a lie it might be (she's used to warmer weathers, where the flowers bloom and sway in the wind, ready to be pollinated for their nectar). "not too cold, don't worry~" she pumps one fist in front of her, a gesture to reassure him. she tries to keep the attention off her. [break][break]

"the view is really stunning, tonight~."

there's the distinct smell of pumpkin spice.[break][break]

because of her? most certainly. there was nothing better than a warm cup of pumpkin spice to warm her hands up in the autumn, and she hopes that it'll attract the attention of some other pokemon (if her salandit's scent wasn't already doing enough). she's wandering so aimlessly around the falls, and she thinks she's alone - until she sees the figure of a petite dragon, and her eyes light up (we ignore how she completely skipped over the man who towered over it, standing right there). "hey, hey, do you see that?~" the woman lights up, pulling out a pokeball to chuck at the dragon.[break][break]

... and it comes to a surprise when it bounces off the arm of the man after she misses her mark. she runs towards where she's thrown her pokeball, and that's when she finally notices him. [break][break]

"... ah! you aren't a pokemon!"
