Before long, however, he averted his gaze towards the smaller remainder of the equipment they would need, quickly gearing himself with his own equipment before taking care to help her with his own.[break][break]

The last part was to toss one of the Pokeballs he’d brought with him atop the water’s surface, catching it as it bounced back to him and hooking it onto his person as a familiar, mismatched water type kept itself afloat with an endearing amount of effort (the sight of its flippers keeping itself afloat was an odd sight to behold, given its heavier lower body) before dropping himself down into the water.[break][break]

He quickly grasped onto one of its shoulders, and—once the woman joined them and settled herself upon its remaining shoulder—gently patted the back of his head in signal, seemingly prompting it to stop moving its flippers in favor of simply letting them sink through the waters.

”Hm~... I was eying the wings, myself…” An absentminded murmur to say the least, though he seemed to inherit some semblance of further awareness once more as her hand crossed the page. He leaned back slightly to help her reach, glancing towards her from the corner of his eye all the while. ”I did see that they had cocktail shrimp, too… I might just get an order of that…”[break][break]

He hummed, pondering the latter parts of her words with a smile.[break][break]

”I’d also be fine with a few shots~...” he hummed, although crossed his arms while leaning back into the lounge couch behind them with an amused smile. ”I worry what may happen if we drink a little too much, though.”

”Hah~. ‘Not too sappy,’ you say…” he hummed in response, eying her for a shorter while longer before allowing his gaze to drift back towards the aforementioned attraction once more. While a number of neighboring fairgoers came and went around them, he narrowed his eyes with a pensive smile as he pondered his own biases a while longer.[break][break]

Before long, he merely gave a sigh before looking back to her and offering a hand.[break][break]

With a hum, he absentmindedly eyed down the hallways and rooms the employee he’d talk to descended through, though found himself glancing over his shoulder at the tug of his sleeve. For a couple of moments, he eyed the woman talking to him before furrowing his brows and tilting his head, turning her way to attain a better gaze as he noted the specific implication of her words.[break][break]

”...Are you suggesting we use that to our advantage?” he asked, soon raising one of his brows, instead. ”Would that work on Pokemon other than a Salandit…?”

Within an instinctive manner, he held onto the tips of her fingers as she reached out towards him, though had sought to move his hands along her arms, instead, as a means to secure a better grip as she shifted herself down. ”Then this was a good a time as any to make the trip, no~?” he hummed, sparing her a watchful eye to ensure her wellbeing as her feet touch upon the ground once more. ”It’ll take some care on the way back, but it’ll be worth the travels~.”[break][break]

With that, he lowered both of his arms, though took care to slip one of his along to take her hand once more. Gently pressing his palm against hers, he folded his fingers upon the sides of her hand before beginning to walk and guide her along once more, only stopping several minutes later as the sounds and sight of running water met his senses.[break][break]

He turned towards her when that time came, gesturing to the clearing before them.[break][break]

”...Is there any place in particular you’d like to set up~?”

He smiled more at her words, shifting within his seat before pushing himself from the cushions and standing. ”That’s because I’m always excited to see you, my dear,” he called out with a gladdened rise within his done, walking after her (and gently patting the Dracovish’s head in passing) within a brisk stride. As she began to set her bags down, he placed a deft, soft handed touch against her shoulder before leaning over and kissing her cheek and repeating the gesture to the remaining.[break][break]

”So, what’s on the menu today, mmn~?” he asked with a continuous smile, both brows raising (albeit one slightly less than the other, due to its respective eye staying closed). ”Let me know what I can do to help, mi amore~.”

Needless to say, he did his best to distract himself with the oceans around them after turning himself around.[break][break]

He made quick work of readying himself after the fact, though. After having suited himself appropriately and gotten himself zipped up, he had went on to run his hands over his sleeves, as well as the curves of his neck to ensure that no gaps and the like had made themselves present. At the sound of her voice, however, he perked up and glanced over his shoulder, and then soon turned around in full to attain a better gaze.[break][break]

”Mmn, a little bit~.” With his cheeks rising slightly, he merely shrugged while glancing back down towards his wrists in examination as he wore a soft, idly amused smile. ”Better discomforted than suffering hypothermia, though, no~?”

Although he hadn’t averted his gaze from the menu he’d held, he couldn’t help but grow faintly amuse at the specks of movement’s he’d seen from the corner of his eye as she shifted closer (lucky as he was that she happened to be on his good side). The aforementioned amusement only seemed to grow more at the touch of her head upon him, and he simply tilted his head towards her to rest his own against her in instinctive response.[break][break]

”You don’t want to place a couple of orders first, though~?” he hummed, raising a brow as he glanced towards her from the corner of his eye at long last. ”A song selection would only take a minute or so, no? It’d take a little while for them to prepare food and the like…”

Although a particular attraction had already been in his mind as they properly entered, he gave a low, seemingly thoughtful hum to himself as if pondering her words and question. Before long, however, he glanced her way before nodding towards her direction and briefly lifting his gaze towards it. ”I did have an idea of one, as…sappy as it may be~,” he responded with a touch of amusement within his tone.[break][break]

Upon tracing his gaze, she would notice notice some sort of love tunnel-like attractions.

His face scrunched slightly in some degree of confusement, but all while an equally amused and confused smile tugged upon his lips instinctively. ”I hadn’t been aware that we lived in a fantasy world…” he mused jokingly, closing the door behind them after watching her walk into the facility. ”A love potion would definitely be an interesting concept, though. Frightening, yes, but interesting in its own right~...”[break][break]

Upon entering, he glanced around before quickly making eye contact with one of the employees, offering them a smile and explaining the situation. He nodded at them as they briefly walked off. He figured it was to confirm details.[break][break]

”...Mn. Hopefully this won’t take too long, though…”

He laughed, sucking in a quick, bracing breath as he pulled her up with him. ”I know we aren’t. Have faith~.” With his hand still tightened around hers, he took care to pace back a step or two while glancing over his shoulder to guide himself, lest he fall over another edge. ”It’s off the trail, but I’ve visited this area several times before, so no need to worry~.”[break][break]

He looked over one of the edges of the boulder, and—after assessing the best place to lower down from—he jumped down onto a flatter patch of ground beneath, turning around to gaze up at her while opening his arms and gesturing her down.[break][break]

”There will be plenty of open space for you to set up, too~,” he added, his smile broadening. ”We simply need to get there— so come, let me help you back down.”

He perked up at the sound of the bell, glancing over towards the door.[break][break]

Before he could even finish a call across his abode, he’d heard the heavier steps sounding from the upper floor of the apartment, joined by a roused and seemingly excited screech of a cry as the steps grew louder. Blinking, azure hues shifted towards the staircase some ways away, and he couldn’t help but smile as he watched a certain anomaly of his already beating him to the punch of his unspoken request.[break][break]

He watched as it struggled with the door for a short while (flippers were hard to navigate tasks with, after all) before it seemed to finally get the door open. The woman would find herself greeted by a familiar, mismatched drake as it gave a few more cries (yips?) in excited greeting, waving a flipper at her erratically all the while.[break][break]

Its trainer, meanwhile, leaned over the back of the couch, barely catching a glimpse of the doorway from around the creature.[break][break]

”Good to see you made it safely, my dear~!” he called out with a smile. ”Go ahead and make yourself comfortable. You can set everything down in the kitchen~.”
