For one thing, there had been a sense of nostalgia that he felt upon seeing all of the fairgoers and attractions from the moment they’d arrived. Based upon what he’d been told in the past, he wasn’t properly from Unova, but even then, he felt as though he had visited enough in the past for it to be a more prominent area to him. It was something he’d near to forgotten ever since other priorities surfaced, but as he bore witness to all of the sights before him, he couldn’t help but feel those same touches of familiarity again.[break][break]

He peered around with some degree of interest and awe, alike, as people came and went around them. ”...This is definitely a change in scenery, no~?” he mused with a smile upon his lips. ”Definitely makes things livelier than usual, as well…”

He was oddly silent during the trip to the flagged location, but it wasn’t out of skepticism, nor was it out of discomfort. If anything, it was due to being so deep in thought due to the solution that needed to be procured. By no means was he a Pokemon breeder, nor was he too familiar with the kind of Pokemon they were tasked with helping, but as odd as the request was, he still tried to put as much of his mind into forming some sort of solution as possible.[break][break]

”...Do you think food aphrodisiacs would work for them like they do for us…?” he wondered aloud absentmindedly, furrowing his brows as they neared the door. A pensive hum sounded through his lips as he reached out to the handle, pulling out and holding it open as he glanced towards his companion. ”...Would they have different aphrodisiacs than we would?”

He did have to admit, though- there was some degree of further caution and tenseness that he felt compared to the other times he’d walked along this path. After all, throughout those times, he’d had both of his eyes. It may not have been the first time since the incident that he revisited the trail, but even then, it was always better to be safer than sorry, especially when half of a person’s field of vision was rendered moot.[break][break]

Nevertheless, though, he glanced over his shoulder as he walked along, offering an arm and hand out with a smile as a means of offering aid a certain other, despite his own worries.[break][break]

”Come, my dear,” he started off with a warmness to both smile and tone, alike. ”We’re not too far from the end. This is the final stretch~.”

By no means was he a five star chef, but by no means was he anything to fret over, either. In the grand scheme of things, he was simply a mediocre chef. Often times, he could really only make the basic of necessities (with the exception of his own cuisine, in which case he was often uncharacteristically strict), but had otherwise been at a moderate loss when it came to techniques and the like- so, when it was revisited in conversation and he was offered to be taught, he figured that capitalizing on the opportunity would do no harm.[break][break]

The least he could do between the offer and travel time would be to buy the needed ingredients, himself- so that’s precisely what he did. He, in fact, had done just that earlier in the day, and after cleaning and sorting everything out for the approaching evening, he’d simply taken it upon himself to lounge while waiting for the time to pass. With his legs stretched upon one of the rests before the couch he sat upon, he rested his arm atop the back of said couch as he eyed the television and the commercials playing as he waited patiently for the agreed time.

He yawned softly, dropping down into a camping seat he’d set out. Although it had still been a few hours until sunset, he took the moment to take a breather as his gaze fell upon the flame crackling before him. Humming softly, he eyed it for a small while before reaching towards the side, plucking a couple of smaller, thinner pieces of lumber and tossing it into the fire pit it resided within before lounging back within his seat again.[break][break]

His gaze then strayed towards a few creatures no far distance away as they, too, lounged idly; the two, ground-oriented of the three merely sitting and gazing around as the remainder of the three seemed content with laying down with wings furled, and its tail curled around its form comfortably. The man, himself, gave a soft smile under his breath as he eyed the flame once more, opting to scoot his chair closer as he reached out to stir the opt that hung above it a few times.[break][break]

Find it odd that this is a common camping food in Galar, of all places… he thought to himself, eventually bringing the ladle he held to a slow stop while examining the contents. ...Damn me if it doesn’t smell good, though.

Though more time had passed since his initial insisting, it had been clear that the concern within both mannerism and gesture, alike, wouldn’t diminish within the scaled creature’s demeanor anytime soon- and to that, his trainer gave another, softer smile and sigh of defeat. ”...Thank you, Sentinel,” had been his choice of words soon after, drowned gently by a hum following them as he continuously ran his fingers along his head.[break][break]

He’d received a low, quieted growl in acknowledgment as he finally turned his head to look across the clearing, once more, quickly finding himself eye to eye with another, scragglier drake across the way. Blinking, the man turned while still seated, and after some time, found himself eying the creature as it floated closer. Before long, he found himself staring up at it little more than a few feets’ worth of distance off, and after some contemplation (and a smaller, yet otherwise profound cry of friendliness), he gave it a small smile before taking one of the spare capsules from his person.[break][break]

After a final glimpse to gauge its demeanor, he reached out and gently tapped the orb onto its head.[break][break]

He held her hand firmly within their shake before pulling it back, tucking it within the opposing arm as he folded both atop his chest within an idle cross. ”This definitely does seem like the sort of place that could lead somewhere like that, anywho~,” he added on with a gentle hum, watching the departed lizard scurry along for a small while more, and then towards a couple of other creatures that seemed to appear in due time.[break][break]

Honestly speaking, I wouldn’t really be picky~,” he mused on with a gentle shrug, returning the gaze offered to him with a touch of playfulness within his own. Crossing his arms, his lips tugged faintly more in tandem with his idle curiosity and enjoyment alike, and he tilted his head ever so slightly. ”...Although I will say that there’s something about a home cooked meal that can’t be replaced by anything else~.”
