"I don't see any carrots nearby, so a pebble can be a good substitute for its nose" Nia muses as she contributes her artistic sense to the Snowboy, tilting her head admiring her job.

"Seeing how it is round, how about..." Nia ponders for a good name but after a while of thinking, her brain ends up with a certain simple name "Chonnk. Not really the greatest name idea but it sounds cute, don't you think? Chonk the Snowboy." Nia nods.

"Not really, but I guess putting up some formalities when one is going to challenge a gym wouldn't hurt me," Nia says casually with a smile. Appraising the rules, making her eyebrow raised slightly. She wasn't expecting that she would face a city-crisis quest like this, she was expecting something smaller scale than this. However, she won't be backing out now and it still sounds like it would be fun. "I do have a question but I feel like I know the answer" Nia mutters as she points to the 'one final crisis' sentence. "I guess you can't tell me what that final crisis beforehand right?" Nia tries her luck with a smile hoping that he tells her a hint. Despite her love for reading books, she doesn't mind spoiler much - She always emphasizes the progression to the end rather than the end itself, so a spoiler for the end never bothers her so much.

She was home alone earlier so she decides to go out, to a place that has the report where a swarm of Eevee and Glaceon fill the Shoal Cave. As interesting as to how Eevee is able to transform to a different variant but Nia knows that Glaceon is superior evolution within the variants line. Now, would the lady of luck be on her side? We'll see or she would make a Rube Goldberg machine to shoo away the bad guys.

There is a new gym in town and from the looks of it, it has quite an interesting option for her to take. After pondering the options, Nia makes a journey to Fallabor to get her mystery gift that is wrapped around the non-traditional battle that is offered by the gym. She wasn't that unfamiliar with the gym leader but she was also not that familiar, she met him once while she was doing ice hunting and from what she is informed, she is filling his previous spot within the minor league gym lineup.

Entering the gym with great vigor, she greets the people and is ready to challenge her first major league gym. "Hello, I am here to challenge the gym in the non-traditional format" Nia announces with a smile.

introduction

A quaint library within Dewford one day has undergone a reconstruction after changing the upper management. What was once known as Dewford Library has changed its name into Dewford Study Center with its five-story building managed by Nia Acadia as she combined the function of a library and a gym led by her where the trainer can test their skill and knowledge about pokemon to prepare themselves for the battle league. It has a detached building that is connected to each other where it holds a pokemon battle between Nia the gym leader and the aspiring trainer. To sign up, all you need to do is to fill the form at the front desk who happens to be Nia herself! The gym battle usually only opens at the weekend from afternoon to evening, so no night battle unless both parties agreed upon it beforehand.[break][break]

THE CHALLENGE

Traditional

1v1 or 2v2 battle - A traditional battle between the trainer and Nia Acadia. However, you need to think smart as Nia value people who works together with their pokemon smartly. [break]

No DESTINY BOND, ONE-HIT KO MOVE, or PERISH SONG
If any of the posters (trainer or Nia Acadia) didn't post within a month, the thread will be archived. If it was due to the gym leader, the trainer can assume that they win the battle. If it is due to the trainer, the trainer can assume that they lost the battle.
No LEGENDARY POKEMON

Non - Traditional

BRAIN OVER THE BRAWN - The trainer will face a series of quizzes regarding the Pokemon world with different styles and difficulties. This 'battle' will be held within the library as they go up for every answer that they answered correctly. On each floor they have three people to ask for a hint and they are given two chances to answer for each floor. However, on the final floor or the fifth floor - They will only have one chance to answer and only have one person to ask for a hint. [break]

It was as expected that the Avalugg won't be down easily and how fast Cian's Snover handles the icy wind. The hail starts to come down. Mahiro smiles as she starts to get giddy with the hail which increases her capability to evade any oncoming attacks, the hail also benefits Nina. "Mahiro stands your ground and Nina, it is your showtime. Engulf the stage with BLIZZARD"

Mahiro's body is covered with a dark grey-ish aura as he uses IRON DEFENSE while Nina lands on the ground and unleashes a strong blizzard that covers the whole ground and is aimed directly at both Snover and Avalug. With the help of the hail, it is close to impossible for them to evade it easily.

As she was walking around, one of the trios that she saw earlier suddenly calls out to her claiming not to bite. The other person also silently encourages her to join them so since both of them are kind enough to invite a stranger like her - Nia decides to approach them. "Sorry for crashing to your group. Was wandering around after finishing my Snowboy since I start to get lonely" Nia greets them with a smile. "My name is Nia, nice to meet you" Nia introduces herself to MATIAS SILPH, Locke Jamison, and Eva Morales - Who is still busy with her snowman. She notices her asking for help with the snowman, not realizing what is happening between Eva and Matias.

"Oh, let me help you there" Nia goes to Eva Morales and helps her to put the top part to where it should be. "If you know the trick, you don't need to be tall to put the upper section of a snowman. Just use lever principle" Nia claims with a smile. Someone once told her about working smart not hard in the past, like how curling gives you more incentive from playing it smart rather than hard.

"Good to be here" Nia answers with a smile as she let out Mahiro and Nina. "Don't worry, this kind of thing is something usual for me," Nia assures him regarding the extra clothing. Cian gestures that he will be letting her take the first move and judging from the pokemon that he picks - This fight could be tricky as they are facing ice with ice. On the bright side, Nia is able to see that Mahiro will be the MVP of this battle if she plays her right.

"Here goes nothing, Nina! unleashes the coldest wind that you can muster! While Mahiro, find the timing to hit your enemy with your hard head!" Nia thrust her arm forward commanding both of her pokemon like a commander. Nina jumps to the sky as she takes a deep breath before unleashing an ICY WIND that covers the whole stage while Mahiro is readying herself and charging right at the Avalugg as her head turn into iron and perform IRON HEAD moves.

Nia stares at Theo for a moment with a blank stare. This man must be a funny man with skewed priorities. A non-time limited event like before - The man has no qualm about utilizing the teleport. However, when it is clear that they don't have much time on hand, he decides to not go with the Teleport method. If he wasn't a funny man, she doesn't know what he is.

"Do you always bring your lockpicking kit everywhere?" Nia asks, letting out a sigh as she takes the kit. Crouching right in front of the keyhole, she starts to tweak the mechanism with the metal rod and the hook from the kit, the book says that a conventional lock should have some pin that she needs to push upward and make sure they stay there until every pin locked to its place and she can turn the lock. However, since this is her first time actually doing it - trying to find the pin and finding the right height is really time-consuming. "It should be anytime now..." Nia lied as she doesn't know how many pins left she need to do but she can feel that she make a progress. Slow progress, but progress regardless.
