just a pokemon. just a pokemon no one's heard of before just a few years ago. a space alien. a monster made of living shadows. sure, her home world (holy fuck, what timeline are they fucking living) has some messed up mons, but the ultra beasts are another caliber of devastating and awful. 

"yeah, that tends to happen when people die?" parker says, voice rising an octave, likening whatever juice is inside ana to, say, her blood. and people can't live without blood. then again, she looks way more robot than human, with her arm ripped off and sparking like that. leaking some type of weird, rainbow-like liquid. 

remus has made fast friends with villentretenmirth and the two of them work together to get the nearly split-apart boat back onto the water. 

"yeahhh, s'long as it floats, right?" she looks up at the fog, at the shapes passing by, completely ignorant of the flesh and blood beneath them.

"let's get the fuck outta here."

as fucked up as it is, there's something kind of sexy about watching a spectral, ooey gooey version of herself get straddled by a gore-ridden blonde and choked out on the sands. (look, nomes, she can still appreciate hot women, okay? she's only human.)

the doppelganger's mouth crisps and looks like a bleached asshole by the time ana is done with it. the rest of it starts to flake and peel apart. parker totters over as whatever pressure keeping her down lets up. smoke curls from her double's orifices like some ungodly ritual.

or a weird incense burner. 

"i know what you are. come out, fucker. you're mine now."

the smoke condenses and two sleepy red eyes blink wide open. before the lecherous little creature can retaliate, parker slaps a ball down on it and sucks it in. 

she offers a hand - oops, wait, shit - and switches to her other one, accounting for ana's lopsided state.

"thanks. that was killer. um, do you need like, a tourniquet?"

when she's on the ground, still dizzy, she sees a vision. there is mud in her eyes and in that mud are shapes - dark mountains, snow falling, a wave creeping ever closer. but closer than all that are smiling faces. faces she recognizes. angelo vestri? GIDEON GRAVES? Naomi Sato?

and then it's gone, as quickly as it had come, and blood is dripping down her nose. but it didn't punch me in my... her stomach heaves. gods, that fucking hurt. her arm goes down to support her as she crunches to stand, legs wobbly. 

her vision is still kinda funny. when she gets to standing, her double glares at her over ana's shoulder, and her muscles star to lock up. 

and then her double is also head over heels, but not in the lovey dovey way. well, maybe kinda. it doesn't really seem like it hated ana doing that to it. it spits something dark (motor oil???) in ana's face and parker's face muscles are working enough to look disgusted. 

the punch busts open its nose, sloughing it off in one fell swoop, revealing black ichor and a red glowing eye. not!parker squeals, voice pitching as though struggling to snap back to composure, and it slams its elbow into the ground, readies its fist like a cannon, and then its fingers contort, going to squeeze around the metal ones on her neck. 

its mouth doesn't move, but somehow it still says, "n̶̠͋ơ̸̪t̶̼̎ ̸̏ͅỉ̸̝f̶̬̏ ̴̗̾į̶̾ ̷̤̈́t̶̻͋a̸͐ͅk̸̺͘e̸̢͝ ̶͖̃y̸͕̑ǫ̴͠u̴̹͝r̶̘͊s̷̨̑ ̵͓́f̷̯̂i̴͕͊r̸̛̘s̸̮̑t̶̮̎.̷̺̌"and it pulls.

she placed what protection she could against nomi's skin, every furtive kiss a small piece of the barrier warding her away from the all the bullshit that's coming. maybe karma'd be good to her, to the both of them, for once in their godsdamned lives. 

nomi's earned that much.

but in the grand scheme of things, her lips and her tongue ain't gonna do shit when the league, the drk triad, or literally anyone else in the universe ('cause it sure seems, at this point, that everyone out there hates them) comes knocking. nah, it won't protect her against the fires of war.

but that's what parker's here for.

there's spittle on the corner of her lip, blood on her knuckles. her hood is up, thick fabric cinched around the corners to hide her iconic pink hair. but fuck, hoenn's hot, and they really don't tell you about the discomforts you feel when you're in the in between parts, catching your breath, palms on your knees. 

she witnesses him. the guy and the kid. and if she hadn't punched the mirror in her gym's locker room as one last fuck you to her reflection, maybe she'd have felt worse, but right now all she can do is stare hard and hope her ceruledge hasn't cut down his fucking parents. 

"ew, gods, fuck," she snaps when said ceruledge sticks the fiery tip of one of her sword hands into the twitching shape of a sizzlipede. it stills, smoldering. 

her comms crackle.

'all nearby rocket agents currently not engaged, move in to mossdeep. the league has called reinforcements!'

"nomi," she murmurs and takes off running. in front of her is the beefcake and she swears under her breath, eyeing the pokemon!beefcake at his side. she has no idea what it is, but ceruledge looks more than happy to fight it. but homeboy is fast and parker's a stamina gal more than anything.

"get me in front of 'em."



ceruledge races forward, leaving embers trailing behind her, eyes burning with wily joy. her lithe form darts around them easily and then she twists, leaping, waving one arm in front of her before she's enveloped in psychic energy. her form blurs and by the time she's hit the ground, it's not her at all. 

mossdeep's glass dome glitters behind her. parker holds up her fists.

"heya, buddy. where ya goin'?"

"gods, babes, you're already so - " she starts, but nomi interrupts, holding the bath bomb up for parker to inspect. to which parker withdraws her playful hand, smile coy, and when she touches the bath bomb's side, she delights in watching it bubble a bit from the moisture. 

"okay, that's kinda hot."

into the tub it goes. she expects a thunk and then, duh, it just bobs right back up, sizzling and scenting the steam with the smells of paradise. her boxers bunch by the hip as she rests her weight against the lip of the tub, teasing the end of nomi's skirt. 

"mmm, yeah? but who? because i'm busy." she hooks the clasp of her own sports bra and teases it off, tossing the garment over by the bathroom door where it joins the growing pile. she wants to take her boxers off and get in the tub and really leave her wanting, but let's be real - parker has a one track mind when it comes to these things. 

so her hands are rough and needy, doing exactly as they're told (with maybe a few detours, namely around the chest and - okay, still on her chest - and then - okay, still on her chest and, it's actually so over, with nomi standing there like that, making those noises and those faces and fuck, please, the water in the tub is going to overflow or get cold or something and parker won't even notice).

and her celebrity crush rises like some crappy hero from an rpg. parker's proud of herself though. she recognizes the pokemon next to her. "yo, me 'n real Melody Miro saw one o' those things in mecha kingdom. made my doll." where did i put that thing...?

she turns out her pockets. "uhh, do you have this thingy? did we get items with us? shit, can i get a sword? nomi, I WANT A SWO - NO, I WANT A LIGHT SABER!"

and right on cue comes the kicker and it's a fuckin' goal - hook, line, and sinker. she's bad at metaphors, okay? still, parker's at least practiced enough to make sure she doesn't look pleased and instead has her Pissed Off face on, which is scary enough to make lesser men piss themselves. 

"uhhhh," she says and paces back and forth like a mangey dog behind avery, reinforcing her goody-two-shoes shield. 

"'cause you're fucked; tits up, ass down, fucked. aves' 'ere'll let me smash your pretty face around if you don't talk."
