The photographer’s simple enough to talk to, didn’t seem like they’d be going out of their way to cause or seek any particular trouble, hopefully, so Lethe could be thankful for that at the very least.

Evidently, the same couldn’t be said of the ocean-haired one. Aries’s tone is harsh, and Lethe is immediately distrusting of the stranger. They had only just met, after all, and she wasn’t doing herself any favors.

“Right. Lethe,” they introduce themself curtly in return, after a moment of more than awkward silence. They find themselves grateful once more that the photographer doesn’t seem difficult; they don’t want to be stuck chasing around or truly saving this person from grave peril if this was to be their partner in those tasks.

This is why they usually only took group jobs if they knew of the others on it. Too late for that now.

Looking at the photographer, they wait for them to answer Aries’s question. They sure as hell aren’t going to.

The heat wasn’t nearly as bad as Lethe had been anticipating. When they’d initially taken the job, they had been somewhat concerned about the long, hot day that it was sure to fall on, but now that it was here it seemed like nothing.

They lean peacefully up against a tree waiting for the photographer they were meant to accompany to arrive. Used to summer jobs, they’d made sure to take a cooler water bottle and sip from it as they waited.

Soon enough, they see one approaching. They’re not alone, however; behind them follows a blue-haired, grumpy-looking person. They don’t look pleased to be there, and Lethe can’t help but huff a little amusedly at the sight. Summer isn’t for everyone, they guess, and this was evidently one such person. They look too tough to be annoyed by a little heat.

They lift a hand to wave at the two, making their way over to greet and join the two.

“Assuming you’re the photographer,” they say to the one holding the camera. Then they turn to the follower, “and you are?...”

Lethe paused to listen to the chanting ahead of them, trying to get a read on how many exactly they’d be dealing with. Cultists was… a newer one for them.

Upon his remark, they glanced at their, staring at him for a moment, after how conversational he had sounded. They hadn’t been sure about him when he’d shown up in an actual suitcoat — who even owns one of those? — and dress shoes to deal with some cultists, and with every passing moment they become less sure, with more vague worry sneaking up on them.

But hey, maybe he’d win them diplomacy points or… whatever. Lethe doubted this would go down in such a way, it never did, but it was interesting to imagine such a turn. In any case, surely they were simply underestimating the man for his choice of clothes. He wouldn’t be here if they weren’t, they assumed.

“Sure. Good a day for it as any,” they agree half-concernedly. They sneak a look down at their watch, “so how do you want to do this?”

Waiting, waiting, and suddenly… they spotted someone. Or rather, they had been spotted by a familiar face — one they hadn’t necessarily expected to see here, but whom they couldn’t be too surprised at the presence of. Isaac, someone they’d met a few times before while on jobs or seeking them.

Another person-for-hire, being in Rocket… sure, it made enough sense. After all, Lethe’s own loyalties had strayed here quickly enough.

“Ah, you,” they greeted him. Then hesitated for a moment at his question, and chose to ignore the smirk.

“That’s one way of putting things, I suppose,” they answered. Things had been slightly rougher in recent times, jobs getting a bit rarer, and Lethe wasn’t one to give up an opportunity where they saw one. And Rocket had offered.

“That’s why you’re here, then?”

They’re curious, they’ll admit, as to what his motivation for being here is. They may be new, but Rocket didn’t exactly seem like something people joined for fun. As far as they knew, it was brutal; a risk they didn’t see people taking lightly, if they knew what was good for them.

…Though, honestly, they weren’t sure if Isaac knew what was good for him; they hardly knew the younger man, but in their personal experience, not knowing those things and running jobs would often go together.

Lethe is tired. And bored. The day hadn’t been too interesting so far, lots of nothing, so they’d decided to pop by headquarters. They’d been nearby, after all. Maybe it’d be a good opportunity to meet other Rockets, as they so desperately needed. They knew the point of many members was to stay hidden, but the fact that so many were so good at it made it difficult to meet anyone. Networking was needed.

It was only just about noon (though to Lethe it felt much later; their proclivity for all-nighters would do that), so they’d just stay for lunch, observe and try to meet who they could, then be off again. Seeking the next job.

Sitting themself down at a table with their paper-bagged lunch, they took the chance to take a quick glance around. They wouldn’t bother staring; that felt like it could be a bad idea, especially being new.
