Well, here we go again. She hadn't been to the dunk tank in a while and decided it would be a good way to add some spice back into the Splashfest for her. Karissa took a brief glance at the person in the tank, gave them a small smile, and launched the ball at the target. Once again, the realization she might be up there next never crossed her mind until the ball left her hand.

Just like with Clamperl Diving, Karissa was starting to develop a bit of a routine for fishing... and she hated that. She spent a decent bit of time today scoping out a new spot to fish, and when she finally found it, she cast out her line and hoped for something exciting to bite.

Have you ever played basketball as a kid, and you ended up just having a really bad game? Like you missed every single shot you took, so you decided to just start taking half court shots? That way you had an excuse when you missed, but if you hit the shot you could at least say you made a half court shot that game?

Yeah, that was Karissa with mantine surfing right now. She had tried just about every trick there was and only had success with the most basic of them. The freebie. The layup of mantine surfing tricks. So here she was again, sending another MAGIKARP SPLASH, hoping to hit that "half court shot" before the Splashfest was over.

It had become routine at this point. So much so that it made Karissa uncomfortable. Repetition was not her forte, and so today she made sure to go out of her way to find a spot she had never been to before. Only then did she make her dive into the depths, eager as always to see what she would find.

At this point she honestly didn't know if she'd be happier to finally land a more advanced trick, or just never see a mantine again. Part of her wanted to figure this out, and the other part of her was starting to think she should just accept that she was bad at mantine surfing. Either way, Karissa wasn't a quitter. At the very least, one time before the Splashfest was over, she would land something. And she'd be damned if that something wasn't a MAGIKARP SPLASH.

While the hunt for new pokémon was certainly exciting, exploring the cave itself was also exciting in its own right. It was easy for Karissa to lose track of time as she took in the scenery. If it were up to her, she'd be perfectly content spending the rest of the day wandering through here and just seeing what happened. Even if nothing of interest came out of it, she would still have considered the day well spent.

It wasn't much longer before her companion came running back to her side. "Find something, Snow?"

After circling around Karissa the Alolan Ninetales rushed off ahead again, seemingly eager for Karissa to follow her. With a bright smile on her face Karissa picked up the pace. Soon enough she caught up to Snow, and just off in the distance was a Froslass. "Oh, awesome!" She pet Snow's head again. "You ready?

The mist that slowly started to fill the area was all the confirmation Karissa needed. "Let's go, then! You know what to do." And with that, Snow rushed forward and fired off an aurora beam at the wild pokémon. The attack seemed to catch the Froslass off guard, and Karissa was quick to follow up by launching a Poké Ball at it before it had time to regain its composure.

Karissa was actually super satisfied with her last catch, but she was still curious what else she might reel in. With the line already in the water, there was nothing left to do but wait.

Seeing everyone coming out here with their water pokémon helped Karissa come to the conclusion that she needed a diving buddy, but that was an adventure for another day. For now, back down into the deep!

Well, Karissa was certainly starting to feel like she had been a bit overconfident going into this... and she had definitely thoroughly embarrassed herself by this point. But if she was going to embarrass herself, she might as well go all out. Throwing caution to the wind, she decided it was time to make an all-or-nothing effort at a MAGIKARP SPLASH.
