Their attack proves meaningless as it fizzles out completely upon contact with the Cobalion's shield. The legendary sword not even flinching in the face of danger. All while a powerful blast headed right in their direction.[break][break]

"Dodge quickly!"[break][break]

With the command, both Noel's Pokemon sidestep on opposite sides, The Gardevoir's attack leaving only scorched remains on the ground. A move like that could easily have taken either one of them out of commission, they couldn't afford any major mistakes.[break][break]

"Defense isn't everything. There's always a way to break through."[break][break]

A cool and eerie Mist begins to form throughout the air. All originating from the Milotic's surrounding which soon envelops the entire area in its haze. Visibility became so low that not even Noel would be able to look through. Not that he needed to however, his trust in his Pokemon is unwavering.[break][break]

After a moment, loud footsteps echo out into the room. Heavy and beating like a drum, they made their way closer and closer to Melody's side of the field. When suddenly, the Hisuian Goodra appears from the Gardevoir's flank, aiming to topple it down with a Body Slam.

The sudden teleportation leaves Noel with a slight sickness in his stomach that he tries to tone down by ignoring it. Never once has he shifted so suddenly in location and hopefully that would be the last time. Either way, they were now at League HQ with a battleground fit for the both of them.[break][break]

With it came an observer. Cobalion, one of the Swords of Justice presided alongside Melody. It's intense gaze unnerved Noel to his very core, as if he needed to prove something to the legendary Pokemon. The Champion reveals her Gardevoir to begin the match.[break][break]

"I'm... a little bit familiar with one of its group but I have to admit that he's definitely a bit scary-looking up close..."[break][break]

He exchanges looks with the Cobalion, his eyes full of determination meeting with the other's condescending pierce. Melody's announcement of the beginning of the match breaks this intense stare-down. Noel then takes to his side of the field and contemplates on his own beginning Pokemon. A Gardevoir's psychic capabilities were top notch and not something to underestimate. Strength alone wouldn't be enough to win this battle.[break][break]

The decision was made. Tossing out a Milotic and Hisuian Goodra out onto his half, he lets off a gentle smile as he replies back to Melody.[break][break]

"Here we come then... We're gonna bring go all out![break][break]

The water serpent and steel dragon bellow out a battle cry as the signal to the start of their match. Their eyes glow with a deep blue as they form a union with Hydro Cannon and Water Gun at the front of their mouths before firing off towards the Gardevoir. A combined bullet that zooms through the air, hoping to land first blood.

Even with their best efforts, with just the two of them they couldn't hope to possibly break through. The only way out was to fall back as Roy suggested. Noel's Shaymin and Roy's Charizard hold off the Megalopolans as best as they can, but when the call to retreat came, Noel recalls his Pokemon and takes a step back.[break][break]

"You're right... Let's regroup and find another way forward."[break][break]

Running away like this leaves a poor taste in the ranger's mouth but risking Roy's life along with his own in a fruitless endeavor was something that he wouldn't allow.[break][break]

With his Pokemon now tucked away safely, he begins the trek back down the tower to the lower floors. Safety was guaranteed as long as they could somehow halt their aggressor's pursuit.

After a moment Noel finally calms himself down and begins to steady his breathing. Eyes scanning all around the room until they meet the voice that assailed him with questions. He was... familiar, yet for some reason Noel couldn't pinpoint exactly why.[break][break]

"The beach?... I... don't know... When I try to think back it's like my brain is getting stabbed by a knife over and over..."[break][break]

No information could be gleaned from his natural memory bank. A sharp pain seeps into his head at every attempt to recollect his thoughts. All he could do was simply lay back in his bed, defeated and indistinguishable. His gaze traces once more to Kyle.[break][break]

"I'm sorry, I really don't know. Thanks for helping me out but, who are you?"

The worst had come to an end. Noel breathes a sigh of relief upon seeing the maddened Swampert now put to rest. They very well couldn't just leave it there for it to resume its destruction, so he tosses a Pokeball its way and captures it with almost no resistance.[break][break]

"I'll take this over to the League so that they can take care of it. Maybe someone there can calm it down and change its ways."[break][break]

He then turns around to face Daphnee and can't help but form a smile with the smaller Pokemon now safe and sound. Still frightened from these turn of events, it would be a while until they'd be able to return here, if at all.[break][break]

Taking the remaining baby Pokemon into his arms, he coddles them gently as to ease their mind.[break][break]

"I'm sure we will. Let's take them back to HQ, they'll give them a nice home until they can come back."

The support came as a surprise to Noel, it seemed as though the rescue proved to be a success. Now all they needed to do was take care of this Swampert.[break][break]

"Thanks. I don't know what's got it all riled up but we can't allow it to continue on like this. I don't want to hurt it too bad though, it's probably just scared."[break][break]

With each attack the Swampert grew more and more furious. All this time Noel's Scream Tail had been pulling its punches, but any more power and they would cause lasting damage against the rampaging creature. There was but one way now to soothe the beast.[break][break]

"Plug your ears! I'm gonna try and calm it down but it might affect us too."[break][break]

Taking his own advice, he covers his ears before his Pokemon begins to unleash a raucous noise for all to hear. What could only be described as a crude way of Singing filled the air. Its harsh tones made their way to the Swampert's ears, causing it's eyes to slowly drift but not without resistance. Through willpower alone does it stand on its feet still, doing anything to keep itself awake.

Either by blind hatred or chance the giant mud fish Pokemon finally takes notice of the two rangers who now intrude on his territory. It lets out a roar of its own and stomps heavily towards Noel's Scream Tail to begin its attack. [break][break]

The blue-haired trainer and his companion would start things off first however. The pink Paradox swoops in through the air and latches onto one of the Swampert's arms with a fierce Psychic Fang. The giant swings its arm around in an attempt to free itself from the prehistoric beast but with no avail.[break][break]

After some time, it stills itself and raises its other arm upwards before smacking down on the Scream Tail with a Hammer Arm. With such sheer force the Paradox Pokemon has no choice but to let go and is thrown off, slightly deflated on the ground.[break][break]

"Looks like it's not willing to go down so easily..." Noel says as he grits his teeth.[break][break]

He looks towards Daphnee and her rescue operation. So far so good, but there was no telling when their aggressor would suddenly change targets.

A long rest steeped in pitch black. That's all it ever felt like for Noel. Who knows just how long he's been in this suspended bliss. Or if he will ever wake up. In his dreamland, his mind protects him from the outside. Yet this world is fractured, broken up into tiny pieces where, try all he like, they just wouldn't fit together.[break][break]

Faces that he can't recognize, places where he swears he's never been before. And names that are just on the tip of his tongue.[break][break]

His brain was ready to burst. Screams that echo out internally throughout his body yearning to be released. Until at last, one breaks through.[break][break]

Eyes swing wide open, moving erratically all over as his body jolts forward in one motion. Heavy breathing escapes his mouth as if this were his first gasps of air. One hand reaches up towards his head, as if pressing on it would relieve the pain. Everything looks hazy and nothing feels safe.[break][break]

"W-What happened...? Where am I?"[break][break]

He asks to the void, unknowing of just who or what could be standing in front of him.

A price Noel is more than willing to pay. His eyes light up brighter than they've ever been today, staring back at Melody's own fiery spirit. [break][break]

"I accept..." He takes one quick glance to his surroundings. "Although I think we'll probably need a better arena than this."[break][break]

Even with everything that has happened today, his battle-hardened soul yearned at the chance to contend against the current reigning Champion. Never once has he seen Melody display her skills, whether on T.V. or in person, he has no idea just how she operated.[break][break]

But to him it was better this way. A fight where one knows the other's tricks would make for a boring spectacle.[break][break]

"Let's take this outside then, hopefully the weather's cleared up by now... And... I hope you know of a good spot, I'm still new around these parts actually."

Just as quickly as the battle begins, does it end. No matter what he, giada morgan or Niola Winchester throw at the Rocket boss, his Darkrai swallows every attack in its all-enveloping darkness. Not even a scratch could be dealt upon the Pitch-Black Pokemon. Move after move is unleashed by the Milotic with no effect at all.[break][break]

As if they were nothing but mere ants, declan walsh disappears alongside the mythical in a haze of shadowy mist to deal with something much larger than this trio of trainers. Noel grits his teeth in anguish, frustrated at being unable to do anything to stop Walsh. His anger causes him to be completely blindsided and deaf. Unable to hear Giada's warning of the encroaching Origin Pulse headed straight for him and Niola.[break][break]

His senses return slowly.[break][break]

But not fast enough.[break][break]

A beam of bright blue light strikes both Noel and his Milotic from which he's blasted off of. His head barely is able to break through the water's surface, gasping for air and reaching for something to pull him back up.[break][break]

Anything.[break][break]

The roar of thunder and the sounds of the waves crashing into the city mask whatever could be uttered by the ranger. Struggle all he like, he could feel himself being dragged down more and more as time passes.[break][break]

No help was coming. His limbs grew more and more tired with each moment keeping himself afloat.[break][break]

Until at last, one massive tsunami of a wave sweeps him under the sea floor, submerging him into undersea nightmare. A hand reaches out upwards once more, but nothing could be grabbed. Not even hope.[break][break]

As his consciousness slowly fades and his eyes begin to close, his body now at the mercy of the water's currents. One last thought flashes before his mind.[break][break]

Of his friends, both human and Pokemon alike. Of his accomplishments. And of his dreams.[break][break]

"No... This isn't how it ends... I still have to-"[break][break]

The underwater ocean is as silent as ever. Its deep blue hue a marvelous sight to behold. Full of unexplored possibilities, potential and discoveries just waiting to be found. But the farther down you go, the easier it is to lose sight of everything and the easier it is to float down deeper and deeper. Whether you want to or not.[break][break]

Until you're swallowed up completely by the darkness of the deep.[break][break]

Where only hope can act as your vessel.

"It's best if we move together. Who knows what we'll find out there."[break][break]

And so Noel follows right behind Daphnee, heading straight into the lion's den, hoping that they aren't too late for whatever the problem may be.[break][break]

The two run past the mountain piles of trash and finally reach to where Daphnee's Fletchinder was letting out its cry. What they'll find however, is something Noel was all too familiar with.[break][break]

A Swampert, rampaging all around what once was its habitat, now only a crushed memory. With just a single sweep from its mighty arms, debris flies all over as multiple smaller Pokemon cower in fear a small distance away from the carnage. Its motive remains unclear to the eyes of the ranger. Whether angry due to the loss of its home or under the influence of the Tera crystals that laid underneath, Noel could not say. For now, quelling its rage was of the topmost priority.[break][break]

"We've got to save those Pokemon and stop that Swampert from doing any more harm. I'm going in Daphnee, you focus on rescuing the others."[break][break]

Before she can say anything, he hops down to face the bulking water-type. His Scream Tail pops out and lets out a Noble Roar to ready itself for battle.

As all things go up, they must come down. Through sheer luck and a bit of help from those surrounding them, he, Mitsuru Kagami and the Entei gracefully land nearby the Dyna Tree without a single scratch. Safety is nowhere nearby however, the Kyogre has now undergone a primal transformation, its power boosted greater than ever before.[break][break]

Before Noel can tackle this bigger threat, he helps Mitsuru down should, she need it, after getting back on his own two feet onto the wet ground.[break][break]

"It's going to be difficult getting you out of here... but I promise we'll make your escape safe and sound once the League handles the situation."[break][break]

He turns his head over to the Entei. Unsure of whether this Pokemon was wild or of this woman's, he could tell that they were of like minds.[break][break]

"Stay by this guy. It'll protect you, I'm sure."[break][break]

With that said, Noel faces the task at hand. He stands before the the ongoing chaos between man and legendary. Yet another is being waged with the same ferocity. Close by, giada morgan and declan walsh along with Aurelie Lefevre's Roaring Moon stare each other down, the three getting ready for the first to make their move. Two on one, the odds seemed stacked against the lone Ranger.[break][break]

Swiftly does Noel switch out his Shaymin for his Milotic once more and ride to Giada's side after receiving her intel. He wouldn't allow her to handle this alone.[break][break]

"Don't worry, I've got your back."[break][break]

And now here he was face to face with the head honcho himself. Not quite the way Noel had envisioned himself meeting the Rocket boss so soon, but he wouldn't allow this opportunity to escape him. They had the potential to end things here, now. Of course, it wouldn't turn out to be that easy.[break][break]

"We'll take them on together... We won't fail."[break][break]

The Milotic's eyes glow an eerie light. A chill creeps into the air, before hardening around the sea serpent into deadly icicle projectiles suspended in the air. Soon, a Blizzard of crystallized ice are shot towards the Rocket duo, hoping to land a shot onto either them or their Pokemon.

The primal roar from overhead caused Noel, to let out a sudden but brief gasp while turning his gaze back towards the cave's entrance. A cry that shook the very cave itself. Bits of rock and dust break off from the walls, an ill omen of things to come.[break][break]

Before Noel can react, he's whisked away along with Mitsuru Kagami atop the Entei's back. The ride is bumpy, to say the least, and he can barely hang on as the seawater rises, threatening to swallow them whole should the legendary dog's speed not be enough. Noel was no Josh Devlin, but after a moment he's able to grasp at the beast's hair and gain balance. Before they exit, he recalls back his Milotic back into its ball.[break][break]

A painful shout echoes throughout the cave, its contents all too familiar to the ranger. With a look back from where they had left, he views the Dusclops throwing a valiant electric punch to impede the Kyogre from progressing any further. Almost like something out a storybook.[break][break]

But not all stories can have happy endings. Heroic as the ghost-type was, nothing can stop it from being submerged underneath the raging storm brought down by the blue monster.[break][break]

"I'm sorry... I've no idea where this Pokemon is taking us, but we've got to get you out of here. This place is too dangerous-"[break][break]

As if to prove his point, the obsessive Kyogre rushes in, honing quickly in on their location. All manner of Pokemon and trainers fight to deter the whale from its path, including the sheriff, Navy, who stands between the trio and the Kyogre to act as a wall. Yet the sea creature is not so easily demoralized. [break][break]

With a pop, a Shaymin exits from its ball and lands with a fierce expression on top of Noel's shoulder. A Petal Blizzard surrounds the party, protecting them from anything the Kyogre may hurl at their way. Some of the sharpened leaves break off to cut away at the monster's flesh, hopefully enough to hinder and slow it down.[break][break]

Now all that was left was to figure out just where this Johtonian dog was taking them.
