After a few moments of continuing their activities, the Druddigon, by chance, happens to look in the direction of their onlookers. It swipes at the tree with a Dragon Claw, breaking it off from its roots and throwing it away, causing the young girl who was hiding behind it to be in full view to everyone now. Noel, caught surprise by the noise, assumes a defensive stance and turns to the commotion.[break][break]

"What's going on Druddigon? Are we under attack?"[break][break]

He relaxes his form once he sees what he assumed to be an enemy was actually just a small teenage girl. He raises an eyebrow wondering why such a person would be here in the first place.[break][break]

"Err... hello there... what are you doing there?"

Feeling the egg about to burst at any moment in his hands, Noel steadies it for it not to fall. Once it calmed down a little and after thinking of a reply to his question, he gives an answer. [break][break]

"I guess I would... fall back to make sure my Pokemon weren't harmed. I'd shield them with my own body if it came to that, I'd rather I get hurt than them. But if it's really a foe I can't beat then I would surely have to retreat."[break][break]

As much as he hated to admit it Noel knew he couldn't defeat every Rocket member that came his way. There are all kinds of different people in the world all with varying levels of strength that he couldn't possibly know about before fighting them. His best bet would be to live to fight another day in a dire situation like that.

The sudden disappearances of Oldale's farm Pokemon has left them with not much left to do than to ask for help. Luckily for them Noel had heard about the situation from the locals during his stay here. With their description of an alien-like Pokemon that was seen off in the distance every time the incident occurred, he sets out into the woods near Oldale's farm to find the perpetrator.[break][break]

In the dead of night he sets up a camp along with a bundle of wood on the ground to start a fire. Hopefully he could complete this job all by himself, he thought, but if things got out of hand he wouldn't mind any extra help that came along the way. Was he really the only one to want to help out these poor farmers just trying to go about their business?

Noel knew he probably couldn't just find his opponent so easily once he got out. His rashness got himself here in the first place after all and maybe the doctor was onto something after all, he thought. But first thing's first he had to leave here to recuperate his strength on his own. Slowly lifting himself off the table and struggles to stand up but after a few attempts he manages somehow.[break][break]

"Thank you again doctor, but I need to get going now. I'll listen to your advice but that won't stop my goals. I will come back to this city one day. Now where did you put my belongings?"[break][break]

He searched around for his bag filled with all his traveling gear but with no luck. It was the only thing stopping him now from leaving both this building and the city entirely.

Noel wraps his arms around the egg he was given, being sure to hold it carefully so nothing would happen to it. He nods to the Goodra, thanking him for the precious gift that he'll surely cherish. [break][break]

"Don't worry, I'll make sure nothing happens to this Pokemon, or any other for that matter. The road ahead might be tough for this little guy but I have no doubt that I'll lead it to victory."[break][break]

Having a newly born Pokemon excited him, it would be like he was a child playing with his Froakie practically all day and all night. Only this time he was older, wiser, he knew it wouldn't be all fun and games and eventually he'd have to teach this baby the ways of combat. It would be a grueling task but with the help of his other Pokemon it would lighten the load.

Midday on this otherwise totally normal day, Noel and his Pokemon make camp on the side of Route 119, preparing for a night's stay. Leaving his belongings inside the tent, he begins cooking up today's lunch for both himself and his companions. Each and everyone one of his Pokemon eagerly awaiting their meal while continuing to tidy the area around them, making ample space to sit together.[break][break]

"All right everyone, gather around, food's ready. And once we're done it'll be time to do some exercises."[break][break]

The day was perfect to do a bit of training. Just warm enough for the heat not to annoy him and with a breeze to cool them all down. Once they had finished eating they all placed their trash inside a bag to throw away later. Leading the pack Noel starts their regimen with some light stretches, each of his Pokemon mimicking to the best of their ability. He chose this location since it was off the path and so no one would interrupt them, or so he thought.[break][break]

Finishing the last bit of wine from his glass, he places it down onto the table and lets off a light chuckle. [break][break]

"Don't worry, I'm using them about as much as they're using me. And if I found out they're just as bad as Rocket, then I'll take them down too."[break][break]

He looks up to take note of the clock hanging overhead of the bar, it had gotten fairly late since he arrived and he stands up from his stool. Bringing out his wallet, he grabs hold of the required Pokedollars and sets it onto the table in front of the bartender.[break][break]

"Well, thank you for your time miss but its about time I head off. Its gotten pretty late and I'll probably have better luck on my mission somewhere else and another time. You be careful now and if we see each other again let me know of any trouble you might have."[break][break]

With a wave of his hand, he sets out from the bar, heading back home none the wiser of how close he was to a Rocket member. In his mind it was just a normal night out with nothing truly exciting occurring. He never asked for the lady's name, a shame, Noel thought, but their paths would more than likely not cross again. After all, she was just an ordinary citizen in an ordinary bar.[break][break]

"You know... if someone were to look at it, sure a dragon Pokemon is something to be feared or even admired. But I'm sure many people would look at its droopy face and think of it as a harmless, weak and innocent creature. But I want to prove to them that just because it may not look intimidating or have the claws or fangs to back it up, that it can still fight its heart out and be just as strong all those other dragons."[break][break]

He reaches his hand out slowly, placing it on top of the Goodra's head. He didn't care that the slimy texture of its skin was perhaps a bit off-putting, he felt a sort of kindred connection to the creature. As if he understood what this Pokemon had gone through, Noel smiles warmly at it, and the finally lets go, retracting his hand and turning to Navy.[break][break]

"I guess me and it are sort of alike. One good look at me and most probably wouldn't even give me the time of day. So yes, I'm sure, this is the one."[break][break]

Noel places both of his hands onto his ears, covering them. The sound still pierces through and reverberates all throughout his head.[break][break]

"Hey! Stop that terrible noise! You're making things harder than it needs to be!" He shouts, all while losing his balance slightly as a reaction to the deafening noise. The strategy however, seemed to work, as the two Mightyena start to slowly fall, losing consciousness, unable to do anything against the Screech.[break][break]

"H-Hey wait! I think its working! Keep at it!"[break][break]

He couldn't even hear his own voice, no other sound could be heard as the Wooloo start to cry in distress. Noel's Frogadier uses this opportunity to rush in onto the Mightyena, dealing heavy blows against their bodies. Jabbing at them repeatedly until they finally faint. With no way of counterattacking they were at the mercy now of both the trainers and the farmhands.[break][break]

Is this truly what he wanted? Sure everyone loves playing the hero but is that going to get his goals accomplished? Noel thought to himself, if he's truly attempting to become the champion one day, he can't be stopping every evil-doer or else he'll never get anything done. It was then that he felt a dreading sense of shame deep in his stomach. Of course this is what he wanted, for every one of him there are millions more of these types of thugs out there. All doing even more heinous crimes than he could imagine.[break][break]

"Yes."He replies back to Navy with a newfound passion burning in his heart. "This is what I want to do, its my life's mission to root out evil just like tonight's and make the world a safer place for everyone."[break][break]

Noel presumed that surely along his travels he can both attempt the gym challenge and help people in need. He had to, and the League would surely give him the tools to both travel the region and get closer to the villains he so eagerly wanted to defeat.[break][break]

He practically forces a handshake while staring deep into Navy's eyes with a fierce look.[break][break]

"Thank you Navy, you've taught me so much today and I'm truly grateful. But that doesn't mean I've forgotten about earlier, I will surpass you one day. I'll challenge you again and not a gym challenge either, a real fight one day, once I'm stronger."[break][break]
