It's... nice to be busy. That much is true. It keeps the mind from caving in at the first sign of trouble. A distraction to lessen the blow. But Genny's mind wanders.[break][break]

"Slateport. A friend I helped with training told me about a beautiful part of Lilycove. And besides... too many bad memories." She had helped Shion with some light exercise. She loved that moment, though she wasn't completely herself then either. Ever since that mission with the dogs, something felt off. Wrong even. But now, it felt like a fading memory.[break][break]

Well.[break][break]

As she plays with her hands in her lap, her fingers press together as she thinks of what it was. The reason.[break][break]

She thinks of the arrowhead she kept from the mission, and understands... she did it for herself. "I prefer it shorter." Well, that wasn't completely true, but she felt longer hair might be more detrimental in th field after awhile. "Easier to work with."[break][break]

But that wasn't the only reason. Guilt. A rebirth after the hardship. That's what... it was. She was so sure. But why?[break][break]

"How... do you handle it? The job." How does he handle death? How does he process it? It was a lot already. Mr. Business broke her, but it was this mission that shattered her resolve. Utterly shaken. Her eyes held that weight and sadness to them.

Kouji comes in, and with him, a Houndoom and a Samurott fly into the fray, moving in-sync with flames and and darkness, the Oranguru on their very last legs, their eyes focused too much on the two beasts in front of it, when Kouji makes the call.[break][break]

With fire in his eyes, Zagreus comes in for the final attack. A CRUNCH, though not deadly, enough to chomp into the shoulder of the beast, before the Oranguru faints in total exhaustion. The strikes, the constant blows, everything was ensuring that this orangutan was going down.[break][break]

Once Zagreus' jaws unlock, the ape is on the ground.[break][break]

Hopping off of her Arcanine now, as Genny lands on her boots, she's quick to grab both hands of the monkey to cuff them. Sure, there's mental power behind the psychic ape, but keeping them at this disadvantage will, at least, make this a living hell for them if they continue to be bad.[break][break]

"We did it!" Genny grins over to Kouji, a peace sign from her hand extended out. Zagreus making a little puppy steps despite how big they were, pushing his big head against Genny. The two, inseparable.[break][break]

"Drinks, on me?" She offers.

- The Oranguru is on the ropes, and as Kouji's H. Samurott and Houndoom slap it down, Genny's Arcanine CRUNCHES. No chance.[break]

Yuina raises a good point. It doesn't lessen the friendships. It doesn't ruin them. It makes them stronger. Facing adversity together makes bonds stronger. The heart grows fonder, and with it, bonds can sit for life.[break][break]

That's how Genny feels about a lot of the people she's met. Some of them really did make that lasting impression.[break][break]

With a little disappointment, Genny feels herself ponder how to best take this in response. It's usually hard to know particular historical practices, and outfits. Hisui is a little too far for what would be considered a more renaissance style. Room for error there though. With a quiet smile, Genny remarks in kind. "Mine's just a costume I rented out. I can't really afford outfits like this-" but then Genny takes a moment to think. She was just promoted.[break][break]

"Used to not be, anyways." She was making much more these days.[break][break]

Shuffling into her outfit to fish out her phone, she gestures to a nearby table to sit down at, and begins to type on her mobile browser. "Let's see... Hisui-" she hits search, and opens up some images, passing it to Yuina and gesturing out.[break][break]

"Mind showing me the Hisui vibe?" Nothing else? A learning experience! The faire is second to a friend.

The compliment isn't lost on Uzi, as the Vaporeon makes a very happy fountain of water from his mouth. The little geyser ends, as they ready themselves. Genny fastened away, and Uzi raring to swim. Eyes flash with inspiration. While it may not be any closer to finding his home, at least Uzi and Genny could do this much.[break][break]

The starting arch shows the the Raikou, and with the words GET READY, Genny tightens her grip. The first Raikou disappears, an audible noise to signify the importance of it. The second goes. Then the third. And with it, the moment GO was shown...[break][break]

Uzi and Genny are off. And they're definitely not the fastest duo, but Genny's eyes are focused more on what sits ahead.[break][break]

Drift Highway's first obstacle was the set of 180 degree turns, and with what Genny saw, they need to be able to take the turns as best they can. Uzi has decent enough reaction time, but there are others that may have more. What matters more is to get a feel for how this race is going to go. Use the first lap to feel it out, and strategize from there.[break][break]

Hazel eyes burn with confidence, as the first turn comes. An easy one that allows for reaction time, but she recalls the tighter turns. With it, she braces herself, and Uzi does the same. The duo attempting their best to let their reaction time come in, to drift at the right time all three times would be important.[break][break]

Eyes focused ahead...[break][break]

They attempt to drift at the right times attempting to use the y-axis underneath the water to help with any reaction time they can get, if they even need it. Certainly would be better than the majority of the racers.[break][break]

A few more arrivals, and Genny finds herself waving at as he passes, and another wave to , a big vibrant smile over glossy lips. And perhaps it would have grown more, if her hazels didn't see and in the distance. Heart pounding like a war-drum, she stares. She's staring. Oh god she's staring, she has to pull away. Did he just look at her? He did, didn't he?[break][break]

A manicured hand moves through her red-orange hair, twirling through strands, and then saves her from her own schoolgirl crush. Arceus, she had impeccable timing. Her AND both were saving her right now. "T-Thank you!" She looked flustered, between the burning cheeks, and the way her eyes kept noticing now. "Oh, I'm having a great time! So many people here!" The eggnog in her hand moved back up to her lips... when...[break][break]

Ah, and ! "Desi! Thomas!" A big hug, pulling her close, and taking a spicy herba mystica clip. Matches the skirt! "Wouldn't miss it!" she moved to hug Thomas, if he accepted it.[break][break]

Genny never really felt that attractive, but after the long, long, long set of hours in front of the mirror, toying with her hair, deciding how perky she wanted to look, or between sexy or cute... she felt it. When Desiree mentioned it, when Yuina and Kaz both said it into existence, Genny absolutely felt it now.[break][break]

"We totally do! Thank you for all your help!" Big toothy grin. They all looked fantastic. Absolutely stunning.[break][break]

Kaz leaves to go get them drinks, at the bar, where she catches sight of , nearest... huh. Didn't that guy () look familiar? A deja vu is all it seems like. But they seemed busy. But added to them, the two that are currently at the forefront of her mind.[break][break]

Grabbing onto Desi and Yuina's arms, she shakes them. "He's not looking at me, is he?" Her eyes are over there now. Both girls would be able to see who she was looking at. Well. That general area. Any assumptions could easily be made.[break][break]

After what must have been hours standing in front of 's mirror, literally trying everything under the sun, she finds herself finally okay with her appearance. It must have been a dozen dresses. Sweater dresses, formal dresses, more casual. Hair done up, her casual ponytail, twintails, straightened. Boots, short, long, shoes, heels. And only a handful of women would know, she must have tried to make her breasts a teeny tiny bit perkier.[break][break]

Not for any particular reason.[break][break]

The Mossdeep Observatory, she can feel her heart pound. She's not really the girly girl type, and that shows. Last year's masquerade, she felt so estranged in a long poofy dress, but this year was so much more casual. It fit her style more. She still felt overly dressed, but her hair was done in a way that she could spore the cute antler headband. It all more or less came together. She even found out she kinda-sorta liked boots![break][break]

She's no dress girlie. And some of the girlies here already seemed so much more. Eyes quickly go to , who looks wonderful. It made Genny feel underdressed, but fixes that fear immediately. Plus, seeing a suited , and a sweatered have her feel at ease. Even seeing in his suit, she can't help but brighten up more, and that's not even mentioning , or who she hadn't seen in so long![break][break]

"Hello!" She's quickly pushing a hand up through her fluffy hair as she walks the floor, glossy lips curved up to a big, big smile. While she can't tuck it behind her ear with this headband and earmuffs, she's twirling a strand with a manicured finger.[break][break]

The moment she sees , she brightens up considerably, and trots over with a shake on her heeled white boots. "Yuina!" A big, big big toothy grin. And who else to appear, but a familiar face in ! Right, earlier this year, out in those icelands! "Kaz!" There's more pep to her step now as she trots over.[break][break]

Aaaaaaaaaaaand SNATCH, some eggnog. Hey. Not a real party till she's sloshed on the nog.[break][break]

"Are you enjoying the night so far?" Eyeshadowed hazel eyes filled every bit with happiness and a little shine, as she grins.
