Standing there with Delton, glancing around at the festival, Yuina was confused... And perhaps even a little disappointed. She finally found an opportunity to flex her history muscles and have fun with that far away part of her life, but there wasn't a single shred of Hisuian culture anywhere it looked like... It was all much too elegant, and if she didn't know any better, she could swear that she recognized an emblem or two from royalty. From her museum escapades, it looked like Galarian royal emblems...[break][break]
"So... When they said historical festival... They should have specified what kind of history," Yuina huffed, nothing would compare to being back in that far away place... But it would have been nice to pretend...[break][break]
In her dejection, Yuina hardly noticed she was being approached until Delton cooed and swept Yuina with a wing, and all of a sudden she was face to face with bright eyes and fiery red hair calling out her historical time period of choice.[break]
"Oh, yeah, yeah! This is Hisuian," Yuina was excited now, matching the other woman's, her excitement brought on Yuina's in a full circle. She looked her over again though, thinking very hard, that red hair...[break][break]
"Hey... Hey wait, I know you? Were you in the Fortree Swamps a couple of weeks ago," Yuina wondered, being a bit vague about the happenstance just in case, no need to cause panic, but surely if she was there, that would be all the trigger needed.

Standing there now, at least not entirely dejected from the whole festival, Yuina was pleased that while she wasn't adorned with Ribbon or ruffles with long skirts or high collars, that at least someone recognized what she was emulating. She still couldn't shake it though, she felt like the woman in front of her was so familiar, and then she confirmed, she spoke of being captured, and the ship... So she was down there?[break]
And then she introduced herself as Genevieve, and it all came back to Yuina. They were in the same tunnel, she was with Thomas Benoit and DESIREE BLOOMS too while they trekked through the caves below![break][break]
"Genny, I knew you looked familiar! I'm Yuina, I was with Desiree and Thomas," she confirmed, reaching out and returning the handshake.[break]
"Uh, it's nice to meet you officially, under better circumstances," she offered then with a smile, meeting someone outside of life peril was always so much better.

It was strange, listening to Genny speak about Desiree, knowing that she too felt exactly the same way? A lof of the individuals that she knew now and saw regularly were almost all from some sort of peril, and they saw each other more than once when trouble was afoot... Was that just supposed to be normal here...? It sounded really unfortunate that way...[break][break]
"Uh, yeah, I know the feeling... I don't think that makes the friendships any less valuable or different though," Yuina digressed, if allies could be friends too and vice versa, that would just make things stronger in the end, right? Genny moved on to a better topic though, it was hard to move past the onslaught of things that had happened within just the last couple of months, but dwelling on all of it all of the time wouldn't do anyone any good.[break]
Yuina glanced around, meeting Delton's eyes beneath his brim of feathers, then looked out to the rest of the festival. It was decorated for winter time it seemed, given the season, adorned with stars and other twinkling decorations, but even then, she was still kind of disappointed over all...[break][break]
"It's my first one too... I guess I didn't understand what it meant? I thought it would be more kinds of historical time periods, I was kind of excited to see some things about Hisui if they had them, but it's mostly Galarian it looks like," Yuina returned, she definitely missed the memo.[break]
"What about you? When is your outfit from?"

Moving to sit down at a table with Genny as the red head spoke of the costume that she wore, Yuina still offered a smile. Rented or not, historical or not, it still was a really fun outfit.[break]
"I think it looks really great on you, it's very dramatic," Yuina smiled, sitting down across from Genny then as the fiery red head took out her phone. In an attempt to make Yuina feel more involved she supposed, Genny offered to hear a little bit about Hisui... It was really a sweet offer... It was like her first chance to talk about herself, what little of herself she actually knew, the only part of her life that she had memories of right now. The sentiment meant more in that moment than Genny could every know...[break][break]
"That's... very kind of you Genny, really," Yuina almost sniffled, and she did glance at the device that Genny held out, finding old paintings, and scrolling through for a moment to find map comparisons of what people believed the land looked like vs what it looks like in present sinnoh now... She glanced up though at the sound of whinnying off in the near distance, there was a field of obstacles where fancy and colorful looking horses (Galarian Rapidash) were prancing around, hardly engaging in the set of obstacles that were there...[break][break]
"I have a better idea... Come on," Yuina smiled then, giving Genny her phone back and moving them away from the table and closer to the fence line where all of the pretty ponies were prancing around.[break]
"These Pokemon don't have anything on Ayashi, let's run the obstacle course and show them what's for," Yuina nodded as she took out another Pokeball, revealing Ayashi's tall, broad figure. He huffed in large breaths as his giant hooves clomped on the ground, it was clear already that his figure was made for strength, endurance, jumping. Yuina patted the side of the deer's neck and Delton offered a wing to take Genny's small Pokemon to hold as Yuina wasted no effort in helping herself up onto Ayashi's back as the deer offered the back of his leg to her.[break][break]
"Come on, this is gonna be fun," she smiled, leaning over and offering her hand to Genny to climb on.

Scooting up a bit on Ayashi's broad back, Yuina made sure there was plenty of room for Genny to get situated as the firey red head had taken her hand to hop on. Delton made sure to pat the Mudkip, nothing bad was going to happen and he offered a gentle coo to the small water type, moving closer to the fence so they could watch.[break][break]
"Okay, hang on tight. Ayashi isn't just good for running laps," Yuina smiled as she braced herself on the deer's back, nudging with one foot, and the Wyrdeer moved to turn towards the fence that they were still on the opposite side of. He huffed with large breaths, his hooves stomping on the ground, and he leaned down on his long legs to ready himself. In a single, powerful leap, Ayashi jumped into the air and cleared the fence with ease, landing on the other side with heavy hooves.[break][break]
Some of the Galarian Rapidash started at the intrusion, and onlookers glanced now with murmers and whispers, clearly the Pokemon was out of place, and the two girls riding it didn't look anything like the princes and princesses that were there at the faire?[break]
Nevermind, Yuina wasn't here to feel like she was being judged, that was every day of this new life she felt like. She just wanted to feel like she was back out in the plains of the Obsidian Fieldlands... Free...[break]
"Ayashi, hashiru," Yuina gave the word, a command in Hisuian, and the deer huffed as he took off in bounding strides into the heart of the obstacle course.[break][break]
Ayashi's powerful strides were like flying, every push of his hooves against the ground propelled him forward like he were gliding just above the grass, every leap over one of the pole obstacles or wooden barrier was cleared with such ease, he may as well be air born. Yuina was beaming, her memory flashing of a sunny day in the fieldlands, Ayashi bounding along the riverbed... She'd missed him so much...

Off on the side, on the outside of the fence, Delton held up the Mudkip he held in his wings so that the blue Pokemon could see their two trainers bounding through the course. He wanted to make sure the little thing was having just as much fun too, so he did well to keep her held up high for the sights.[break][break]
Clutching Ayashi's neck, feeling his powerful breaths beneath her hands and is strong shoulders beneath her legs, Yuina basked in the familiarity, the memories of that far away place. She wasn't sure how long it had been, since she had left Hisui, how much time had passed that Ayashi and her other Pokemon had been left to the wilds once more, but to know that in spite of that separation, in spite of every impossibility that they should have never crossed paths amongst space time at all, that her Pokemon still cared for her... Remembered her even... The tear that fell from the corner of her eye was quick to swipe off from the wind rushing past their faces.[break][break]
Keeping herself steady for Genny who held onto her, Yuina couldn't help the absolutely contagious smile that crossed her features at Genny's uproarious laughter and delight. The two girls had drawn a crowd now, onlookers gaping at the cloven steed that romped through the obstacle course with little hindrance, like the obstacles weren't even there. They'd rounded every corner, cleared every barrier and pole set out, and Ayashi's powerful stride never broke once from his flighty speed. They were nearing an end, or Ayashi would continue to blow dust through the entire course all over again, and Yuina braced herself against the deer.[break][break]
"Hang on Genny," Yuina called behind her, leaning in to Ayashi's figure, and nearing one last barrier obstacle, the Wyrdeer leaped just so, that his hooves made contact with the top of it, and that was just another vaulting point as his powerful legs propelled him forward and upward, soaring above the ground. They were nearing the top of the stable structure that was there for the rest of the horses, and what seemed an impossible leap given the height and distance, Ayashi cleared just so, as his hooves came to a stop at the top of the stable building.[break][break]
"Anata ni aitakatta," Yuina spoke softly as she leaned in to Ayashi's broad neck, across the tests of time and the stars of space, they were together again...
