Maiyra would nod along as he noted how he likes electric types due to how fast they are, and having most common electric ride pokemon, though she would ask "What's a Lanturn? I've never heard of that one before." though to be fair, a lot of the pokemon here today were new to her. She assumed it was one that didn't like indoor buildings, but she could easily be wrong on that front. It could just be too big for all she knew- though that would mean it was bigger than Tailpipe, which would mean probably too big for the gym.

She made sure to lean forward, though she didn't lean far enough to prevent her hair from becoming a tornado of a mess. Even if they were taking their time, she was still scared to fall off the large cat, and while she tried her best not to pull to hard, it would happen every so often, resulting in a shock. Once they arrived, she hopped off and exclaimed "That was VERY different than riding Tailpipe- sorry Blitz" she would note, sitting on the ground for a moment longer than needed, before standing up properly.

Maiyra made sure to bring Tailpipe back out- they still had a job to do, and with a swift Iron Tail, an Electrode was send bouncing down a hallway- but she was hooked on the thought that Steel types were one of the two types that could race here. "I actually have a pokemon who might want to try it out, though she's not fast at all" and with a flick of her wrist, a Cufant would appear from her pokeball. "This is Muffler. She's still young, but I think she would be- MUFFLER COME BACK!" before her idea had finished, the young elephant was already waddling towards a large machine with several dozen dials and a few levers.

Thankfully, Tailpipe made sure to block her off of the important-looking machine. "..as I was saying, I think if not fast, she might enjoy trying out the Mobius Ring, but she's not strong enough- or equipped- to carry me. actually, does she need to be going fast to hang upside down?" Her train of thought didn't even account for her little friend's base speed. regardless, Muffler would make her way over to Blitz, and let out a trumpet-like doot towards the Cat.

Maiyra would brush some snow off herself as the Elephant finally began to listen to her properly. She stopped trying to pull on the Rapidash, though she still attempted to play with the Rapidash, this time significantly less rough. She even made her way to the Frosslass, in an attempt to play with the ghost. "Sorry about Muffler" Maiyra began "She's still young, but doesn't quite know her full strength. She tries to pull on everything she can, which is a nightmare in the shop."

Maiyra begin to walk deeper into The Silent Icelands, waving for Elise to join her "I'll make sure to check out Ecruteak City if I'm in Johto. Sounds like a nice place- though I want to try and visit Saffron City" she would explain, a bit of a wince in her tone "I was born there, and want to explore my home city a bit, but Kanto's uh- in a weird spot right now." She knew of the Rocket takeover- but didn't know to much of the ins and outs of the situation outside of that. She was grateful that her family moved to Mauville when she was little.

"Good to know- happy I don't have to worry about bringing Galar down on me by accident" a smirk would crack across Maiyra's face. She truly was glad she didn't need to worry to much about just being her right now "Still, pretty cool you can say you're connected to royalty- though I'm not sure if there's any like, extra trouble that might come with the territory." Maiyra would notice a Cloyster napping on the side of the road, though wouldn't make any motion towards it.

The shock was very surprising, to say the least. She wasn't hurt thankfully, but the pinpricks in her hand were certainly a good deterrent from doing it wrong again. "Good to know. I've gotten some bad shocks from a car battery once or twice, but it's never been a pleasant experience." She would make sure to give Saber a smile, to let him know she was ok.

Tailpipe would sing his tail, bowling over another cluster of Magnemites, some trying to electrocute him but to no avail. As Blitz nuzzled into her, she made sure to be more careful while giving him pats, though still getting a small jolt. She didn't think to bring her work gloves with her, which looked to be to her detriment since she couldn't give the big cat and dog pets without getting shocked. "I'll keep that in mind- any tips for staying balanced?" she would ask, before returning Tailpipe to his Heavy Ball, since she didn't want him to level half of New Mauville in an attempt to keep up with the swift electric types.

With permission from the Cat, she would attempt to climb onto his back. It was far from graceful, but she eventually figured it out. It looked like a kid, struggling to get onto a bike for the first time in their life. Once one, she gave the cat another pat, though she wasn't sure where to hold onto at first. She was very much so out of her depth in this, though she wanted to try this out."Do I grab his mane?" she asked, though didn't since she didn't want to feel a real shock from the yellow Luxray.

Maiyra began to panic more, as she looked at Tailpipes condition, and the other human being flung into the air at high speeds. She couldn't just let this person die and run, right? She had no idea how to fight such a big creature, so she did the first thing that came to mind- More Pokemon to help fight this thing! "Muffler! Radiator! It's an emergency!" As the Cuffant and Piplup hit the ground, both ready to play before seeing the size of the Monster and the state of Tailpipe. The pair began to shake a bit, before getting ready to fight.

Maiyra, on the other hand, made a break to catch Shalin- she didn't think she could catch her, but she needed to at least try, right? "Radiator, Bubblebeam! Muffler, Iron Head! Tailpipe, try and Iron Tail it!" As the three began their assault, it wouldn't end very well. While the Iron Tail did land, the Iron Head was blocked by the foot of the massive creature. The Rhydon would send out a Hammer Arm, smashing Tailpipe back another 20 feet, though this time the Rock Snake pokemon didn't get back up. Following this, a Horn Drill attack would leave Muffler down for the count, and heavily beaten.

"Tailpipe! Muffler!" she screamed, though the monster didn't attempt to go to her this time, but wanted to make sure that damn bird stopped hitting it with water. Radiator was able to barely dodge a Horn Drill attack, though he was beginning to sweat already- the penguin not used to fighting at all, let alone against a creature strong enough to beat both Muffler and Tailpipe. Maiyra yelled out for the greenette once more, hoping to Arceus she can get her on her feet so they can get out of here.

As the pair conversed a bit longer, a heavy slam could be heard from behind Tailpipe, as what looked to be a lone Durant lay in a crater underneath his tail. Maiyra looked at the steel Ant with wide eyes, before throwing a Pokeball at it as hard as she could. it dinged off the front pincer, spinning slightly before booping the top of its head, and in a flash of light, was captured in a pokeball. She had a grin on her face, as she placed the ball in her pocket, all the while listening to her new compatriot.

"I've always wondered if Eevee had a steel evolution" she noted at the mention of an eevee. "I also never knew there was a theater in Ecreteak city. I've never been to Johto, though I've heard it's quite pretty." She would note, though at this point she needed to try and reign Muffler in- who was trying to pull on the horn of the Rapidash "Muffler, quit it!" she called, as the elephant resisted her hold as best she could.

It took a minute before it clicked what her full sentence had meant "Wait, you're related to a queen? Should I be like, kneeling or something?" while the surprise was on her face, she didn't seem to care much outside of not wanting to make someone who could have serious political power upset. "Muffler, quit it!" she would exclaim again, almost ready to just put her back in her ball.

The bark did get Maiyra's attention, it shook her a bit since she wasn't expecting it, but she gathered herself, and gave the big dog a scritch behind where she assumed his ear would be. "That's fair" she would begin, giving Tailpipe his own pat "Onix are known to burrow through stone at 50 miles per hour looking for food. I don't think there's many materials that can handle that, or even the stronger Steelix very well. I remember when Tailpipe was young, he was a handful. I had to have my dads Steelix AND Bronzong around while we got to know each other, since he was a little reckless and didn't realize his full size" The large snake didn't make eye contact, though he did look like the definition of guilty as charged.

"Yeah, seeing how fast Blinky could go sounds cool, let's find it and go for it." She would reply, giving a thumbs up. She was absolutely excited to see how fast it could go- she assumed electric types were fast, based on how many he had. "I've been around steel pokemon since I was little, which is where my love for them comes from. With all the types of pokemon out there, I'd be surprised if there was a pokemon that someone didn't like."

Maiyra watched in awe as the Zebstrika's flames decimated the remainder of the Magnemite. Maybe she should check out the gym more when battles are happening? Was she even allowed to watch? She had no idea, if she was honest. Either way, it was impressive just how efficient he was at clearing out the Magnemite. She wondered if Tailpipe could beat it? She considered asking for a battle later, but in reality she probably couldn't beat it.

"I'd love to give riding one of your pokemon a chance!" she replied, looking the most excited since they started the mission. She wasn't a super energetic person by nature, but the ability to ride a pokemon that wasn't Tailpipe was something that hasn't come up in her life to this point. She glanced at Josh's pokemon, before asking "Would any of you allow for me to ride with you?"

"Well, nice to meet you Elise, Ayaka, and Celeste. You got Celeste from your dad huh?" Maiyra noted, as she finished giving Tailpipe his scritches "Tailpipe is the kid of my Dad's Steelix- neat coincidence." As Tailpipe leaned up, he shot a nasty glare at a new pokemon, an Avalugg, who happened to get a little too close for his liking.

"It's my first time out here too- I don't tend to go this far outside of Mauville. Want to stick together, in case something big comes by? Only real fighter I have is Tailpipe, but with all the ice types that seem to be around, Muffler may step in-" at the sound of her name, a small Cufant appeared from the flash of light of an opening Pokeball. "...That's Muffler" Maiyra deadpanned, as the three foot elephant waddled up to the vibrant coloured Rapidash, before letting out a loud doot at her, circling the horse pokemon with wide waddles. As the Cufant went to meet the horse, she would ask "You're from Oldale you said, right? Or am I misunderstanding?"

This entire situation was strange and severely terrifying for Maiyra. She wasn't sure if her heartbeat was ever this high, or if there was ever as much adrenaline in her system before. Somehow, it spiked even harder when another whole person landed on this monster's horn! Maiyra, unlike Shalin, had no idea what Rhydon could do. That being said, she yelled out "TAILPIPE, BIND IT!" while skeptical, as he didn't want to crush the soft human, followed along, beginning to twist around the beast, as Maiyra would reach out her right arm, left grabbing the crown of the Onix, yelling "GRAB ON!"

regardless if Shalin would grab onto Maiyra's hand, the unleashed Horn Drill would do, surprisingly, nothing to Tailpipe- While unintentional, Tailpipe's Sturdy ability allowed for an 'immunity' to the Horn Drill technique. As the Binding continued, Maiyra continued to think of what to do. Maiyra wasn't fully sure what she could do more to help restrict this behemoth- it was doing a great job trying to break out of the bind. Before she could figure anything else out- The Rhydon once more blasted Tailpipe, though this time it was with another Hammer Arm- sending Tailpipe flying off and breaking the Bind. Maiyra hit the ground hard on her shoulder, as Tailpipe struggled to stand up, panting. "Are you OK!?" she yelled out, to both Tailpipe and to her new mystery compatriot. Tailpipe would groan a bit, clearly struggling to keep itself awake. She may need to send out another pokemon, but which one!?

As the pair traveled up the path more, the sound of a Corviknight gliding by could be heard, throwing Tailpipe on the defensive. Thankfully, the powerful bird flew off, allowing Tailpipe to rest a bit, but not by much. The bird caught his attention the most, missing the spectral dragon landing not too far off. Maiyra, however, caught the flashing light of pokemon being released from their balls. As the pair continued to move forward, Maiyra would look off the side of her large friend, and give a wave "Hi down there!" she would begin, catching Tailpipe off guard enough to warble a bit.

Thankfully, he was well enough aware of his size and passenger to not send Maiyra off the end, but for a brief moment in time it looked like the mechanic might fly off the side. Thankfully, however, she didn't, though just to be safe, she slid down the back of her large friend in a single, fluid slide. Tailpipe looked almost betrayed for a moment, before laying low to the ground- enough for Maiyra to give scratch behind what on a normal head would be ears.

"My name's Maiyra- and this big puppy is Tailpipe" at this point, while Tailpipe would like to argue against being a massive puppy, he was currently completely laying on the ground, trying his absolute hardest to not shake his oversized tail."Do you come out here often?"

Tailpipe kept a steady eye over the various pokemon- he kept himself low, mostly just in case the new person and his pokemon's disposition changed. Maiyra on the other hand, kept it level "Thank you- He's been with me since I was a kid. He doesn't get out as much as I'd like though, since Mauville's a little cramped for him. I try and get out as much as I can, but I don't have the space at home for him to just- hang out, yeah know?" Tailpipe would give her a light nudge, barely enough to move her though.

She would thumb towards the entrance of New Mauville "Should we get started, than?" if he agreed, she would begin making her way towards on foot. Tailpipe slithering to her right, she would look back at Blinky "by the way are Jolteon supposed to get that big? I don't know too much about most pokemon if they aren't steel-adjacent if I'm being honest with you" she scratched the back of her head in embarrassment- That may have been due to her own upbringing and interests, but still- maybe not the best lead into a mission involving plenty of pokemon that might not be part steel type.

"Oh, should probably add-" she began, before reaching into her pockets, revealing a handful of other pokeballs "-I have more pokemon, but Tailpipe is the best fighter I got. If Radiator or Axel show up, I'm running low." as she placed the pokeballs away, she would notice the first cluster of Magnemite to scare off. "Tailpipe, mind shouting them off?" without a second thought, the titanabolder would slither a few feet forward "You all may want to cover your ears" she noted, sliding in some ear plugs before a sharp Screech blasted out from Tailpipes maw, scaring off a few of them, leaving the rest ready to fight

Maiyra heard from a customer that-near Oldale town- there was a spot that Steel Pokemon could be found. As she parked her truck, finally in at least a decent enough shape to get her somewhere during a weekend off. She might even be able to catch a new friend! As she removed a Heavy Ball from her bag, she let out a light toss, and in a flash of grey light, and a heavy slam that set off her car alarm, Tailpipe would appear. With a groan, she would kick the side of her truck, hoping beyond hope that it would stop, which it thankfully did for now. She gave a pat to the side of his head, to let him know it was ok, before climbing aboard his head and making her way off into the wilds, hoping to find something interesting.

Mid afternoon on a saturday- bright sun without a cloud in the sky- perfect conditions for Maiyra and Tailpipe to play! It wasn't to different from what one would do with a growlithe pup- the main difference being the size of the stick, and how far the massive Onix would need to move to get it. In reality, he was just happy to be able to stretch, since Maiyra's shop didn't have much space for him to slither around in. Still, as things began to wind down and Maiyra began to get a bit more tired, the sky around them darkened. She raised an eyebrow as she looked up, confused as to how it could get this cloudy this fast.

But with a purple sky, and a now on-edge Tailpipe, she wasn't sure what to think. Still, as heavy foot falls could be heard, she was grabbed and moved by her Onix, barely being moved out of the way of a fast-propelled rock. Her face went white, before climbing on top of her friend. From behind a bush, a titanic Rhydon clambered forward- she guessed it to be at least 10 feet tall. While it wasn't as big as Tailpipe, it was bigger than almost any other pokemon she had seen.

"Tailpipe, Screech it and try to scare it off!" she yelled, grabbing tight as a shockwave of high-powered sound pounded into the drill pokemon, though it barely seemed phased. She just hoped their weren't any more monsters this size, though any other thoughts were cut short as Rhydon slammed an arm into Tailpipe, managing an incredible feat of strength, and pushing it back quite a ways, toppling a tree in the process. "Shit! What's going on!?"
