[attr="class","star2"]Carla glanced past the Milcery and her eyes landed on... a little weird... bug thing. It hopped right up to the both of them and looked straight up to the Trainer. The woman... really didn't know how to feel about it. It was still a fairly small Pokemon but... she didn't know it just had those... weird eyes. Weird, unreadable, almost soulless eyes. She raised her hand to wave at it and then, out of nowhere, it just started screaming. At the top of his lungs. At such a high pitch that it caused Carla to flinch. "Um... It screamed again. "Why are-?" And again. "Wha-?" And again. "Please stop-" It would not. Can you just-?" No. "For one se-" Denied. Shut up!"

[break][break]Finally, the bug stopped screaming every other second and stared right into Carla's soul again. The woman stared at it for a while longer than she wanted to, and then he screamed again, and this time, Carla took a frustrated step forward, causing the little guy to flinch and run away, but not before trying to spit something poisonous at the two as a sort of... parting gift. The woman sighed... yeah, no. She didn't have any kind of patience for that.

[attr="class","star2"]Carla found herself sitting near the edge of the water of a lake that seemed to keep stretching out at her just short of touching her shoe covered toes. This was her first time in this route of Hoenn, and honestly, she wasn’t sure if Route 118 really impressed her all too much. There didn’t seem to be that much to it. It wasn’t a creepy forest, so that was a plus, but… nah, she wasn’t going to complain, actually. This wasn’t a creepy forest with creepy Pokemon. She was happy with this, honestly.

[break][break]Next to her was her new friend, whom she thought to actually bring this time: Cream. Her new Pokemon friend. She knew she was a Milcery now, but she only knew the name of the type of Pokemon she was. Carla thought the name Cream fit her since it was nice and simple, yet it made sense. She was cream colored, and she did look quite a bit like a dollop of cream. The little Pokemon sat under her Trainer’s shadow quite content with herself, in all honesty.

[break][break]Carla placed a hand on the little Pokemon’s… well, whole self, but technically her head… though wasn’t she a head? Anyway, the Milcery was all too happy to receive the little bit of affection from her Trainer, poking at the woman’s fingers when she could. A little break from walking was always a good thing in Carla’s opinion.

[attr="class","star2"]The Umbreon’s growling wasn’t lost on Carla, who instantly flinched upon hearing it. “Uh… it is friendly, isn’t it?” The more the Pokémon growled, the less she thought so. It didn’t seem obvious to her that calling the Pokémon an “it” might not have really helped her case. Regardless, the woman managed to coax her dog into calming down, it seemed. Carla didn’t seem to realize just how intelligent Umbreon was, simply thinking that the woman was probably a really good Trainer.

[break][break]Of course, she was very much aware she knew next to nothing about Pokémon. Anything was possible.

[break][break]Upon hearing what Elise had to say, Carla blinked before standing in silence for a few seconds. She then thought back to Milcery’s reaction to her harsh comment and it clicked. Wait, what had she even said? “Oh crap,” Carla cursed, placing a hand on the side of her head. “Sorry, I tend to let my words out without thinking. I didn’t mean to hurt anyone’s feelings. I just think your dog is super creepy.” It took a further few seconds of silence for her to realize she didn’t really make it any better. “...Uh, no, I mean… No offense?”

[break][break]Yeah, great first impression, Carla. Really hitting it out of the park there.

[break][break]Before she could make even more of a fool of herself, her eyes landed on… perhaps the creepiest little thing she had ever seen. The Pawniard wasn’t even as big as the Umbreon, but it somehow managed to creep Carla out even more. The woman found herself stiffening up at the little guy’s fierce expression. He was completely unreadable as he walked up to Carla. She practically froze in place, cursing herself for leaving her Pokémon at home at a time like this. Was she honestly that stupid?

[break][break]She was hoping that if she was still enough, maybe the Pawniard would go away.

[break][break]Unfortunately, there was only so much she could do to control herself when the little Pokémon placed one of his razor-sharp claws on her shoe. It was at that moment that she decided that she had to get him away from her somehow. She stuck her hand in her purse, and chugged the first thing she grabbed, which happened to be a Pokeball, and threw it at the Pawniard as hard as she could.

[break][break]If successful, the ball would catch the little thing off guard, bouncing off his head hard before pulling him in. Carla’s fingers twitched. She… did not mean to do that.

[attr="class","star2"]Carla looked away for a second and when she looked back at where her flower was, it was gone! The young woman stood up and glanced over to the little Pokémon, who was even smaller than the one she had just befriended. The Milcery stared off at the Flebebe, who proceeded to make faces at her before flying off. Milcery did not appreciate that. The little cream-colored Pokémon puffed her cheeks (could you call it cheeks?) out before furiously hopping in the tiny Pokémon's direction.

[break][break]Milcery was tenacious. The two Pokémon weren't moving particularly quickly, but every time Milcery got close to Flebebe, she would hope to try and give her a piece of her mind, but she would never quite make it. After doing this long enough to get on her nerves, Flebebe turned around and sent empowered leaves to push the little Pokémon back, sending Milcery rolling as Flebebe made her getaway.

[break][break]Carla was quick to check on her new friend. "Hey, are you-?" Once again, though, Carla didn't seem to be Milcery's concern. She slumped over... well it seemed like that anyway, and sulked a little. She clearly hated losing...

[break][break]Carla skipped Flebebe!

[attr="class","star2"]Unlike Elise, who had very wisely brought three very strong Pokemon with her, Carla came in alone. The young woman had virtually no confidence in her ability to fight anything with her small size and lack of fighting capabilities in general. To be fair, though, it wasn’t like she did it on purpose. She was so thrown off by the tree houses in Fortree City that she plum forgot her Pokemon in her PC. In any case, it was hard to imagine that her tiny new friends would be of any help here.

[break][break]The woman was just about flinching at just about anything that moved… she was so much more unprepared than she realized. Perhaps she was in way over her head. Was she honestly this desperate to prove that she had value too? Absolutely not… but it was pretty much too late to turn back now, so what the hay, might as well.

[break][break]The woman kept moving forward and then paused for a good while when she saw this… black… dog… thing with rings around its body. She locked eyes with his red eyes, and she dared to slowly raise her hand up and give him a gentle wave. He was just about the freakiest thing she had ever seen… but… who knows? Maybe it was friendly?

[break][break]Before she could finish her thought, she noticed how fierce the Milcery stared right back at her. The Fairy-Type seemed absolutely furious, and it was only at that moment that she realized how intelligent Pokémon could be. Had she understood everything Carla said? Further observation proved that it probably hurt the Pokémon's feelings, too. The woman frowned a little. That was quite immature of her to get all up in arms over the opinion of a little Pokémon. "Sorry..." She said, earning a head tilt from the Pokémon. "I can get wound up really quickly, it's not your fault. I shouldn't have been so harsh..."

[break][break]Behind him was a woman, and… honestly, she felt relieved at the sight. The woman let out a sigh. “Oh, thank goodness…” she immediately said. “For a second there, I thought I was stuck alone with the evil looking dog monster…”

[break][break]…Yeah, Carla didn’t even seem to flinch after saything that. Had she even known how rude that was?

[attr="class","star2"]Carla was startled upon noticing an incredibly credibly tiny blob of... a sort of cream? With a face? It was really hard to tell, to be honest. The young woman whiffed the air a little bit and found herself smiling a little. The Pokémon certainly had a sweet smell to it. She assumed it was a Pokémon, anyway... It looked more like food with a face. Either way, Carla couldn't help but smile at it. "Aw, aren't you adorable!" She just about squeed with a grin, causing the Milcery, who had simply been admiring a flower at the time, to wince a little bit.

[break][break]This caused the young woman to flinch a little in turn... but despite the Milcery's uncertainty, the little Pokémon still seemed rather curious. It carefully hopped toward Carla once, twice, three times, sniffing at the woman a little bit. She was certainly a curious little creature.

[break][break]Still, she quickly turned toward the flower in front of her once again as if to ignore her. Carla felt a twinge of offense at the gesture, and pouted at the Pokémon. "What? You think I'm unremarkable, too?" She huffed, and Milcery didn't even react as if she'd said anything. "Well, you're not all that special either, I bet." That seemed to offend the Pokémon quite a bit, and she hopped over at the human aggressively. Naturally, it looked a million times cuter than threatening, but it all stopped being cute when Milcery let out a colorful wave of light at the woman. Carla let out a yelp and fell over before turning at the Pokémon filled with anger. "Why you...!"

[break][break]Before she could finish her thought, she noticed how fierce the Milcery stared right back at her. The Fairy-Type seemed absolutely furious, and it was only at that moment that she realized how intelligent Pokémon could be. Had she understood everything Carla said? Further observation proved that it probably hurt the Pokémon's feelings, too. The woman frowned a little. That was quite immature of her to get all up in arms over the opinion of a little Pokémon. "Sorry..." She said, earning a head tilt from the Pokémon. "I can get wound up really quickly, it's not your fault. I shouldn't have been so harsh..."

[break][break]After a few moments of silence, the Milcery settled down and smiled at the woman. She brought her attention back to the flower before taking great care to take it out of the ground and hopping over to the human with it. Gently, but confidently, Milcery handed the new cadet the flower with a gentle smile on her face. Carla looked at it for a second before smiling at it, taking it, and looking the flower over. The two sat in silence for a little while longer... Carla had a feeling she'd just made a new friend.

[attr="class","star2"]Alright, Carla... just take it one step at a time... The young woman took a deep breath a let it out as she walked around the fairly grassy terrain surrounding her. It was a nature lover's paradise. Everything from the tiniest of flowers to the largest of trees cascaded the scenery around her. If it wasn't a specific zone, she might've been worried that she could've gotten lost. She took another breath. This was her first real encounter with Pokémon... she'd go face to face with creatures she'd heard of, seen glimpses of in her backyard, and yet know so little about them.

[break][break]There was a perk to it: neither of her siblings knew much about them either.

[break][break]She shook her head. It was immature to be thinking about her siblings, and it was pointless to let them be the center of her issues at a time like this. What she needed right now was to focus. To become one with nature... what better way to find a Pokemon here?

[break][break]"...Me? Oh, you're talking to me. Well, I'm rather honest, perhaps too much so. My parents certainly say I should be careful about what I say. I tend to rush into things without thinking everything through, and I trust my heart and my gut over my head... to a detriment. I can be a bit hot headed when things aren't going the way I hope or when people are getting on my nerves, but I also don't hold grudges. Grudges are pointless. I hate pointless things. I'm totally not insecure, and I don't have a lot to prove, so quit asking... What? I mean it! I don't have those issues, stop looking at me like that! Move on!"

[break][break]what are your best attributes?

[break][break]"My family tells me I'm a hard worker, and I do take quite a bit of pride in that... They think that's all I have to offer, though. In my opinion, that's just my best quality. I happen to also be intelligent... just not as smart as my brother and sister. I'm rather strong... just not as strong as my brother. I'm kind... just not as kind as my sister. If you haven't caught a pattern, every positive trait that I have, my brother and sister have it in spades. I happen to be the younger sister of twins who are both the apple of my parents' eye so... I'm just left with the table scraps I guess."

[break][break]"My brother tells me I'm bossy, my sister tells me I'm rude. To me, my worst quality is that I'm just not remarkable. [break][break]"Fine... I guess? I grew up in Nimbasa City Unova and I have a bit of an aristocratic background, so naturally everyone there had a competitive streak. Don't... tell anyone by the way. It was hard for kids who didn't really have any significant talents... like me. The silence I would often receive every time I was reminded that I'm not good enough was worse than being flat out bullied for it. At least if I was bullied, I'd be able to let out my frustration on something. It wasn't equal, but at the very least my parents loved me... I think. They only ever wanted what was best for me... that's why they pushed me to my limit... anyway, next question."

[break][break]"Well, I like reading, and trying new things in general. One hobby I do every once in a while, is look up different Pokémon in different environments. I would like to know where they all live and why they like it there. I also like reading about things outside of this planet, though I think it's cool until someone tries to be all philosophical about it. Can't we just talk about how cool they are without making it depressing? I don't really have a lot of experience with Pokémon outside of books to be honest. They've just never been a huge part of our family life. Us Bombardo are too busy for that. I also play the piano, that's something I never stopped. I'm sure my sister is better at it than me, but hey... I play it more. I also sketch sometimes, but... they're not very good. I can sing, I guess, but my brother's a better singer."

[break][break]"I'm single... Not looking particularly hard right now, but if I met the right person, I might go on a date. Not a likely scenario, though, to be honest. Don't tell my siblings, but I'm a secret romantic."

[break][break]"I don't have any specifics yet. I'm trying to find my place in this world, and I want to stand out doing it. I'm tired of sitting in the background being looked down on. I'm hoping that joining the League will help me in that goal, though I am aware that it's possible that even they can't do anything for me. Outside of that, I'm still trying to figure it out..."

[break][break]"Mystery to solve. Opportunity to break free. Something new to discover. Something that's been all around me and yet I know almost nothing about them. Excitement. Adventure. Honestly, that's all they really mean to me. I've never really had a close encounter with any of them, so it's hard for me to really form an opinion. I've always been at arm's length with them... I'm only now going to change that."
