She wanted to go fast too, but... well... she didn't have any legs. She looked down at the rest of her and her little arms slumped down a little in disappointment. Milcerys couldn't run fast... could she hop fast? Cream looked up at Pinkie and shrugged.

[break][break]Meanwhile, Carla heard Josh out on what he was getting ready for and the young woman arched an eyebrow curiously. "A race?" She questioned. "That's pretty cool. Is it... cat and dog themed?" Naturally Carla didn't know what any of these Pokémon were, and on top of that, she had a big mouth. So, it didn't occur to her that calling them cats and dogs would be insulting. She already insulted one Umbreon, and it seemed like the only lesson she learned was to not look an Umbreon straight in the eye for too long. "Eh... Um... I guess yours isn't as creepy as the other one I met..." She said, referring to the Dark Type dog like Pokémon.

[break][break]Carla smiled upon Josh introducing himself. "My name's Carlotta Bombardo... But you can call me Carla. I..." Carla paused for a moment before fidgeting with her hands a little. "I don't happen to have a fancy title... B-but, I am a part of an aristocratic family in Unova." Carla folded her arms over her chest as if that made her at the same level as an Elite Ranger and Gym Leader...

[break][break]A Wugtrio stuck its head out of a rather big stone and made the mistake of shoving her face too close to Cream's. The Dazzling Gleam was enough to send it hiding back in its rock with no trouble.

[attr="class","star2"]When Carla first encountered it... well, let's just say she didn't appreciate its sense of humor. Looking over at what... looked like herself, but with a derpy smile of some kind. The woman folded her arms over her chest and the stranger did the same thing. Honestly, who was this thing trying to fool anyway?

[break][break]At that moment, oddly enough, she could hear a sort of orchestral in the distance. Someone was definitely playing some kind of song, but that just seemed to make her lose her patience more with this situation, and just made Ditto giggle more.

[break][break]'At last... My love has come along. My lonely days are over. And life is like-"

[break][break]Before they could properly listen to the song, Carla just chucked the Pokeball in an attempt to catch it. Honestly, some of these Pokemon just boggled her mind...

[attr="class","star2"]Carla found herself in a new area of Hoenn she hadn’t been before. Verdanturf was certainly a beautiful, quaint little town, and she could feel the calming air the moment she entered. With her was Lance, her Pawniard, whom she was trying her best to get better acquainted with. She was having… trouble with him. Well, not with him specifically, he was trying his best to follow her lead. In fact, of all of her Pokemon, he was the most earnest.

[break][break]It was actually her own perception of him that prevented them from having a good relationship. It all stemmed from the creepy aura she seemed to get from him. She wasn’t certain if this was just how she felt around all Dark Type Pokemon, or if she was just meeting the especially creepy ones. Either way, Pawniard, despite his rather loyal nature, was the subject of Carla’s uncertainties.

[break][break]The woman placed a single finger on the side of her jaw as she progressively grew frustrated with herself. “...Man… why couldn’t I have caught a cuter Pokemon?” Despite the harsh words, Pawniard didn’t make any kind of reaction to them, which seemed to just frustrate Carla even more. “Are you just staring into deep space or something? Did you even hear what I said?!”

[break][break]Pawniard simply placed a claw on the girl’s leg as he looked around the environment. Yes, it seemed everything was calme and soothing. The perfect place to relax and clear one’s head. This, however, made Pawniard stick out like a sore thumb. He simply wasn’t a calming presence, and in fact, everyone who glanced in his direction appeared unsettled by him. But Pawniard remained unreadable, almost like none of this affected him.

[attr="class","star2"]With the Pawniard officially caught, the woman was in quite a bit of shock. Wait… did she just catch that little thing? She formed a rather perturbed expression on her face as it all sank in. She was stuck with the Pawniard, wasn’t she? The woman drawled out a sigh at her predicament. She was aware that all she would have to do is release the Pokemon if she truly didn’t want it. Problem solved, right? Well… that involved one thing she really didn’t want: let it out of its ball.

[break][break]So no, the problem wasn’t solved. It just meant she needed to keep her new “friend” in his ball for as long as she could. This wouldn’t last, though. Not at all.

[break][break]However, her attention was taken away from this the more Elise talked, and Carla’s attention was brought to one particular detail. “You’re a princess?!” She almost screamed in excitement, clasping her hands together, smiling at the woman quite brightly. She… didn’t really catch too much else of what Elise said. Frankly, the other woman was lucky she caught her name. “Oh, introductions! I’m Carlotta Bombardo. You can call me Carla. I’m from a pretty aristocratic family myself, though I’m uh… not a princess.” Nope. Her older sister was the princess of the family. Carla was just the big mouth.

[break][break]Still, she just couldn’t contain her excitement, even to her detriment. “I’ve always wanted to meet a princess from Galar! Oh, what’s it like there? I mean in Galar. Never been. You can talk about the royal family too if you want. I want all the details, every one of them, or my sister is never going to believe I actually met a princess…” Carla stood in silence for several seconds before realizing another misstep. “N-not that I care about that… or anything. I’m just curious is all…”

[break][break]Carla squinted at the Umbreon intimidating all the other Pokémon away when the worst possible thing happened: Pawniard hopped out of his ball. He was officially caught, but his attention was quickly moved to his fellow Dark Type: The Umbreon scaring the other Pokémon away. Pawniard stared up at the dog, trying to get a read in his eyes, before a sort of twinkle sparked in them. The little Pokémon then turned to the wild ones and made an attempt of his own to intimidate them.

[break][break]It was really the Umbreon’s efforts, but when the Pokemon ran away, Pawniard still felt like he contributed, and thus puffed out his chest, placing his hands, which were literal blades, on his hips as he gave Umbreon a look of pride. Or… maybe that was what he was doing? It was still so hard to read his face, it was mostly his body language that suggested all of this. Either way, he seemed determined to impress Umbreon.

[attr="class","star2"]Carla glanced over her shoulder, catching sight of a rather… round bluish green Pokémon. The stared at her with a rather blank expression, causing the woman to let out a squeak as the, causing her little cream-colored companion to flinch as she stared at the considerably bigger Pokémon in slight confusion. The strange Pokémon had a face that was hard to read due to the strange eyes on the sides of her face, but even if they weren't there, the Pokémon blankly smiled at the two.

[break][break]The two looked at the Pokémon for several tense moments before finally deciding to relax and relax in her seat. It was at that moment that electricity started dancing around the Pokemon just as the Vaporeon leapt into the water. The woman and Milcery were both enveloped in electricity before Belibolt trotted away, giggling all the way. The woman was still from shock while Cream hopped in anger, yelling after the retreating Belibolt, angrily scolding her for doing such a thing.

[break][break]Carla shook her head before looking ahead and noticing the Vaporeon swimming around the water, straightening herself up at the sight of the Pokémon. Who was that? What kind of Pokémon was that? It was then that she looked over and… well, honestly if she hadn’t been relaxing, she might’ve noticed the brood of cat and dog like creatures surrounding a young man who was mounted on one of them: the yellow, fairly spikey looking one.

[break][break]The woman looked over at Kamuy, remembering seeing an Umbreon earlier, and she let out a bit of a sigh. Great… another one. Wasn’t it just amazing that she had to deal with another freaky dog? Still, it wasn’t a sort of situation that didn’t catch attention, and the woman was quite curious. Cream was also quick to ignore her previous irritation when the ribbon covered Pokémon approached them, hopping over at Pinky in clear excitement.

[break][break]This was as good of an excuse as any for the woman to approach them. “Hey,” the woman greeted with a wave as the Milcery was quick to engage with the other Fairy-Type Pokémon. “You’ve got quite the group set up. Getting ready for an event of some kind?”

[attr="class","star2"]The woman was so enamored by the Minccino who had chosen to rest on her head, that she didn't even notice a little kitten coming out of the bushes. The little feline looked up at the woman, and for whatever reason, he seemed to instantly take a shine to her. The little nose sniffed as he approached the woman, who now had a rather flustered Minccino on her lap, rubbing his belly as she laughed. The kitten sat in front of the woman, slowly wagging her tail from side to side as he stared at the woman full of curiosity.

[break][break]The kitten let out little mewl sounds to try and get some kind of attention. The kitten raised his paw and nudged the woman's leg before licking it and twitching her ears. The woman continued to be ignorant to the cat's presence. The kitten was annoyed. The kitten took a few steps back before jumping at the woman's face and knocking her back.

[break][break]Carla screamed a little as she fell back, looking up at a rather annoyed kitten. The woman stared at the kitten for a few seconds before a huge smile formed on her face. She felt like she was going to squeal. "Oh... my... goodness! You are just about the cutest kitty I've ever seen, c'mere you!" Carla pulled the kitten into a bit of a snuggle fest... to which Sprigatito decided he actually didn't like this anymore and tried to wriggle his way out of her arms.

[break][break]His efforts proved futile since he was a teeny tiny kitten, but... he kinda warmed up to the affection after a few seconds. He really couldn't resist the attention.

[attr="class","star2"]Carla had recently read about swarms, and word spread that this one involved Pokémon called Gardevoir, whatever those were. Honestly, from what she saw, they looked like quite elegant Pokémon. It was also quite sweet that they had a sort of loyalty for their Trainer that didn't seem paralleled to other Pokémon with high power and intelligence to boot. Regardless, Carla had to at least try to catch one.

[break][break]The woman recalled her sister wearing a prom dress with a similar elegance to Gardevoir. She remembered feeling so jealous... When she went to prom, it wasn't nearly as glamorous.

[break][break]With her was Lance, her fairly new companion, who had already taken to a sort of protector roll for her. It seemed as though Elise's Umbreon really made an impression on him. Either that, or Carla did. Either way, the Pawniard remained as unreadable as ever, and he simply refused to leave his Trainer's side. The second the two locked eyes with a Gardevoir, the little soldier Pokémon took a fierce stance before running at the bigger Pokémon and attempting to land an Assurance attack on it.

[break][break]It was possible that this Pokémon was quite a bit smaller than an actual Gardevoir, or maybe it wasn't in the Gardevoir line at all. It was Pawniard who had jumped to attack after all. Carla didn't give him the order. Either way, everything happened so fast that she threw the Pokeball anyway, hoping it would work out in her favor.

[attr="class","star2"]The cycle of misses was finally put to an end when the woman snapped out of her paralysis with a little white tail flicking at her face. Carla moaned a little and then let out a sneeze, which caused the little Pokémon attached to the tail to flinch, but ultimately, it sniffed at her face a little more. The woman was immediately enamored by the cute little Pokémon, though his curiosity didn't seem to have a sense of space. His ears twitched before he glanced over at the little blob of cream, who hopped over to him with a gentle wave. He dusted his tail on her head, but honestly didn't give her much more of a reaction. This... definitely put Milcery off, but at least he wasn't aggressive like the other Pokémon were.

[break][break]On the contrary, Minccino didn't appear to like conflict of any kind. He would much rather mind his own business and keep his own area tidy, but as Minccino were, even he couldn't help himself sometimes. Luckily, he tended to be faster than those he upset. Carla cautiously held her hand out to the little chinchilla, who quite insistently sniffed at her. "Hey there, little guy," she whispered at him gently. He stiffened at first... but ultimately started licking at her hand which earned him a pet on the head. "Would you like to be my friend?"

[break][break]The Minccino quietly looked up at her before climbing up the woman's arm and winding up on her head. He curled up there, and it seemed like that was going to be his perch from now on. So long as he didn't mess up her hair, she was okay with that.
