claire, greeted by the young man, held a worried expression toward Adrian Malcolm. it was neither inviting nor warm, but set as though he had an objective to complete. it was then that her pokemon, gardevoir, emerged from its pokeball. "gardevoir..." she could feel her trainer's emotion rising with anxiety. claire, standing behind her, wasn't sure as to where she was or what was happening. "excuse me, but i'm looking for someone. i'm not exactly sure as to how i got here, but i don't mean any harm." she hesitantly spoke. unsure if there was a confusion among the trio.

she was not within her right to argue with her soon to be mentor. though it was hard to ignore what he had stated. she would look toward his permanent scar, wondering if that truly been what it meant to be a leader?

what exactly could she learn from him? that in order to get anywhere in life one had to endure the irreparable pain from it? looking to the brown liquid that was offered. she would disregard the treat. after all, quenching what little thirst she had was the last thing on her mind.

"i'm your ward, so i think i am allowed to say this but...you have a callous ideal."

she would look to the outside. separated from it all by a window. "there is no peace without sacrifice..." such a thought lingered for a moment, "...how cruel." she would look back toward FERNANDO SILPH , "but that doesn't mean we should forsake that path if it's possible." as he said: success is relative.

"i..." she thought to herself for a brief moment before continuing, "i want to polish that path." a tough path indeed. she had no idea what laid before her future. but this was a route she felt her father would want for her. "i think that's what my father would want, i-i think." she wasn't sure if this was the right call, but, in some way, it was like a challenge. a clash of ideals of sorts. the experienced vs. the inexperienced. rose-colored cheeks would bloom as she would come to find her resolve.

"if that path still does exist, then i'll have to be the first to come back from it."

there is always another way. that's what she wanted to believe. it's what she has to believe.

there was a swarm happening. right in front of her donut. she would attempt to catch one, after she finished eating her crispy cream.

and so her lessons began. as his back shifted from claire her expression, simultaneously, had as well. hands before clasped before her waist, she would follow the silph head with a dignified gait.

as they moved toward the opulent comfort of the silph owned vehicle. claire would take notice of those murmuring and whispering amongst themselves. as she remained looking forward, she was consciously aware of the sound surrounding them. she would then proceed to look toward FERNANDO SILPH 's back. his very own posture and gait emanated a story that made her want to understand him, this place, and all who lived within it. for what had hoenn become since her visit back when she was just a mere girl. for what had this region done to a man of his caliber that garnered the eyes and ears of the civilian around him. so many questions continued to spawn with her and it only brought about worry for her future stay here.

as they neared the vehicle. she would enter first. once they were both inside and the engine began to rev, she would look back to the outside world as many began to take pictures. "the limelight is no different from home," she commented. claire, looking toward FERNANDO SILPH , would say, "i don't want that." the comment may have seemed random, but it was toward his lecture.

"why..." she'd pause before continuing, "...why does that have to be success? who dictates that to be just?" she was calm, but firm in her words. "it's not right." her words, though naïve, contained a simple conviction. "isn't there always another route? one that doesn't lead to a bad end?"

that was the first word that came to her mind. staring at the family head of a name she hadn't heard since her youth. the boy she once knew had become a man without a face. he was almost unrecognizable had he forsaken his name. "agakura, claire..." she introduced herself with a slight curtsy.[break]

it was strange. meeting him like this. there was a brief moment where claire readied to speak, but she would hold her tongue. no this wasn't the right time. she was here as a student and representative of the company she was soon to inherit, had she the chance to fulfill the criteria. "thank you for taking me in and accepting my family's request, mr. silph."

as she eyed the man did, she, too, continue to study him. exhaustion had been worn upon his face. for what had he been through to have led such a permanent scar? for what war had he been fighting? her hand, without thought, began to maneuver toward the side of his cheek; though, she would stop herself from touching him. "your hurt," she commented, "and you look exhausted." an expression of worry for him had been made.

her hand would return to her side as gardevoir watched from behind. "excuse me, i didn't mean to pry. this is not what my being here is for." that's right. he would serve as her teacher and guardian for the duration she was here. and so, she needed to act accordingly. all for her family.

brushing a strand of curls to the side, a feminine gaze would take in the sight before her. rosy cheeks would compliment an ecstatic expression as the woman became enamored by the city the ship would soon dock. though, beneath the surface, she possessed both worry and a sense of yearning. she would look back toward the sea as she thought of home. a narrow gaze had been enough to indicate that it would be sometime before she would return home.

with her luggage the female civilian proceeded to disembark the ship. it was said that she would meet a familiar face. this individual was said to be a longtime family friend. someone she'd met once or twice during her time as an adolescent. she tried her best to remember his name, but nothing came to mind. it was practically embarrassing as her face contorted in her attempt to remember them.

sighing, she would say, "i give up." suddenly, a flash of white light would expel from her purse. "gardevoir!" she was shocked by the female pokemon's sudden appearance. "i'm guessing you could sense my worry, i apologize." she would place a palm upon the psychic fairy's cheek. "i'm just nervous is all. being in a new place," she would look at those who had also disembarked sometime ago, "i've never been so far from home on my own."

then again she wasn't on her own. she had her pokemon. with gardevoir here, she was put at ease. "my escort should be here sometime soon. i hope nothing happened on their way here." she worriedly pondered aloud.
