With the smile and bravado of someone who was talking to a long lost friend. "I'm sure someone with your job description has enough stories to fill at least seven books and 3 novels." It wasn't just about the mist, it sounded like every phenomena that happened in Hoenn was worth some form of study.[break][break]

Caelum would take a pause mid thought once the words "facing extinction with a dome over our heads". Frowning in pure confusion and astonishment. "Rewind a bit there." He'd say while moving his hands back in a circle. "What's this about a extinction inducing dome!?" The most "HUH" like expressions taking shape.[break][break]

But before his curiosity could take full hold, he was suddenly taking mental notes of everything that he should to find himself in all sorts of interesting situations in this brand new world, nodding every now and again like the mischievous child that he was. "I'll be sure to avoid everything, sir! Scouts honor!" He wasn't a scout though.[break][break]

Permission was indeed something he would soon be looking for but he figured that sometimes it was better to ask for forgiveness than for permission. "You say nothing is coming out... Which makes me assume things did come out before?" He had to make sure, for his own sanity and the sake of the little gamer theories running around his crazy brain.[break][break]

Inevitably this had been a huge step in the right direction for his research, after all he had nothing before he had come here. "You've greatly enlightened my knowledge today!" Caelum would say with the voice and bravado of a student at his first day of lectures and it was his favorite teacher speaking. "Although I have the slight feeling I should have called for a drink instead. With all these crazy stories and all." [break][break]

Caelum would shake his his head as the apology came out. "No no no no! This is no reason to apologize at all, it's nothing official so please do not worry about it." He didn't want to blame the man in front of him especially as the stories kept coming out, ever making him feel like he was in the presence of a Hooen Hero.[break][break]

With every word that left Paxton's mouth Caelum would become more curious and impressed. Perhaps the true anomaly here weren't the pokemon in front of them but their owner instead. Making sure the student took mental notes of everything the teacher said at the imaginary podium, his own person lesson into the wonderful world of Paradox pokemon.[break][break]

Snapping back into reality as Paxton finished this incredible tale. "Well, it seems like in every corner there's something happening here. I'm happy to have moved if that's the case." Caelum would nod with the biggest smirk on his lips, like a child who was ready to get up to no good. "So from one professional to another, do you have any tips how to avoid these crazy dangers?" Obviously wanting the opposite of that.[break][break]

As if he had become many years younger and his father had brought him the best christmas gift ever. Eyes filled with joy and wonder, shining as bright as the sun in the sky. He wanted to walk around each pokemon, taking in their whole being, their differences from their natural counterparts, their biology, their existence, As if they had walked straight out of a dream and the dreamer didn't exactly know what the pokemon looked like. "It's an amazing pleasure, Paxton. Truly an amazing experience too!"[break][break]

Days like these were exactly the reason he had studied and wasted so many days of his life, everything becoming worth, in only a few seconds. Still in awe, he had no time to fear, he only wanted to wonder, let his mind make connections till everything made sense inside his crazy head. He'd listen to Paxton try to explain how he had found these amazing creatures. [break][break]

"I'm sorry! You just spoke crazy words to me... I've ready hundreds of books and seen way too many scientific conventions but never heard anything like you just said." It was true. The way Paxton talked about it made it feel like it was a common Wednesday here in Hoenn. "I'm going to need you to slow down, I feel like a child in a science class for the first time" Taking one last look at the two pokemon before him before turning his full attention towards Paxton.[break][break]

"POSTDORM!? You were inside Dream Mist!? These aren't things that happen where I'm from." Caelum would ask and say with a confused smile as if he needed a much greater explanation. "Could I have all the details, pretty please?"[break] In another world he would want the details to see if he could mimic the circumstances so he could perhaps further his own personal interests, alas all he wanted was to learn and share his knowledge one day.[break]

Caelum would patiently watch as she sat down. Her grin, posture and beautiful eyes all looked perfect, like a painting that had been recently made by a celestial being. She had been incredibly accurate, leaving an imprint on his mind was an understatement. "Don't worry about leaving that mental imprint. I would much rather have a different kind of mark left on me though!" He'd reply with his own grin and a small wink towards her.[break][break]

Leaning back and taking a sip of his own drink, curiosity fully peaking as she explained that there was something better on the menu, just not tonight. "That's really unfortunate, I guess I'm going to have to keep coming back." He'd look a bit pouty as he said that but in a second his expression would soften up once more. "Having just you does sound like a fine, I just think you'll be the one on the losing side of this deal." A small laugh would escape him, being humble wasn't something he normally did, making even himself laugh. [break][break]

As another bottle was delivered to their table. Caelum would make sure to pour a glass for her too, in the end even if she decided to keep herself free from alcohol he wouldn't be a single bit mad, for him the real treasure of the night was having such a beauty as company. Nodding towards the attendant showing that everything was perfectly fine and that he could leave without worries. [break][break]

Caelum couldn't help himself once she said the word "bite", he had to let a smile show. It was indeed one of the many things he liked when ending a night with someone but that was something for later, right now he had to answer a very simple question. "The name is Caelum. Caelum Reinhardt at your service." He'd say offering her the champagne he had just poured. "Since you're the one biting, I wouldn't mind learning your name too" A small grin, he hand't flirted with someone interesting a long while so tonight felt special.[break][break]

It had been many years since Caelum hadn't attended one of these, or perhaps it had only been 2 years or so, he wasn't an old timer after all and despite having a party persona he also enjoyed learning. Conventions had always been a interesting place for Caelum, he never enjoyed being the speaker, it wasn't the type of attention he enjoyed, but listening, that he was good at. [break][break]

Sitting down and not doing something for a long period of time wasn't included within the long list of things he was good at though, thankfully between speakers they were allowed to take breaks and have a snack at the long table offering them somewhat convenient food. His goal had been learning small tid-bits about Paradox Pokemon, the entire reason he had moved to this new region, other than annoying his siblings.[break][break]

After a long and arduous and full length talk about how changing the ecosystem of certain area could affect on the birth rate of Caterpies and how bad it would turn out if they went extinct. Half the time Caelum had dozed off, believing in his own theories over the ones being spoken. Thankfully it was over and it was time for snacks.[break][break]

Finally stretching his legs and looking over the table, picking up a piece of toast with some form of spread on top. "Perfect! Something strange!" He'd say to himself picking the toast up, slowly moving his newly acquired food towards his mouth before someone bumped him on his back, making him drop the piece of toast, fumbling it between his hands at least three times before it hit the table once again. "That's unfortunate..." Caelum would whisper to himself turning around to see who had forsaken his toast time.[break][break]

Firstly his eyes would dart back and forth taking in the information about the lady now in front of me, calculating how his interaction should go. BINGO! a lightbulb in his brain would light up as he noticed the pamphlet in her hands. "O hey! No worries! There's plenty of toast where that one came from." He'd would say with a warm smile. "I see we're here for the same reason!" He'd point towards the paper in her hands. "Very interesting topic if you ask me. I haven't been able to figure out a single thing about it though!" He wanted to push on a little bit of small talk but also bait her in perhaps give him a little bit about her identity, since the only thing he had on her was how incredibly pretty she was.[break][break]

Caelum enjoyed the idea of a simple in and out job, it for sure beat staying inside a lab all day. Seeing pokemon in the wild always brought him more joy than simply having one being studied under a microscope or in a confined and controlled environment. He never showed but the many scars hidden by his fancy clothing only showed his past history with pokemon.[break][break]

"That sounds perfect!" Caelum would answer enthusiastically. "I've seen Z-Moves in controlled environments but I'm still curious to see what you have cooking up!" It was true, he had seen it being studied a few times and seen it in battles through TV but never in person. [break][break]

He'd nod in acceptance that he'd have to have his pokemon ready as well. He'd hop off the Pyroar and give it a few pats as a thank you for carrying him all the way here. Taking out earbuds from his pocket and putting them unto he ears and blasting music, he'd also cup his ears with his hands just to make sure. Caelum would carefully watch what unfolded in front of his eyes.[break][break]

As the pyroars bellowed out alonf with Josh's own movements. Shivers couldn't help but travel down Caelum's back, the hairs on his arms standing up as the roar reached it's peak. The smaller pokemon scattering like rodents. Caelum would quickly come into action as per Josh's request, trowing one of his many empty pokeballs at the bigger pokemon, hopping to Arceus for the right amount of shakes.[break][break]

The trip there had been a very interesting experience for Caelum, he had studied and understood pokemon anatomy, he knew the muscles that were moving and stretching, he knew what they were for and how much pressure a body took to move in such a way. He wasn't a pokemon rider like Josh Devlin who likely knew things from instinct and skill but instead he was a scientist who knew how things were working on the inside.[break][break]

Once they had arrived at the coordinates and fully stopped on their tracks, Caelum would take a deep breath. The feeling had been the same as going through a roller-coaster, thrilling yet enjoyable. He had to take a second to let his mental state to catch up with them, something that felt long but only took a second. [break][break]

Caelum would nod once Josh started speaking about their options. "I prefer the second option, it feels like the most optimal choice here, dealing with bigger groups could also make our lives a lot easier." As someone who had no actual combat training outside of his pokemon, Caelum would prefer to deal with their targets as swiftly as possible. He wanted to look at this as logical as possible, for his own safety.[break][break]

It wasn't that Caelum cared about the person in general, it was closer to him caring about the world around him more than anything, if people didn't make the right choices even for selfish reasons the world would be a much darker place. "Don't you worry. I don't have a single chance of doing anything." Caelum would start moving for the exchange when Shalin whispered and he maybe knew what to do next.[break][break]

As soon as Shalin Nariya made her move he had to do something too, his only reaction was to protect himself with his arms and try to protect the hostage along with him. The shotgun-like spikes flying everywhere, there had to be an opportunity just around the corner somewhere. That opportunity would soon come in the shape of a DAZZLING GLEAM the pokemon who picked up the athlete before bumping into Caelum and Shalin. [break][break]

At this point his legs would naturally react with the scenario, quickly signaling to his Charizard to start running alone with the rest of them, slipping and squeaking all the way. He had no idea if this was the plan all along but he it was working, he thought at least. He wouldn't stop running they had reached the outside or if Shalin herself would stop. Thank Arceus he had always kept himself healthy.[break][break]

Listening to Shalin's instructions and following the signs along the corridors of the gymnasium, shoes squeaking with every turn, the charizard bumping into everything it possibly could on it's way. Expenses that were to hopefully be put on the Ranger Bureau and not on himself, as much as his family could afford it. [break][break]

Whoever had targeted the place would most definitely hear him coming, there was no exact way to be sneaky in a situation like this, someone had just asked for his help and he wasn't about to let them down in the same day, that was more of a second meeting thing. [break][break]

Sliding into the room only to have words thrown at him. He wasn't ready, he wasn't trained for situations like these, unless he skipped the anti terrorism classes at university. "Hey there dude! I'm only here so I don't get fined." He'd say putting his hands up. "Hey if you want a really good hostage you can take me. I promise you that my family has a substancial amount of money." Was he really offering to take the hostage's place? Not really, he was trying to give Shalin enough time to think of something. [break][break]

Hoping that rangers were trained in taking over hostage situations, because Arceus knew he wasn't.[break][break]

For once, ever since since Caelum had arrived in Hoenn he was taking time to himself, not for his siblings for the future of all of Pokemon race. He had once again found himself within his favorite hostess club, not at all because this was the only club he had visited so far. Caelum had learned to enjoy the night life ever since he had left for schooling in his earlier years. He wasn't exactly there for the girls or the shows specifically, Caelum just loved the vibes a place like this gave to the people. [break][break]

It wasn't to say that he didn't enjoy the girls though because god damn he loved the show that was given to the club just now, what things would he give to have a personal performance from the most recent dancer (Jasmine Blair)? He would give the entire balance in his family's current bank account. He couldn't blame all the noises coming from the crowd, he was barely holding himself on going feral.[break][break]

As things came down and the crowd volume was naturally lowered. It was time for Aidan to relax, he didn't have one of the many hostess as company right now but what he did have was some good cold liquor. Taking his seat and relaxing to take in the amazing vibes that the club brought him, the hustle and bustle, the conversations, the music, he loved every second of it.[break][break]

His eyes closed taking in the moment, only opening them up once a voice called to him. Witnessing the what he truly thought was a dream, an angel had finally come to take him to the promised lands? "Enjoying your stay?" Oh! He was definitely about to love his stay. "Your performance up there! I don't think I'll ever forget it." He didn't want to let his chance of spending a fortune on a bad idea go that easily, both his siblings did it, it was his turn now. "May I buy you a drink?" He'd say moving over so she would have a place to sit beside him. [break][break]

Could he even complain that he was working overtime while on vacation? No, he could not complain at all since he was't working at all, matter of fact he was't even hired by anyone as of now, so everyday was a brand new holiday. Caelum did find it strangely funny how much he would be contacted by Ranger HQs for small jobs.[break][break]

At least this time he was being sent somewhere he was interest in, parks had always been a good place watch the more tame wild pokemon so this might be a small chance to see some new species he hadn't seen in his native region. Quickly making his way through the streets to his destination.[break][break]

"What in tarnation!?" Caelum would speak up once he noticed the crazy crowd around what he would have assumed was the entrance to the park. "What is going on!?" Caelum would bounce up and down trying to see over the people before he'd try to excuse his way through everyone.[break][break]

The moment he sees what was causing the crazy ruckus, he'd facepalm himself now realizing why he had been called there. "Nooooooooooo! Not this! Was I really told to come here to bother a Slaking!? Unbelievable!" Pain filled his voice as he dramatized his situation. He had dealt with the pokemon before but never had to make one move. At least he knew he should be meeting someone here, hopefully a ranger who had some experience with heavy lifting. Finding that ranger was definitely his first priority as of now.[break][break]

The weather was amazing and the day was beautiful, as if someone had painted the blue sky and clouds with pure joy and excitement. Caelum was starting to regret dressing up as much as he had, the consequences of trying to dress somewhat professionally was really getting to him. Just imagine how further the world would have been if scientists could have a cold mojito while working on days like these.[break][break]

As the "Over here" reached his ear, his eyes would pick up on two pokemon he had never seen before. Caelum was pretty sure that his jaw dropped to the floor as he stared back and forth at the two creatures that were very much unknown to him. He truly felt like a child who had walked into Santa's workshop right before Chritmas. Picking up his jaw from the floor he'd finally find the voice he had been following before.[break][break]

"Yes we spoke... On the phone!" Caelum couldn't help but still look between paxton concordas and the pokemon around them, they were truly amazing specimen and he couldn't wait to learn more. "Please Officer Concordas. Feel free to just call me Caelum." He'd enthusiastically but firmly shake Paxton's hand. The glow in his eyes never fading for a second. "The pleasure of meeting you is all mine!" And it really was! This was the first time he was interacting with someone that could further his research.[break][break]

This was about to be a whole new experience for Caelum, the only pokemon he had ever had a ride on was his own Charizard. He had worked with Pyroars before though, he was pretty sure he even had a scar from a Pyroar somewhere on his body. He often preferred to work with pokemon in the wild so he had plenty of marks to remind himself what they are capable of.[break][break]

"I'll take this one, that should be fine." Caelum would say moving towards Simba. Extending his hand towards the feline like pokemon, allowing it to get used to his scent before he'd scratch it under it's chin. "I think I'm ready." He'd say as he saddled up into the Pyroar.[break][break]

Now, this is the new part for Caelum, he was also fairly excited for this new experience. As they began moving as a pack, Caelum would try his best to hold on and keep himself intact as they twisted and turned through the hiking trails of Mt Chimney. The sway of the body had been the biggest challenge for Caelum to figure out, once he had figured out the pattern it became much easier. The two would follow Josh Devlin till they came upon their destination.[break][break]
