His Rampardos seemed furious at the way Freddy had chosen to brag about his takedown count. Almost as if a fire had been ignited within, the dinosaur like pokemon made a stampede towards its own horde of Digletts. With its use of Ancient Power in an attempt to wipe them out in swarms, the ground shook a bit. Sven attempted to steady his feet despite the distance that Zircon had made. Eyes went wide the moment he saw cave begin to cave in a bit. Perhaps the two had gotten a little out of hand with the competition, particularly his own.

"Alright that's enough, I'm calling it!"

With five of the Digletts down, his Rampardos gave a gruff sound to show that it was displeased with the sudden halt. While it stomped through, it used Headbutt to smash through any of the falling rocks to clear its path. It roared at its trainer to show that it wasn't happy with losing. Sven frowned a bit at the Rampardos before he reached up and gave it a firm pat on its shoulder.

"Guess this makes Freddy the winner since this one doesn't know how to take losing well," he laughed nervously. "But if you're looking for someone to help with your search, I can make some free time cause I'm interested to know what makes you hypothesize that the folks that resided here were the original avatars."

Maybe it was because it fell in with his own research as far as the effects of avatarship affected people, but Sven seemed pretty gung-ho to look into the archivist's search and help out where he could.

While it took them plenty of time, it seemed they finally finished with the attic. Sven made sure to scoop the dust he'd swept up into a garbage bag. As he turned back to take a better look, he gave a nod of approval. It looked a lot better than it had been, and he figured with the dust cleared out, Axel could breathe a little easier both literally and figuratively. Hopefully his sister would be satisfied with the work. Though with all the work they put in, Sven definitely felt the need to go take a shower. Not that he'd do it here, he'd feel much better in the comfort of his own apartment.

Though the sweat that coated him from head to toe didn't stop him when he walked over and offered Axel a high five. Whether or not the teen accepted it was up in the air, but Sven was pleased with the work they poured in. While cleaning certainly had never been his forte, he felt that he certainly did a decent job.

"Alright! With this outta the way, anything else you think we should do? Or are you ready to call it a day, man?"

A serious question on his part. If Axel was ready to call it a day, then maybe they could wrap it up and see if he needed him to swing by another day for more cleaning. For now, Sven took to gathering the supplies they'd used so he could help Absalom take them downstairs and let his pokemon take a break. Mirage had been a major help, but he figured that while he was still around, he could take over a bit.

As Melody reasoned her own view on Team Rocket, Sven took the opportunity to have a sip of his latte. Ice rattled around as he placed the drink back down and took the opportunity to absorb her own views. It seemed they shared a similar train of thought; she was right to say that Team Rocket was selfish. Though he didn't allow her surprise to his prior words go without saying. Sven folded his hands carefully before himself and spoke at an even tone to reassure her of his own research.

"I try to keep my ears to the ground when it comes to legendary pokemon, the Swords of Justice are no exception. I wouldn't say I'm interested in them particularly, but I am interested in the potential they have," he rambled. "So please don't think you have any competition in regards to garnering Cobalion's favor. But if I may be so bold, I'd like to do what I can to help you achieve that goal of reaching out to it."

Sven flashed a polite smile. If there posed any opportunity to learn more about Hoenn's draw for calamity and bigger draw for legendaries outside of its own region, he'd remain tenacious in his approach. Despite the polite approach, a sense of determination sparkled in his eyes. He hardly knew anything about Melody past her name, but here he figured that a loose partnership would be beneficial for the both of them -- as an elite four member, it was safe to assume she knew plenty about the strange occurences that surrounded Hoenn. As for him, he didn't offer much but an eagerness to help someone else achieve their goals.

"I don't expect an answer right out the gate but think about it at least, yeah? This poses an opportunity for research on my part, and offers you a plus one for your search into what I can only assume will be a dangerous journey. I know we don't know each other well enough to really jump into something so carelessly, but I have a good feeling about this, and I like to run with my instincts."

Instinct was quite strong with Sven. When he had a gut feeling, he went for it. Maybe he was just hyped up to see what the future had in store, but he was getting ahead of himself here. With that realization, Sven settled down in his seat a bit and took another piece of his blueberry muffin.

Much like a dive bomber, the Ledyba swooped in with a Mach Punch to his unsuspecting Fuecoco. While it tanked the hit, the fire croc latched onto the bug's bulbous fist and flipped itself onto the Ledyba's back. The sudden move caused the Ledyba to lose its balance in the air and sent the two downward. Before impact, Fuecoco had leaped off of the bug and landed before Sven's feet. Though the impact had been enough to stun the ladybug like pokemon, it seemed that Chomper wasn't quite done.

"Show it what we can do! Incinerate!"

The Fuecoco began to pick up speed to charge its inner fire. After it crashed into the Ledyba, it opened its maw and set the wild pokemon alight with its use of Incinerate. While the flame didn't last long, it was enough to make the Ledyba flee in a desperate rush. While they typically didn't care to bring harm to wild pokemon, it came as a kneejerk reaction in that moment. In the aftermath, he did feel a little guilty. But at least the Ledyba could recover on its own time.

"You're ok, right Chomper?" he asked as he knelt down to stroke the top of the Fuecoco's head.

The croc could only open its maw wide and offer a chittering sound to show it was more than alright. It seemed eager to see what else remained in their little venture.

Oh no, the Cleffa was enough to melt his heart. Starlight had a certain charisma to her that left the scientist 'aww'ing and wanting more of the animated fairy-type. While the Cleffa had cuteness to its persona, his Rampardos had plenty of tough factor to itself. He reached up and gave the dinosaur's maw a playful pat. Though the offer of rock candy certainly didn't go overlooked as his expression lit up and perused the box. They were all the same when it came down to it -- nothing but sugar -- but he liked to think the colors signified a differing one. Blue was his favorite and always would be. Once he took it and nibbled at the candy, the familiar taste of cotton candy coated his tongue. He hadn't had rock candy in forever but it still offered that touch of nostalgia.

"Thanks!" he complimented. "As far as excavating goes, let's start towards the opening and slowly work our way in. We don't want to risk a cave-in. I don't think your rock candy supply will hold on for long if that's the case."

A morbid joke, but a joke nonetheless. Sven lead the party forward and grabbed a hardhat from one of the nearby stations before he fastened it on. While he hated the helmet hair he'd no doubt end up with, he knew safety always came first. Rampardos' head was strong enough to withstand whatever came its way, but he didn't hesitate one bit to find something small for the Cleffa and one for Desiree. Once he returned, he offered the helmets out to the pair and flashed a thumbs up at the Doublade. Given the creature didn't exactly have a head, it seemed pointless to find it a helmet too.

Tools were located within the caves, and Sven was quick to snatch up a pickaxe and a chisel and hammer set. He figured the first would be better for Desiree to swing about and would save her fingers the trouble of being smacked with a hammer. He knelt down and carefully began to chip at some of the rock a bit further in from the entrance. While he was sure that plenty of folks had dug through before, he decided it best to let no stone, proverbial or otherwise, left unturned.

"Think we can find something Starlight might like? She seems pretty pumped!" he beamed. "Any particular crystals we're searching for? Or will any do?"

It was only natural he asked for specifics. He figured gem hunt meant something broad, but he knew Cleffa had a preference for certain types.

DESIREE BLOOMS

With yet another in the Safari's lineup dealt with, Sven ducked down and grabbed the pokeball. But before he could bag it, a looming Clamperl caught him with a quick spritz to the face with Water Gun. Sven dropped the safari ball, which let the Galarian Zigzagoon loose. With little to no control, the rabbit raccoon launched itself at the Clamperl in a Take Down in an attempt to take on the Clamperl.

"Wait!"

Given its new addition to the team, the Zigzagoon didn't listen to him quite yet. Once more, it launched itself at the Clamperl and injured itself in the process. But as it wiped out the unsuspecting clam, the Zigzagoon began to take some damage of its own. With its own stamina depleted a fair chunk, Sven knelt down and gave the Zigzagoon a gentle stroke to reassure it that it could calm down.

"If we're going to make this work, you need to listen. For now, I'm gonna draw you back and let you rest up. You're quite a spitfire, aren't you? I think that's what I'm gonna call you."

He grinned as the Zigzagoon yipped excitedly at the thought of a nickname. Now dubbed Spitfire, he drew the new addition back in and allowed it opportunity to rest. He did the same with Sprig and allowed the Snivy some time to rest. It had held up well and deserved a break. For now, he opted to let Chomper some time to shine. The Fuecoco gave a loud yawn and stretched its arms before it turned around to give Sven's leg a hug.

"It's been a while hasn't it? Let's explore a bit!"

With the Wishiwashi secure, Sven picked up the safari ball and readied himself to tred further into the Safari Zone. Though when he heard the quick pitter patter of feet, his ears pricked and forced him to turn around. Before he could properly counter, the Zigzagoon had used Take Down on his Snivy. While the pokemon staggered back, it stood firm once again and readied an attack. The small raccoon like creature seemed far too speedy to focus a singular attack on.

"Alright, Sprig, use Leaf Storm so we can try to get this thing from all angles!"

The Snivy summoned forth a spiral of leaves that overwhelmed the Zigzagoon. While the attack began to lacerate at the pokemon, Sven drew back another ball and sent it flying at the creature. If he could snag it, that would offer a speedy creature to his team. Besides, its interesting color certainly caught his eye. Once the ball made contact, his Snivy ceased its attack as not to disturb the safari ball itself.

Poor Saskia looked absolutely drained. Maybe that's why he let her swipe the bagel bite out of his hand. Though it did earn a laugh from the dj. He could understand her desire for Grim to just be a good boy, because who didn't want to pet a dog pokemon? It was a little difficult when the pokemon wouldn't let anyone do that, however. With her question offered, Sven pulled out his phone and checked his schedule. Nothing too important popped out at him. Even so, he was quick to offer a cheesy line to the brunette.

"Well you know, there's nothing more important in my schedule than you, so I'm free whenever if it means getting the little guy some training in."

His words were cut off with a loud yawn. Maybe it was time for the two to call it a night. Sven stood up and stretched a bit before he began to pick up after the two of them. Once the living room was clean enough, Sven grabbed a pillow and blanket before he rubbed at his eyes. He wasn't anything if he wasn't hospitable.

"You know the rules. Since you're the guest, you get my bed. I'll take the couch."

His Sprigatitos paced around the foot of the couch as if waiting for Saskia to get up and lead them back. Seemed Ditto was the only pokemon that chose to stay with him, not that he minded.

With the Cyclizar caught, Sven rushed to pick up the ball. He seemed utterly chuffed with his catch and placed the ball into his pouch. It wasn't long until he turned back to Zain and gave a nod in understanding. He supposed he got where the psychologist was coming from. It was important to branch off and become your own person. But there was always that hope that parents had to live vicariously through their children -- thankfully Sven didn't have any of that to deal with. Most of his own anxieties stemmed from separation.

"Do they know now?" he asked. "Y'know, that you became a psychologist?"

An innocent question to offer. It was hard to determine what his parents thought of it. Psychology was often written off in the matter that older generations insisted that younger generations just had to 'get over it.' Whatever 'it' was. But there were some issues out there that needed unraveled with the help of another. His foot bumps the Rattata that lept out, and he flashed the rat a look of apology before he dug through his bag for some granola to share with it. He didn't have any need for a Rattata so he figured he'd pass this go-around.

The Wishiwashi that surfaced was enough to surprise the poor Snivy that sniffed around the pond. It lurched back before it launched its vines out to attack. They were quick to wrap tight around the Wishiwashi's body and yank it out of the waters. Sven shouted for a moment for the Snivy to release it, but his words were drowned out by the Wishiwashi's Schooling. Snivy was forced to let go, but the damage had already been done. He didn't want to leave the poor injured water type in the wild without some form of treatment, so he was forced to catch the fish. Sven wound up the shot and threw a safari ball at the Wishiwashi.

"Hey, next time wait until my orders, ok?" he sighed. "I'm not mad, we just don't want to ruin the ecosystem of this place with senseless violence."

The Snivy gave a sound that seemed saddened over the fact it managed to displease its trainer. Sven sighed before he reached down and gave Sprig an encouraging pat on the head. That was enough to make the Snivy perk up a bit. He couldn't be mad at it for long, the creature was kind of cute. Given its new addition to his team, Sven wanted to train it a bit more.

"You just have to trust me, alright? I promise I won't try to get you hurt."
