The Braviary let out a surprised squawking noise the moment—the absolute insane moment the Lucario had Mega-evolved while they were on the way back—

“Careful!” he would yell; but he knew it would take an extremely insane miracle for him to dodge an Aura Sphere because that particular attack was like a heat-seeking missile once it was deployed!

“I already told you to keep your head on straight!” he hollered from his side of the field as the attack went careening towards the shiny avian…

As the two crossed claws (or paws and feathers), the Braviary let out a squawk of surprise as the Close Combat attack connected; however he knew that this wasn’t over yet! It wasn’t!

The blue-plumed avian attempted to grab the Lucario and drag them into the air with a surprise Sky Drop attack; hopefully they would be able to close the distance with this attack!

“Come on, Kyouya!” he cheered his Braviary on from his side of the field.

Thankfully the first attack would connect; however that would seemingly be the end of his good luck streak as the Tauros then rounded on their hooves, before literally lowering their head and catching the Braviary by surprise on the horns and getting hit in the process—

The loud, painful squawk of pain made him cringe; however he held firm.

“Stand strong!” he called towards his Braviary, who would then attempt to retaliate with a Rock Slide attack!

…even if he knew that the Tauros’s latest attack had struck true.

So it was going to be the same ol’ gig again—him coming out extremely late to the Dragon Shrine for the yearly pilgrimage.

While the last time he’d brought Tornadus along, this time though… he would have to keep Kaguya in her Moon Ball because…

Have you seen a full-size Celesteela trying to jam its way into a place only big enough for reasonably-sized Pokémon?! He didn’t want to destroy the shrine, at any rate!

While the keeper of the shrine had asked him where his Pokémon companion was, him fishing out the Moon Ball and tilting his head at it before saying a few hushed words in exchange (‘I have a very large Pokémon companion with me,’) were enough to let him through; down, down, down the stone steps and towards the very same bell.

What would he be wishing for this year?

The same as always—

To survive.

And hopefully help other people survive, too, all things considered as he reached for the rope and rang the bell.

(And for the courage to have the guts to actually propose to his partner, no matter how chicken he was!)

He could only blink at the other’s reaction, before shrugging his shoulders.

Although, he couldn’t help but hide a laugh a little as he climbed up on the stage to pick up his Braviary so they could go to the next match.

“Yeah…” he continued as he went down the stage towards one of the officials who were standing by the arena, “…dunno what’s up with him, but you might want to put a cap on his noise,” before quietly sweeping away.

Okay, so that little show of getting ready wasn’t going to cow the Lucario in the slightest…

Time to bring the fight to them, as they would say—

“Kyouya, I know you can do this, don’t get lost in the clouds again!”

(Because the last few times that happened, he’d been cleanly swept which resulted in them losing!)

Squawking, the blue-plumed avian Pokémon then prepped himself before getting ready to fly low—like almost to the ground low—before suddenly coming up for a surprise Aerial Ace attack on the Lucario!

He was at the very least, hoping to catch the other dual-type off-guard.

“Thanks for letting me know!” he was able to blurt out before the bell rang and their match got started—even the Braviary was raring to go, all things considered.

Staring down the incoming black-colored Tauros, the avian Pokémon would then attempt to meet them in the middle with an Aerial Ace attack, because holy shit those horns looked sharp—and could gore an eye out if given the chance!

He couldn’t resist the clapback.

“Do you hear me complaining about your Charizard’s Flamethrower?” he sassed back. Two could definitely play that game!

And the Braviary was entirely unamused as well; all things considered. Braving the flames that were heading his way, he would then fly low, so low it almost looked like a Brave Bird attack—however it was actually an Aerial Ace attack that the Charizard would get a faceful of as the avian Pokémon pulled up from the low-altitude flying!

He couldn’t believe it.

With the sheer magnitude of chaos going on, and this crack in reality just… manifesting all of a sudden, he realized—

Everyone, not just himself, was way in over their heads in this region! Though he couldn’t remember if the new Pokémon that appeared was the same as the one that undid the damage back in—wow, so much had really happened, huh?

He looked over to the Tornadus, hovering beside him—seemingly unnoticed in all this chaos.

“I know you don’t want to fight as much as I do… shall we start helping haul people back and set up a healing area somewhere?” he continued in that same quiet voice; to which his companion nodded, arms crossed over their purple-and-white body.

Off they went, through the running, the yelling, the screaming—him hauling along a few unfortunate souls who were in desperate need of healing—away from the front lines; towards a location safer than most before he realized he was wearing an ear piece.

“Miss Elise, if you can hear me—I’m not on the main battle field anymore! Find the Stormbringer, you’ll see me—have Minerva scout my location from the skies if you have to—and bring back the injured, the wounded, be they human or Pokémon alike. If you can find Guillermo Marceliño, please haul him back here too. Let’s help patch everyone back up!”

He then tapped said ear piece again, before repeating most of what he said minus Tornadus to anyone and everyone on the League comms channels—and to have anyone injured or in need of healing to get away from the front lines and receive treatment!

Size difference aside, he was surprised the Braviary had managed to lift the Charizard into the air before bringing them crashing back down to the ground in a show of anger—

Yeah, that was one Braviary you did not want to get on the bad side of, especially considering how the avian Pokémon loved taking care of his blue feathers.

Uh-oh!

Cawing his disgust, the Braviary then brought down a second avalanche of boulders in the form of a Rock Slide!
