It sounded like something hitting a wall, at least from where he stood. He then squinted into the pervading gloom, before seeing the Sableye hold up both his stubby arms; as if telling him to wait for him there.

“O-okay,” he breathed out as the Sableye sunk into the thickening darkness; the better to scout up ahead…

It wouldn’t take too long for the other to eventually emerge at a vantage point very close to where Memo was sleepwalking, and the Sableye’s mouth flipped upside-down in alarm—what was making the other human move like that?

Wakey-wakey, Memo!

The Sableye then tried to clap the other man awake by using Fake Out on him!

“See, that’s the thing… you’ve been keeping your money to yourself, you haven’t bought anything for yourself asides from what we’re about to get… not even if I cover at least half of yours, you’re not going to budge, aren’t you?”

The line he drew his mouth into thinned the more his partner refused to budge.

“L-look…”

The Braviary let out a quiet squawking noise before plucking an annoying feather that had been bothering him. “He’s not going to eat her, I-I swear.”

There were also other papers that covered future plans regarding what else could be done in Fortree for the year ahead…

The moment Memo hit a particular nerve in his hand, though, he let out this arrested noise that was halfway between a squeak of surprise and a very relaxed purring noise.

“Oh, fuck, that feels good,” he hissed as he felt his eyes close while he rested against the table. “C-can you go back and get that knot… out?”

“Kinda sucks that there are people who’re allergic to like, eggs. Or chocolate. Imagine being allergic to fucking chocolate, how do you even live if you have that kind of an allergy?!”

He then hummed as he picked through some of the candies and began sorting it too—unknowingly sorting it between two piles as well; piles of the ones he’d eat, and piles of his partner’s favorites.

“Isn’t it time we caught up to all of that, then?” he mused quietly with this smile on his face.

In fact he was actually poring over a piece of paper that had scribbles on it—for the first time in a very long time, there was going to be a new addition placed around the Sanctuary area…

Specifically, it involved digging out a little enclosed ‘hot spring’ area because…

Holy shit where was he going to put that flaming spider to good use?!

(For starters, the Heatran was way too hot to leave running around the Sanctuary grounds, so where was he going to hide it… until his partner Guillermo Marceliño had come up with the brilliant suggestion of putting said ‘hot spring’ somewhere on the grounds.)
