The dank cave was a welcome departure from the sunny shores of Dewford Town. It even had the added bonus of bringing Vic a sense of both peace and unease -- the dark cave reminded him of the one near his house, the very one that his parents had warned him not to enter. Nostalgia and anxiety warred within his stomach as his fingers wrapped around his trusty partner's pokeball.

To have his Pangoro at his side near immediately cancelled out the anxiety rapidly developing in the pit of his stomach. He was to meet an adventurer here to help guide him through the cave but he must have gotten here early. Vic would wait -- the last time he entered a dark, spooky cave by himself, he didn't see daylight again until two days later.

Hoenn was supposed to be a clean break for Vic when he left everything behind, including his contacts from the Johto branch. He made a promise to his late friend that he would keep himself out of trouble but whether or not he can keep that promise remains to be seen. Vic never anticipated that Team Rocket’s presence in Hoenn was stronger than in Johto and though he hopes that he can resist any bad influences that could float into his life, his past could very well come back to haunt him. Or even worse: Vic could get dragged down into his old criminal habits.

It doesn’t help that Vic looks like a thug. Even after his release from prison, Vic has struggled with law enforcement profiling him simply for his looks and demeanor. He has received a number of visits from law enforcement to Zinnia under suspicion that his inconspicuous flower shop could be involved with illicit activities such drug manufacturing or smuggling. Thus far he has managed to evade the authorities and keep his record clean while in Hoenn, but it doesn’t help that his record is forever stained by his activities in Johto.

Vic’s romantic history has been turbulent to say the least. The person who introduced him to Team Rocket, and who Vic thought would be his ride-or-die, was the very one who betrayed him to law enforcement and threw him under the proverbial bus. His childhood crush and dearest friend, Fiore Sauveterre, had her life tragically cut short by disease and passed while Vic was still in prison. Since then he has largely kept to himself, still healing from the toxic wounds still left by his first relationship.
