Okay. Okay! Three Safari Balls down, and only one left. Heck... She REALLY had to be selective now. She couldn't just go throwing her last Safari Ball all willy nilly. From here on out, any Pokemon she encountered would have to pass her rigorous criteria before she'd even consider catching it. If they didn't score AT LEAST a B in fields such as Cuteness, Helpfulness, and Rarity, then sorry, but they wouldn't make the cut!

With that in mind, Mitsuru reached to grab her last Safari Ball, unclipping it from her belt--

--Only for it slip out from her fingers, tumble down the hillside, and hit an unsuspecting Lileep. There wasn't even so much as a wriggle, no. Instead, there was an immediate, loud click - A critical capture.

"W-wait, but...!"

Too late. The klaxon sounded out, signalling that her time in the Safari Zone was over. So, letting out a disappointed sigh, Mitsuru trudged down the hill to reclaim her unwanted Lileep, before making her way back towards the exit.

Stashing the newly-caught Mienfoo into her handbag, Mitsuru let out an audible hmm as she pondered her circumstances. Only two Safari Balls left, huh? And she'd only encountered two Pokemon, too. Maybe it was time to start showing some restraint? At this rate, she could only run into two more Pokemon before she had to wrap it up and go home. She'd barely even been here for ten minutes, for pete's sake! So, time to pump the brakes, and--

"Varoom."

--Holy HECK, a Varoom?! She'd watched a documentary about these things. Some young entrepeneurs were putting them in vans to help power them. Could you imagine that? Being able to drive around for hours and hours, and all it cost was a few Pokedollars of food, and not hundreds of Pokedollars worth of gas? What a gamechanger...

With Fletch in Ling, Mitsuru moved onwards and... Well, not upwards. The path ahead was mostly flat, if a little bumpy, so... Sidewards? Uh... Well... The same wards she was currently on, but forward. Yeah, sure, close enough!

And it didn't take long for her to encounter the next Pokemon upon the trail - A wandering monk, meditating in the middle of a road. Huh. Weird place to meditate. The mystic had always thought that the best places to zen out were on high mountains and underneath waterfalls. Then again, she'd never actually meditated before, so what did she know?

She almost felt a little bad, catching the Mienfoo, interrupting its peace. But, Fighting types were good at lifting heavy weights, weren't they? That though alone, and the thought of how much physical effort she could save by having an extra pair of strong paws around, was enough to be rid of any guilt.

So, aiming her shot and tossing with a hup! Mitsuru threw her second Safari Ball at the Mienfoo.

Next is Varoom!

Lucky for her, the ethereal stranger greets her awkwardness with a smile. That was good! It helps put her nerves at ease, if only a bit. Though, "a bit" didn't count for much when they were already ratcheted so high to begin with. Maybe she was irrational. Maybe it was stress. Maybe she just needed to calm down. But standing in here, surrounded by the hustle and bustle, she just couldn't shake the feeling she was being... Hunted, somehow.

Unwelcome memories of draining warmth and encroaching darkness peek out from her memories. A shiver of deja vu runs up her spine. She tries her best to sweep it under the rug.

It helps when she's caught off-guard a moment later.

"A drink? Um..." She blinks. Really? Wasn't that a little...? No, no, she was just being weird about it. What else were they supposed to do at a casino, of all places? Gamble, when she's broke and he's out of luck? Get dinner, which would be even more "..."? No, a drink was very fine and very normal. "...Okay, yeah, sure!"

As she begins to long shuffle through the crowd and to the bar, she silently prays that the Casino Starlight isn't one of those types of places that charges a fee for tap water...

What did it mean if someone believed in past lives?

"Hm..."

Mitsuru took a moment to ponder that question.

Her first thought was that it simply meant what it meant: That Yuina DID believe in past lives. That wasn't particularly strange. She'd heard about some religious sects back in Johto that were big into reincarnation, a never-ending cycle of life, death, and rebirth. But it couldn't be that easy, could it? No, if she was going through the effort of seeking out "professional" help, then it couldn't be as simple as that. She had to dig deeper.

So came her secound, more daring thought: Did Yuina have some connection to the past, maybe? Like an ancestor whose legacy she kept accidentally stumbling upon? She'd heard about something like that before! Where was it...? C'mon, think...! Oh. Right. She saw it on television. In that new show, where the boy has the Donphan, and the girl has the Volcarona, and they travel through time. Mitsuru really liked that one, too! At least, she liked the episode she was. She really should watch more of it.What was it called again...? Um, a-anyway, it probably wasn't that one, then... Heck...!

So, finally, she came upon her third, spiciest option.

"Miss Higashi, do you have many strange dreams?"

Mitsuru took a moment to examine the Fletchling as it hopped about the ground, craning its head and pecking the dirt. Looking to catch the Wurmple, no doubt! Though, it wasn't exactly an early bird, was it? After all, it was already 3PM...

Pulling out one of her Safari Balls from her handbag, she took a moment to line up her throw, before flinging it straight towards the unassuming bird.

Only to miss entirely and roll away.

Oh... Well, good thing she brought more than one!

She missed again.

Um... Third time's the charm?

Yes, yes it was!

Filled with a little bit of pride and a large amount of embarrassment, she hurried over to collect her Pokeballs, both full and empty alike.

Why was Mitsuru back in the safari so soon after her last trip?

Because there wasn't much else she could do. Not that it was bad, mind! She'd just rather be taking some kind of spa day, or having a girl's night out, or something to that effect. Alas, she was broke and she didn't have many friends, so those were both off the table. So, here she was, taking a reprieve from the stress and woe of her daily life, on a budget, alone...

She was making this sound REALLY depressing, huh? A-anyway! Time to get catching!
