priam picks up a coin.

"it's trying to give me enough of this so i can sell it for actual cash."

he tosses it up in the air before snatching it during its fall. priam then pockets it and takes out his bag, opening it up and starting to collect all the nearby coins in his vicinity.

the espeon continues to spray coins with pay day at the frog after killing its clones. the froakie is next.

another pay day is fired, spraying it around to hit each copy of double team with coins, filling the area with golden pebbles.

all things considered, priam would've eaten it still. he wasn't a councilwoman with black lace underneath her button-up shirt filled with envy after all.

before he can explain it, a jet of water was already pushing the espeon back. it manages to get back to its feet, and retaliating with a large spray of coins.

"heh. i already won."

pay day did help priam a lot, especially since winnings aren't monetized.

a bug-type against a psychic-type was bad, but it was also a poison-type. it's an even matchup, albeit volatile, but priam isn't here to do the math on the match.

he'd rather do the math on something else.

"let me show you my real strat! pay day!"

the espeon gets struck by the beedrill, but before it can fly away, a barrage of coins start to shower the insect, peppering it with loads of solid objects.

"nah, i'm doing things my way," he had responded to Michael Navidson before he went on. "we don't wanna cramp each other's style, y'know."

he runs off to a different direction later, offering an apologetic nod to Camellia Lemaitre when he passes her over, and turns to a dead end on the chasm.

a paradox pokemon confronts him. it's blue, which is his favorite color, and unlike earlier encounters, it squared them up to a point where hit-and-run wouldn't cut it without serious risks.

"well, we're doing this, bravy."

a ball is ready on his hand, ready to catch the iron crown once their fight happens.

tl;dr

goes solo
braviary fights an iron crown
priam happily catches a paradox pokemon, oblivious to what was happening elsewhere

the spins from the cyclizar was enough to keep strong winds at bay. dust and dirt with the sand keep visibility low as they float in the air, but it was enough to kill the winds' velocity.

"i'm the type of person to keep promises," he reminds navy. the promise was months old already by the time it got fulfilled, but he still remembered. "ya really think i'm the type to do that?"

then again, he still was a member of a terrorist organization.

the gabite remains unfound by the cyclizar. nothing remains on their side of the field, besides maybe holes dug on the ground that could trip the speeding lizard from high speed.

"priam conrad is a man of honor, i'll tell ya that! a rare breed in this day and age, i know, but what can i say? i'm an exceptional human being."

he continues to talk, unable to see what was happening due to his own sandstorm, but if he's getting responses from the gym leader, it meant that the gym leader wasn't giving instructions as well.

his espeon doesn't seem to be as confident as his trainer, and priam feels it through the connection between them that the sygna suit provides. it wouldn't be enough to put a damper on the trainer, however.

they take the field, ready to start the match whenever.

"i'll have ya know i have a secret strat cooking where it's a guaranteed win for me. believe it!"

the espeon believes it this time, albeit because his trainer was delusional enough to find a reason to consider anything a win.

"hiya!" he greets the captain. "nice to meet you! i'm priam, but feel free to call me blue. that's what my colleagues call me anyways and it kinda grew on me."

the sygna suit of his activates when his espeon comes out. the trainer, both in personality and style, doesn't seem to compliment an espeon's regal and lithe appearance, but one look is all it takes to see how comfortable both are with each other.

the psychic-type rubs itself against priam's legs before taking field. the match was about to start, and the pokemon knows its job for vital city tournament.

"i've been cultivating this special strat. hope ya let me test in today."

everyone is here to fight and priam is no different. some do it with rage against the force of nature thrown upon them by hoopa and kyurem. others do it to survive. priam? he's here to do it to show off his pokemon.

it was, indeed, priaming time.

with one hand holding onto the braviary for priam's dear life, the other points to a cluster of paradox pokemon.

a hurricane starts in the bottom of the chasm, blowing away some of them to other people and indirectly delivering more of them to those that wanted to brawl.

he could listen to the comms, but a lot of instructions muddled each other from voices overlapping and made more chaos than what they have on the battlefield.

tl;dr

fights down the chasm
braviary uses hurricane to blow the paradox pokemon to people
can't understand comms bc of chaos

hoppa upped the tempo, and priam matches it with the change of partner.

"let's go, bravie!"

he steers his pokemon down, where hordes of new paradox pokemon suddenly appeared.

clinging on to his dear life, the braviary dives down with shadow sneak, bringing priam along with him. they appear, blowing away any that have lingered where they have descended.

"it's priaming time!"

he knows him more than any other, and he knows what the influence of rocket does to the best of the best from experience.

priam waves from his back as he leaves, saying no more words to the rocket beast further. any more will just result to one thing, and he has spent enough time with him to know that nothing else will fix the situation at the moment.

there are no childish spiels. there are no tantrums that would have been expected from priam where he argues that he was always right. confusion with his inner turmoil has brought priam to check out from his persona.

i told you not to go too deep into rocket, bry.

despite trying to push the blame onto the other, priam can't help the sense of guilt from leaving. it was good for him, but the descent for bryan won't slow down now.

he was a rocket. he shouldn't feel bad for being selfish once in a while.

he flinches at the statement from the underboss, but he recovers quickly, not wanting to show the hesitance.

"you better!" he proclaims. "i've been so nice in giving everyone the spotlight that i got hungry for my time to shine!"

the tunnel they dug out eventually reaches an open packet, the wall crumbling easily with the gabite's touch to show part of the excavation site that hasn't been getting attention.

that was what the map led them to, after all.

"wouldja look at that! we've arrived at the destination safe and sound, thanks to yours truly."

he was about to brag to parker that he doesn't sext and all he does is pure, unadulterated face-to-face flirting that was easy due to his immense charisma, but she manages to distract him with the follow up.

or perhaps he just chose the easy way out since there's no object to his affection now.

"does this mean we have blackmail material?" the smile on his face grows big. "do you think we can get something out of it?"

he already has the answer, but he feigns ignorance for the sake of the conversation.

"can we even extort anything from her? flowers, maybe? i'unno."

praised, priam acts more proud than he should be, but the bashful expression on his face cannot be hidden by loud and grand gestures that were supposed to play up his persona.

it hasn't been used for a while, and maintenance was so low that it can be called self-sufficient, that he wonders how the site must've been. another reason to visit it would be nice.
