Fenelle quickly signs Sorry upon seeing Nikola's startled reaction with an apologetic expression, which is also transmitted by der Rotom a second later, "Sorry." Then, dee seems to look satisfied upon having found the correct person and continues signing, "I have heard you were researching avatars, and wanted to ask if I could ask about your progress there. I recently ... faced off against Council woman Livy and could maybe provide some information, too," Fenelle adds, even if it carries the bitter taste of defeat. A necessary evil to come out victorious should there ever be a next time ... dee isn't even sure if Livy would remember dem or not. But hey, maybe even better ...

However, that conversation is also swiftly interrupted. Fenelle doesn't notice anything, only sees Nikola's startled reaction directed at something behind dem-

"I'm afraid I wasn't that, no," Fenelle replies honestly. Without hesitation, dee walks towards the door, sees if there's anything ... but in the now dark hallway, there's only the currently emerald coloured glow of der Rotom tablet.

Save me ... it displays.

Quickly, Fenelle turns around. "Did you- speak?" Der head whips around to the Rotom, too, who seems confused as well. "Whose voice was that?" If Nikola even had heard anything at all, or if der ghost has heard someone's whispers ...

NIKOLA SAMSA

There's a bit of anticipation as Fenelle sees a shiny Rotom approach the pokéball - but unfortunately, this one already has a trainer and wouldn't catch itself with Fenelle's pokéball. Dee nods at the trainer after Poryphone translated his words on its screen. Der signed words would be spoken and transcribed by the Porygon as well with a montone text-to-speech voice, "No worries at all. It's my mistake for having let it fall, too," dee says, leaning down to grab it again - however, a mischievous Simisear has come in between them!

Fenelle looks surprised, standing upright again, as the Simisear wants to dash away with the pokéball - but it's ... apparently, she has never seen a pokéball before. In her mad run away, she fiddles around with the ball a bit, and eventually ... ... captures herself? Fenelle did want the Rotom to do that, but ... dee supposes, the Simisear isn't a bad catch either. "Didn't expect a Simisear in the town to never have interacted with a pokéball before." Did it get amnesia through some kind of ritual or what's going on?

Fenelle's steps are filled with both excitement and caution as dee enters the lab where dee would meet Head Scientist Flint. A Rotom tablet floats around dem as well, but it's a nice thought that dee wouldn't need it for the upcoming meeting, as Lulu would have one at the ready as well.

Still, dee enters with the tablet as well, though the Rotom merely nods in respects and keeps in the background of the foreground (where Fenelle could still see it). Upon the briefing, the grunt almost seems to stand to attention a bit more upon hearing God General Harcourt's involvement. A flackering feeling of failure that dee pushes towards fueling der eagerness to succeed today.

However, surprise is clearly visible on Fenelle's face for a second as Lulu asks dem for the first approach, instead of dem falling immediately into an assistant role. However, der expression quickly turns pensive as dee thinks about it, before eventually starting to sign, "Has a scan of its physical properties been done yet? Seeing what kind of ports and connectors it might have, any indication what the shell and interior material might be. Do we have any cables made of Xurkitree? I think this Ultra beast might be the easiest kind capable of connecting and transmitting energy, so studying that could be quite useful if we do not have reports on it yet."

Dee ponders for a moment. "I do not know if our laws apply to Megalopolan technology and electricity as well, but I'd advise using a Faraday cage as well to protect and minimise harm to other technology."

Lulu Flint

Fenelle really would like Fuecoco out of the ball right now to have something warm to hold in a frigid landscape built on chilling ice. The room is a mess that dee does der best not to pay attention to, instead focusing on Admin Cross across the room behind a computer. Locked out of it, possibly, too, as the request makes itself known.

Dee carefully traverses the room as quickly as dee can to take a closer look at the computer - one that isn't really running at ideal temperature anymore, unless they'd want to run a supercomputer. A stray glance towards Admin Cross - would he be willing to try and help by being a cooling system ....... - that dee quickly retreats to look at the computer.

"Pardon the stupid sounding question, but did you try turning it on and off?" It's wild how many problems could be solved with a reboot. Der Porygon does signal, however, too, indicating that it has sensed the presence of the other Porygon inside.

"Ah, my Porygon has found the other Porygon in the database. It will go and assist now, so communication will be on-hold for a minute, written notes or via lipreading which can be a bit hard to parse." Dee does take out a notebook and a pencil as der phone blinks dark for a moment, before turning on again. A program is now running, too, following the Porygon's movement as it enters the computer's cyberspace and see what the other Porygon is up to.

As ever, while its movements are swift and practiced, there's also traces left behind, like a child running around with paint. They won't disturb anything; they're just signs of I was here.

The Battle of Sootopolis as well as the Battle of Mossdeep still linger on Fenelle's mind as dee is on the lookout in this new war zone - actually deployed in battle now, with occasional tasks still telling dem to help with rebuilding destroyed technological infrastructure.

Der Metagross is not deployed for a change - hasn't been in der active team since the first wave of battles that have heralded the beginnings of war. Instead, der Rotom in der smartwatch keeps an eye out, ready to alert with a small vibration, as well as der Bronzong floating nearby. Their psychic link is weak - the Bronzong is only here to feed Fenelle information, not the other way around.

There's a paranoia sinking into Fenelle that dee hasn't had time to process yet, with everything going on.

And now as well, dee focuses outwards, looking at the area with careful eyes.

It doesn't even need all the alarm systems and machinations to find a Leaguer, possibly also looking for trouble.

Their eyes lock as the world stills for a moment.

Fenelle follows Hitoshi's slight gaze towards the grunts playing chess, keeping it in the corner of der vision while focusing on Hitoshi then as he speaks again. As the situation is happening in the game, there's no telling if it won't also happen in reality - maybe similiar to a certain kind of simulation ...

Dee nods at his words, making mental notes of dem as dee feels demself ... calming, oddly enough. A boil coming to a freeze so you can estimate the bubbles from air pushing upwards, can examine the stir as the energies are frozen in place. "You can't become tunnel-visioned," dee summarises with a nod.

Hitoshi's gaze then is nothing that dee can fully read - it's not directed at dem, dee can tell that much, but dee isn't entirely sure what to make of the emotion else. Still, it's potent and inspiring in an odd way, and dee nods again. "One has to ... network with the right people. Keep an overview of the field and what's happening while preparing to strike. Don't underestimate when you're planning ahead, either."

Dee smirks faintly, "Suppose one could say it's not merely a battle, but always a war."

Fenelle nods with a thoughtful smile, before placing the caramel decoration from before on the farthest end of der tray for Kuro to snatch up if he'd like it - der mind, however, then wanders to the simulation once more and the speakable horrors within. Dee agrees with a nod, dee could probably talk to the professor - or scientist, rather, as Rocket doesn't really dabble with unnecessary titles that prove arbitrary testing - if ...

Dee grimaces and nods in agreement, "You never know what might be possessing that paw still." And still, dee would dabble into this field of unknown, asking and daring to test what is rather ill-advised ... "But it's a curiosity still, should I be ever so lucky, maybe ...," dee fully admits, before finishing up der pastries and seeing that indeed, time actually is over.

It's truly the most pleasant break dee has had in a while.

"I'll need to get back to work now, but see you around?"

Verdanturf is not yet under attack as Oldale and Rustboro are, which gives the scenery a tense, but still fairly calm vibe. Fenelle's on a break from der dispatchment nearby, having don civilian garbs once more with teal-turquoise-coloured hair that rarely ever gets sunlight these days, as it's covered in dark blue dye or a wig.

A much needed break, not necessarily for the ID and civilian persona itself, but more to surround demself with a little bit of silliness. All six of them fill the space around dem as they walk the streets. Maybe it'd be time to see about catching some pokémon, dee thinks and attempts a bit of contact juggling with an empty pokéball as dee walks, just to, damn-

The war is wearing Rocket down, but Fenelle also doesn't show any real signs of slowing down, either. It's effort that needs to be made - and effort that still grants some similtude of rest, even if Fenelle seeks to fill this with restless activity nonetheless. Dee's heard that there's a researcher particularly interested avatar powers and, perhaps, a potential within non-avatars ... the latter part pales in comparison with the mark dee has set on avatars ever since Mossdeep, Sootopolis.

This might even extend to legends as whole, frankly, as dee calms der mind of anger to enter the room.

Their entrances are never quite quiet, but the other still doesn't move, either. From the description, it should be the right person, however ... and in true autism fashion, dee starts signing an introduction for der Rotom tablet to translate into speech to maybe get the other's attention that way, before dee stops. "That's a mega stone, right?" the Rotom translates first then, as Fenelle further approaches - close enough to get a better look, before backing away again.

"You're Nikola Samsa, right?" dee then asks, remembering the purpose of der visit, "I'm Fenelle, Mille or just Fen." Words that probably don't ring any familiarity - unless Nikola followed the SPECTRA gauntlet, there's not too many remarkable achievements under der belt just yet.

Fenelle perks up, however, at the sight of a quite unusual Helioptile. It's unmistakenably a shiny one, with its unusually red coat ... definitely one that would do very well in der collection ... We'll take that one with us, dee signs at der Magnemite after calling it out of its ball, and it moves towards the Helioptile. It does, however, not immediately attack - and instead seem to actually chat, possibly about electricity.

It's almost an endearing sight, but Fenelle still cuts it short by throwing a pokéball when dee deems that they've talked enough, hoping that it'll just be caught.

Der patience is tested almost immediately by another trainer's Sawsbuck which, on one hand, quite serene and beautiful to regard, and on the other, extremely annoying. Only one brief moment of eye contact is enough for Fenelle to hightail it away from the arrogant pokémon, or else it might actually want to start a fight on account of not paying up because they breathe the same air ... it truly looked like the worst pokémon of the worst people Fenelle has met so far.

The words ring truth in Fenelle, a reality that hasn't hit yet with all the adrenaline pumping through der veins that seemingly still lingers in phantom form. But similiar to Hitoshi, even unrealised, there's a change that comes with these words, a feeling that pushes itself to the surface.

Yes, they did survive the face-off, with every odd tipped in their favour where it could.

Suppose they weren't so lucky.

Suppose that survival's ... not enough.

Dee survived the clash with the councilwoman, endured and even ran from the horrors of a nostalgia's depths and a malfunctioning supercomputer, touched by human emotion.

But dee doesn't want to just survive.

Fenelle nods with a grim determination, and vaguely remembers to release the tension that's built up in der body. "Only surviving isn't enough," dee agrees, "for victory ... or in general." Dee has just survived, and no. While it's better than being dead, certainly, it's ... just that.

At Hitoshi's question, Fenelle is quiet for a moment, but even then ... even with this powerful feeling of hatred running through der veins, the answer is ... simple. "As quick as possible ... when there's an opening, I'll take it. There's no need for more plays anymore." Dee supposes dee did have a sufficient play, orchestrating a whole pity show at the height of arrogance. It's tempting, surely, but for this end, only the end suffices.

"Is there a wrong answer?" dee then contemplates a heartbeat later. Is this already part of a test?
