Patiently waiting on her food, Daichi sips on her water as she looks around the establishment. Her red eyes stop to take in the composition of the floors, seating, any decorum they may have, the paint on the walls, the placements of the windows and even the lighting. And through it all, she could simply call the place..."quaint".

Once her food arrives, Daichi doesn't hold any formalities to begin eating aside from wiping her glasses with a cloth to remove some slight fogging caused from the freshly made, steaming hot meal. It was certainly a familiar dish to her, but something else about it caught her attention that she couldn't quite pin down. "Oh." She exclaims upon taking her first bite.

"The Battle Café in Castelia had this." She says with a tone of surprise. It was incredibly close, as well. It could have certainly been a coincidence, but some random Hoenn native replicating a dish like this while reading a cook book was slim to none. Contemplating how she could sate her curiosity, she finishes her food, and waves a waiter over.

"Can I talk to the chef, please?" she asks with a small smile, leaning into her hand as it props up against the table.

The Riolu happily obliges the Audino, still being rather young and happy to be held in their arms as Daichi watches with a small smile. As Thomas's voice calls to her, she turns her head to him, tilting her head back slightly as her green hair shifts along her back, and her glasses shimmer from the daylight. The voice was familiar...

Daichi raises a hand, and approaches Thomas with her soft smile before stopping a few feet in front of him. Awash with a sense of Deja Vu, Daichi takes off her glasses and squints at the man. Then it hit her...

"Agent Benoit! That's where that name's from!" She exclaims, slipping her glasses back onto her face. "I thought suited officials never left their position till they were kicked out, what are you doing in the middle of Nowhere-Hoenn? Oh, wait, sorry." Daichi says, digging into her bag to grab a well-worn case of old Unovan badges, opening it to show their classic thin designs. "You questioned me when I was in the gym circuit, when those goons attacked me. I was, what, like 14? I'm Daichi, if that rings any bells. I had the Excadrill back in the day."

Daichi looks over the green vibrant terrain that Verdanturf was very much so known for, it was part of it's namesake after all. In truth, Daichi was here for one reason, and one reason alone- to confirm a suspicion of hers'. While doing a routine check-up of her pokemon after a day of training, attempting to get back into the swing of things, a poster had caught her eye. An advertisement for a ranch that specialized in Audino, stating that they were an optimal partner for healing your pokemon... But a name on that poster caught Daichi's eye, and lingered within her mind.

Benoit...Benoit.... Something from when she was in the gym circuit in Unova, surely...but when was it? It had to have been a one-time thing, otherwise it wouldn't be so difficult to remember. And the name was....not exactly common. A relative of a trainer she battled, maybe?

As she draws closer to the ranch, she releases Luna, her Riolu, who happily begins running through the grass towards a gate, where it jumps up to hang over it to look inside. Daichi eventually catches up with her steady walk, and looks over the ranch herself, specifically looking for a human to wave to. . .

Daichi, ever the seeker of opportunity, had been looking out for the chance to meet a member of the gym circuit before officially beginning her route of badge collecting. She was, after all, efficient with the way she did things due to her underlying distaste for wasting time. And naturally, any time spent in this region was being wasted in her eyes...so the sooner she got in good with the gym leaders, the easier it would be to get the ball rolling. However...[break][break]

The closest thing she could manage was meeting with an ambassador from Galar, of all places. But as Daichi entered her office to get information on the gym circuit, and perhaps some tips as to her friend-leader's little weaknesses, she's met with the sight of a mess of an office. Juice boxes, spills, snacks smashed into the floor, and a plethora of crumbs...Being the neat freak she was, Daichi sighs.[break][break]

"Was this a tornado, or children? You know what, forget I asked, tornadoes are a bit more localized." She jokes, reaching for a pokeball in her coat to release Luna, her Riolu, who waves in cheer before a look of pure shock fills its face at the sight of the mess. "Don't act like you're clean or something." Daichi chides as she begins to help grabbing the physical trash first without needing so much as an apology for the mess, or a request for help.

When one finds themself in an island region surrounded by ocean, you can expect that most of the cuisine takes heavy influence from the bounty of the sea just within reach. For many this is a wonderful thing, but for the pallet of a foreigner of a mostly landlocked area, Daichi has been cursed with a lack of drive to eat seafood all the time. Naturally, walking through Lillycove in the afternoon about an hour after typical dinner-rush time, Daichi's hunger can no longer be ignored, and while resting in the poke-center to let her little companions have a check-up, a poster catches her eye... [break][break]

Daichi gathers her pokeballs, and makes way for the place on the poster she saw which advertised foreign food- Likely catering to locals who want something different, sure, but a slightly homesick Unovan can surely help themself, right?[break][break]

Daichi enters the Restaurant with an air of grace, brushing a few stray hands away from her face as a couple shuffles past her to leave, having finished their meal. Daichi gives a small hum as she sees that the majority of those inside are either already eating, or finishing up themselves. It seems that the greenette has arrived just at the tail end of when it was busy...[break][break]

The girl takes her seat, and waits patiently for an order taker, not bothering to even look at the menu. "I'm from Unova, tell the chef to surprise me with something from the big city of Castellia." She requests.

In her teen years, Daichi was an up-and-coming pokemon prodigy within the Unova Region, blazing throughout the Unova League with ease with rumors of her chances of becoming champion, or taking a gym leader position both being high. Unfortunately, skill does not always equate to passion. [break][break]

Despite her capabilities, Daichi had little interest in her ability to steamroll victories in the Unova league, instead finding interest in art. So, with eight gym badges all being stored away to gather dust, she stops pokemon battling entirely in order to pursue her wishes. Years go by, and Daichi gets accepted to a high-end art school within Unova, and through many struggles endures her first two years with passing marks. However, Complacency doesn't ensure happiness. Her father, having come to Unova from Hoenn, falls deathly ill. In between extended periods of medically induced comas, Daichi hears of her father's failed attempts at challenging the Hoenn League, and his regrets in never completing it back in his own day. He makes one selfish wish of his daughter- to complete the Hoenn League and use the fame to jumpstart her own career. [break][break]

Now, with her last remaining pokemon from her last gym circuit at her side and unwilling to listen to her due to the lack of battling for multiple years, and a handful of pokemon caught, or hatched from purchased eggs in preparation for her next challenge, Daichi arrives at the docks of Hoenn with a heavy heart, and a time limit. While her father expected himself to expire before Daichi completes his wish, the young woman has no such resignations of her ability to fulfil his dream.
