In her teen years, Daichi was an up-and-coming pokemon prodigy within the Unova Region, blazing throughout the Unova League with ease with rumors of her chances of becoming champion, or taking a gym leader position both being high. Unfortunately, skill does not always equate to passion. [break][break]

Despite her capabilities, Daichi had little interest in her ability to steamroll victories in the Unova league, instead finding interest in art. So, with eight gym badges all being stored away to gather dust, she stops pokemon battling entirely in order to pursue her wishes. Years go by, and Daichi gets accepted to a high-end art school within Unova, and through many struggles endures her first two years with passing marks. However, Complacency doesn't ensure happiness. Her father, having come to Unova from Hoenn, falls deathly ill. In between extended periods of medically induced comas, Daichi hears of her father's failed attempts at challenging the Hoenn League, and his regrets in never completing it back in his own day. He makes one selfish wish of his daughter- to complete the Hoenn League and use the fame to jumpstart her own career. [break][break]

Now, with her last remaining pokemon from her last gym circuit at her side and unwilling to listen to her due to the lack of battling for multiple years, and a handful of pokemon caught, or hatched from purchased eggs in preparation for her next challenge, Daichi arrives at the docks of Hoenn with a heavy heart, and a time limit. While her father expected himself to expire before Daichi completes his wish, the young woman has no such resignations of her ability to fulfil his dream.
