Factually, Cofragigus are kind of known to trap humans into their coffins and turn them into mummies, probably by sucking out their captive's life force and all that, but Vespa keeps that little fact to herself in face of the apparent panic in the other's face. Which, she can honestly not deny, either, there is something excruciatingly scary about this whole ordeal, but ... There is that and that is it. As much as rationale and reason would make them turn around with nothing to show and nothing to hold onto, there is this foolish feeling of wanting to prove a point, maybe, or - more simply - to see things through. Until the very end. She - they cannot quite now, can they?[break]

But all such thoughts are having their difficulties making it past the young student's life, leaving her only with a somewhat intense stare match with Rosemary in an attempt to convince her of some strange feeling - misplaced heroism, misguided bravery, perhaps - that she cannot even put into real words. But maybe that's all it takes, from one malfunctioning brain cell to another. A bright smile lights up Vespa's whole face upon the eventual caving-in, a huge stone of burden falling off her heart in knowing that she won't have to do this alone. As brave as she may be, there is relief in knowing that in the very least, she won't be the only stupid soul.[break]

"Let's do this-!" she is barely able to vocalise as Rosemary already runs ahead, catching her off-guard, but she is quick to adjust the pace, quickly placing one foot in front of the other - running, running, running, right through the middle of ghostly hands trying to catch them. Fortunately, the Misdreavus is getting the cue in shooing away what she can, Shadow Balls and Shadow Sneaks happening here and there as Vespa also indulges in the occasional scare battle by just ... shouting really loudly. It buys her a second to run the heck forth, at least.[break]

Lunges burning, however, she nearly collapses as they reach the far end - a small chamber of sorts embedded into the corridor, carved into it like a resting ground, adorned with a singular altar. Vespa heeds it no mind at first, only wondering why the Cofragigus, having started their pursuit, now suddenly stop, not daring to come closer. One by one, they even seem to lay back to rest, with some staring warily at the two ... "That's strange behaviour for sure-" she mutters, somewhere between breaths, as she turns to Rosemary.

Her expression must have been comical, an indescribable sound of surprise escaping her when she feels the chill touch on her shoulder - the coldness isn't quite unfamiliar with how she is befriending one Ghost type after another, but this here feels distinct, still, catching her off-guard, like it is a different substance than what she would have associated with her ghostly friends. Strange ... for sure. Definitely makes it clear that this isn't necessarily a ghost, or not the type of ghost she is used to.[break]

A real 'monster' (whatever that word means, now)?[break]

Still, steeling her nerves, Vespa grins into the camera like a fool on the chopping block, though it's also not like she feels as if she's in danger. In fact, for as terrifying this presence looked, he almost ... comes off as amicable. At least now - at least here. Once photography got involved, anyway. The thought even makes her grin more genuinely as she looks at the selfie, then to the other, an easy "thanks, man!" escaping into the chill night as shadows merge with shadows once more.[break]

"You, too!" Vespa gives the stranger a wave, unaware just who she has been conversing with ... For now, she is only humming a tune or two, looking through the spooky images and, as one may be indulged to do, posts the best one to the social media consciousness.

Attempting to do somewhat of a salute, her steps are quick to pick up as the other only demands her to keep pace, and that is something she can (probably) do, boosting her confidence and own enthusiasm about this place quite a bit. "Aye! Don't worry, I'm quick on my feet," she hums in turn, eyes yet wandering over the desolate place, their voices yet echoing far an further in this place. "Oh, and I'm Vespa! Likewise," she remarks, looking over to her ghostly companion, "and that's Quinn - Quinn Crisp, in fact." In greeting herself, the Misdreavus floats into the field of view of the other, hanging upside down into the air with a mischievous smile before returning back to the young student's side.[break]

It seems as if their first stop is a barren home, void of much any sign of life. The floor creaks under their weigh, dust weighing heavily in. "Wonder what happened here ... Did people just move away?" she wonders out loud. At first glance, Vespa can't seem to find much, but she cannot shake an uncertain, unsettling feeling ...

There is a distinct wonder about whether or not she is going to, finally, eventually, make it to the end of that one (1) single task that she is supposed to finish before the dawn of the day, but Vespa still finds her eyes going towards the endless dark, wondering whether or not there is meaning in such thing. She doesn't really think much about astrology except for the meme of it, sometimes, and horoscopes are kind of weird and a little creepy sometimes, but ... well.[break]

At least the stars make for a nice late-night distraction when she has given her phone to the Grookey, so he may hug it tightly in his sleep and she won't be able to get distracted from that. Still ... as she fishes for that one book about star charts and constellations she bought on a whim years ago, she wonders. But that thing she is thinking of seeing ... huh. She can't find it - maybe it's too outdated of a copy to have this ... "But it does seem familiar ... like that one guy in the simulation - well, okay, or not quite, but ... but something ..." she mutters to herself, making crude sketches of deformed legendaries she cannot put to name.

Fear is quite a curious sensation - it tends to evoke a false sense of bravery in the young student sometimes, foolishly challenging fate to a duel she is bound to lose. It wasn't fear, however, that lured her to the edges of the tombs, now glaring open as the spirits wake one after another, but some other feeling that is hard to place. What would it even be that she desires? Victory, perhaps, but that is not something that those offering a defeating slumber could offer.[break]

To Rosemary, however, Vespa manages to offer somewhat of a lopsided smile, "Cofagrigus ... and a couple of them." Alongside the other, she tries to find shelter close to the wall, even as the stone can barely conceal them in this open, stringent hallway. Yet, there is something else that catches her eye, what lies past the hallway lined with living resting places ... But it seems like there are but two options - to return the way they came, or to see what lies at the very end.[break]

Pulling Rosemary gently if determined aside for a moment, she whispers, hoping the wild Pokémon won't take notice of them just yet as the Misdreavus keeps an eye on them, "so ... just so we're on the same page, but ... wanna move on? If we run really fast, we could make it past them-" Is it a stupid plan? Probably. Does she have anything else to offer? Absolutely not.

Slowly, she is wrapping her mind around this extremely strange, extremely unfamiliar place - and what started as fear is slowly morphing into something else as she is finally perceiving what is around her, finding anchor in the one other person and Pokémon that doesn't seem to be affected by their strange surroundings. Finally, Vespa is standing up once more, looking around with hesitation, yet newfound curiosity - nodding to the other's agreement to the strangeness of things, and trying to steady her irregular breathing.[break]

"Do you know ... where we are?" she wonders out loud, finding relief in the fact that either, the Misdreavus either looks unaffected or pretends to be, perhaps for both of their sakes. "Never happened to me before-" she remarks then, before checking her phone also, hissing a little under her breath as she finds the same situation as the stranger. Nothing to reach in here, as it seems.[break]

However, not all seems lost as the other points out something, Vespa's neck tilting and stretching to look up. That's ... "Not really, but what the heck-" she mutters aloud, eyes blinking at the door above them. How are they going to reach it? But then again, it's not like logic will make them reach places. "So, uh ... any plan? You mentioned that movie?"

Rubbing that night's sleep off her eyes, it seems like slumbering is fruitless as the moon is nowhere to be found, leaving a curious sight to the stars, and the stars alone. Perhaps, she is starting to see things, but looking up from her textbook, she ends up wondering about some kind of myth she heard some kind of where. Was it about Ogerpon? Though, as she muses over the constellations in the sky, there is a distinct wonder. "Looks more silly than threatening ..." Vespa mutters as she observes the sky - groaning the next moment as there is no word to be written in her textbook. Why is homework even a thing?

Caught between the endless cycle of we're so back! and it's so over, her thoughts are ping-ponging back and forth about whether or not she is to die in this moment over having asked such a frivolous thing from a shadowy figure as ghastly as the one in front of her (he looks pretty cool, though, all things considered). Having just had an apology ready to speak, she is surprised to find, however, that the cryptid agrees.[break]

Vespa needs a moment to process that, staring blankly at the other until - wait, yeah, okay, she should rush this now, so he doesn't change his mind, right? And a grin overtakes her face at the prospect of posing with what comes closest to a ghost without being actually a Ghost type, or perhaps this is a ghost ...? It feels rude to ask, though. Brushing unnecessary thoughts aside, she nods, giving him a thumbs-up, "yes! Thanks! It means a lot to me!" - stringing words together that don't appear as coherent, rushed out syllables of the moment.[break]

Fumbling with her camera settings a little, she then moves to stand in even closer proximity to the other, with still a respectful distance, holding her phone up with one hand and forming a peace sign on the other, she says, "say - uh - boo?" Actually, what is the etiquette on taking pictures with eldritch kind of horrors? Errr ... she should check in with her mother, maybe.

Vespa is unable to make a statement on the video game thing because she is too preoccupied with removing the blindfold, once realising that she isn't actually in a dark room, but just ... yea, blindfolded. There goes suspense ..., she thinks to herself, but such thoughts are also quite fruitless in the grand scheme, no? Uh ... better focus on how to get out now.[break]

Closely observing the maps in front of her, she thinks she is able to make out the dot showing her best friend ... at least it's the only one that just stands in front of the door and does nothing else. "Okay, I gotchu on my map ... let's see ... uhh ... wait, the Pokémon aren't on my map ... maybe they aren't important? Wanna make a dash for it? There is no other dot around if you take the - uh - left turn. I need to figure out this map, wait ..."[break]

Swiftly, she pats her pockets for - a-ha! There it goes, her trusted sharpie is revealed to the (alien) world and she has no qualms about dragging the felt tip down the map in order to see where the exit should be. "Honestly, I have no clue, but the best we can do is figure things out here, I guess," Vespa only sighs. This isn't the first strange occurrence of the month, truth be told, and there is still some intrigue left in there ...

The stranger is met with two pairs of a more deadpan expression, while the Grookey is looking as happy as ever, shaking his wooden stick out in a sort of greeting, just as Vespa contemplates what to say in turn. Well ... one could probably argue that Ghost types are something other than the ghostly spirits left behind by humans - of course, if one were to subscribe to such an idea ... How interesting.[break]

"Hm ... I see," she remarks at last, gesturing for the Misdreavus to follow as she decides to follow the stranger, "I guess that is one way to see it. I'm Vespa, by the way. Can I tag along?" Though she wonders if she isn't just a nuisance, there is curiosity about the other and whether or not either of them would remain correct. "Personally, I think ghosts could be very real, or at least ... y'know, to a degree. Unless the soul is attached to the body and dies with the same, there should be something immaterial left. Maybe? I think. I read it in a book," she chitchats freely, perhaps to sully out the oppressive silence of this place where each footstep echoes louder than ever.

Still observing the night sky from her room in Slateport City, it's hard to discern much anything against the illuminated lights of such a large city as this one. However, she still thinks she can make out some shapes ... Looking with curiosity, she would definitely not find much genius in her own, rather wondering how people are able to make out anything amidst the floating dots of lights of everything and nothing. "Seems more like make-believe to me ... heh," she hums to herself as she lifts a hand, finger outstretched, as she tries to connect the stars that she can still make out despite.[break]

Amidst the many houses and skyscrapers of this place on earth, she is able to draw something like a Magearna with the help of the stars. Well ... if this is truly the Mythical Pokémon, of course. There are just too many mysteries left to discover about the great unknown of space (and yet, more to discover on the deep dark of the sea).
