tanding above the duo, unaware at first, was the soon-to-be gym leader of lilycove city: arian. adorning a white suit. he, and his pokemon, stood atop of the tall building, which arian had been using to scout from above. he was surprised to find below him, not one but two, rockets. "no way, they're pretty bad at hide-n-seek!" standing upon his right was his trusted knight gallade, on his left the belle of the ball: gardevoir, and finally, the ghost pokemon, gengar. "i didn't think it'd be this easy, but--" intercepted by gardevoir's telepathy, they spoke, sir, you're not thinking of doing what i think you are? arian turned to grace his prince, and said, "come on, let's just do it!" gardevoir merely sighed.

"klefki, front and center!" gardevoir, without order, knew what he was to do. together, alongside gallade, the duo utilized TELEPORT. the group would come to appear in front of marcel maeda and @mimikyu . a simple wave, arian, then, commanded klefki, "perfect cube!" the scenery before them came to be shifted. a luminous square tile, one by one, started to manifest. once the final piece was formed the trio trainers and their pokemon would come to be sealed inside of a strange, pink luminescent cube. this technique was none other than MAGIC ROOM; followed by the usage of magic room FAIRY LOCK came next. manifesting outside of the magic cube were chains and locks, which were a bright pink color. they, too, appeared inside the cube as well.

fairy lock did not work on ghost-type pokemon. so the mimikyu could flee if so chose, but gengar remained on standby in case the ghost-type attempted anything suspicious. for now, the arian's group ignored the hiding ghost-type. "hey!" greeting his trapped brethren, or prison mates even, arian continued with a chuckle, "i'm really glad i ran into you two. don't worry, i'm not here to harm you! i'm just here to talk!" arian quickly stated, holding his arms out and flailing his hands. "no need to be on the offense or anything, i just wanna have a conversation!" arian nervously grinned, hoping that he didn't run into violent rocket members.

"besides," hands on his hip and a deadpan stare, he'd warn them, "good luck calling your pokemon out. this cube prevents items from being used, your pokeball are items. they won't work so, by proxy, they're locked in their cages just the same as we are. i also activated fairy lock to keep any of you from attempting to run or break out of here. of course, if you possess any ghost-type," gengar smiled toward the mimikyu's rag, "i'll have gengar hunt your pokemon down."

arian's exuberant smile returned.

"so let's not do anything reckless, haha! i just have some questions for you guys that i feel you could answer; as long as you answer with honesty and truth, we can all walk out of here as if we never me!" the tips of his fingers came to connect with one another. the blonde blushed, his head lightly tilted, "do you guys like games?"

is right hand gestured to take the shape of a gun's barrel, his left, actingly, held the invisible rifle at her. "bullseye," arian said. she hit the mark. "my seviper here is a prime example. battling is in its blood." a caressing hand stroked the venomous snake's under chin. laying his head softly against the large creatures own whom coiled around his body.

"this slippery guy has to restrain himself when a zangoose, or any pokemon really of great strength, is insight." the seviper locked eyes with the herdier from across the street, lingering for its next battle. "it can't do anything unless i, its trainer, am provoked. as my pokemon it can't falter, it can't break form or else that will show i'm an incompetent trainer..." arian's eyes once held a light in them, only to become hollow-like the next.

seviper made haste. slithering its way toward herdier, "coil." a soft voice spoke, smiling toward the poisonous snake. "poison jab." tossing the herdier into the air after having wrapped itself around the herdier's body with a tightened grip. the herdier was sent into the air, and with his tail a poisonous glow, it would come to be met swiftly with a sharpened jab upon the center of its stomach. rendering the pup unconscious. as herdier was held in the air upon the tip of seviper's blade-like tail, a pokeball was thrown to capture the normal dog.

once inside of the ball seviper, returning with the ball and balancing it upon its tail, came slithering back and delivering the goods. "mr. fernando can't afford to make a mistake. he can't afford to allow himself to slip." fingers caressed the pokeball of herdier, a hollow gaze fixated upon the red orb. "anyone would agree that fernando is a strong man and fit to be champion, would they not? with the stories heard of his feats and actions, a man like him must be hiding something." nuzzling his new friend, he'd add, "ahn, just thinking about what he's hiding is exciting!" placing the ball within his pocket, those hollow orbs became saturated within a vibrant cerulean tone.

placing a finger over his left eye, he'd pull the under eyelid down, "my eye can see all! humans give away a lot of information just by standing still: attitude, gaze, blinking, gestures, sweat, pupils, and pulse. all of these are hints to finding out what you're really thinking. such a technique can be used on the sharpest of minds and even the greatest of trainers; it can even help you in battle. i like to call this gift of mine by a simple name: the king's eye." sticking out his tongue, it was as if, for a split second, his eye became hollow; whereas, for the other, his right eye remained vibrant.

that's right. arian was born with the power of observation. he had a knack to decipher those not through simple words, but other varieties. such a skill has always been with him, even against the strong who tried pass over him. arian is, and always, watching; whether intentionally or not. "be honest with me, persephone, wouldn't it be interesting to undress fernando's inhibition and see the man you admire underneath the surface just as you do on?" hands behind his back, arian, faintly, smiled. eyes analyzing her as they speak.

uickly arian lifted his arms, frantically waving them in a horizontal manner. "no, no, no! i was just wondering is all!" crossing his right index finger over his left arian explained, "i've just heard so much about your time in the field! color me curious, mr. fernando! everyone has their own style, or way even, when it comes to their pokemon and the bond they have!" a sheepish grin and infatuated eyes of curiosity, he continued, "i just wanna know how my mentor views his pokemon! do you view them as family or..." his right hand gestured into a gun, pointing directly as his heart, "...do you see them as something lesser or more?"

e'd fall upon his butt out of shock. "t-that's me!" no way, it was a zoroark! a real life, actual zoroark! arian stood watching the zoroark-arian prancing around. his attention returned to persephone, but before he'd grace persephone with a response. arian, without hesitation, summoned seviper from his ball. "seviper, poison tail; coil!" slithering past the female without waste, a klefki would come to be assaulted by seviper's poisonous blade.

coiling its tail around the key ringed pokemon, another command was, then, given, "toss it!" the pokemon was thrown into the air. "here i go, haha!" tossing the pokeball. the ball, slamming into klefki, would absorb the fairy-type with haste. catching it and placing the ball into his pocket, seviper slithered back to arian's side. patting the snake, he'd respond, "not really! mr. fernando's a great mentor, but he's very cold at times. it's like he's always on edge yet trying not to show it. i don't know much about mr. fernando, but i know enough that he has his moments of where you can see a different side of him." arian casually tossed seviper's ball in his hand.

"i hear a lot of women talk amongst the casino about how 'councilman fernando is so brave' and how 'councilman fernando is so handsome', it's nice to know there are people that admire him for his flaws and all. i just admire him because he's an interesting guy!" catching seviper's ball in his hand once more, he'd raise it to the sky. "do you know what the word 'inhibition' means?" arian would ask persephone.

grin, he'd casually wave off the comment. "no, no, you got it all wrong. i just have a knack for helping the pokemon i come across from time to time. it's no difference compared to helping a human." looking over his shoulder, he'd add, "plus, my pokemon are an extremely bad match up for dark-type. so i come here to every now and then to train them against the darkness. fighting and fairy are great, but my primary utilization are ghost and psychic. dark-types are a bad match for my psychics, but not for my ghost." continuing his explanation during their walk. the trio were soon to meet an unwelcoming guest.

"i came here to train my pokemon inside of this dark forest and the dark-types that harbor in it. there are other ways to fight back against the forces of darkness, like so..." coming to a halt, arian's arm arose in front of delphi. a zoroark stood before them, "it would seem as though we've interrupted a meal." the zoroark's right foot had been pressed down upon the neck of a deino. "gengar, arise!" arian's shadow began to quake, emerging from the depths of darkness was his partner: gengar. "mean look!" the zororark was prepared to flee, but it was locked in place from the sight of gengar's gaze.

"you're not going anywhere, confuse ray!" shadowy, purple sphere's began to dance around gengar. the sphere's, then, sought after zoroark. with success, the dark-type's equilibrium became disrupted. arian, then, finalized his command, "let's hit it with night shade." emerging a jet-black beam of energy; the linear beam was shot forward. a crimson outer lining, the black beam slammed directly into the zoroark's gut. it wasn't enough to truly damage, but it still received minimal injury. "here we go, capture!" tossing the ball capsule at the pokemon. it would come to absorb the dark-type, leaving the deino for @delphi to care for.

n unexpected response. arian, sheepishly, grinned, "just be ready to go all in!" and to their surprise they'd come to meet an absol. delphi, quickly, befriended them. arian knew, without a doubt, that an absol had been the sign for a disastrous occurrence. they possessed quite the gift when it came to sensing bad luck, a white devil only able to sense the bad and never the good.

"good job obtaining a new friend. you really have the talent for it." before they could continue their walk a delcatty appeared before the group. "we meet again, delcatty." arian softly smiled. this wasn't his first time, but he knew of the normal-type standing before them. the delcatty nuzzled her head against his leg, arian kneeled to pat it. "i helped this delcatty evolve once during my time training in this forest, it evolved when we found a moon stone!" a jovial expression. arian hugged the cat until he could hug no more. "i told you i'd come back, have you finally decided to come with me?" the delcatty had finished her own ordeals and was now ready to come with the trainer. pulling out a single ball, he'd say, "in you go!" tapping it lightly upon the head, the cat was absorbed into the ball.

with his first catch out of the way, he'd stand and continue their traveling. "alright, let's try to clear this forest as soon as possible; i brought you in here to catch pokemon, but that absol's forewarning has made me a bit hesitant." something unfriendly lived here. he hadn't a clue as to what it was, but he didn't wish to stick around and find out.

urum defeated alexander? a surprise. he never knew the duo to have battled one another. "ah..." being surprised wasn't the proper word to describe arian's expression to learning this information. "aurum, huh..." a hollow stare at the mention of his brother, he'd come to turn his focus back onto alexander as he explained the new technology he was soon to experience. "y-yeah, okay!" arian jovially replied. releasing combusken and riolu from their respective pokeball, he'd call the duo to stand alongside one another.

the relationship between the duo was pretty clear the second they saw one another. riolu, nonchalantly, looked elsewhere; whereas combusken fixed his sights upon the opposite direction, folded arms showcasing how unhappy he was to be with the male dog. "it's pretty clear that they don't get along." arian chuckled. "i can't tell whether it's due to typing or they generally find one another to be unpleasant." walking toward the battle facility, he'd continue their discussion as the pokemon followed behind.

"i doubt it's due to typing. i think they're both fighting because combusken sees riolu as a challenge, and i keep expressing how we're a family and that no one's better than the other. but i don't think it's getting through to combusken, and riolu's disinterest to have a rivalry with combusken infuriates him." a deep sigh, arian would add, "their relationship is so complex really." alexander, then, pulled out an experience share from his pocket. handing it to arian to his surprise. "h-how convenient that you keep these on your person." he examined the item with starstruck eyes. enamored with its design.
