Oh he was hunky AND curteous? What a catch. Goro kept his smile plastered on his face as he took the man's hand. The man - Roscharch was the name it would seem - was even concerned for Saint Vincent! Dusting his dust colored clothes off, Goro ran a hand through his curls, upsetting the camoflauged Keckleon who scurried down his back and returned to her position of clinging to his calf.

Goro offered both of them the same sly smile as before when names started being exchanged. "Oh lil' Saint is fine, you just startled her and I'm doing alright, haha." He said before introducing himself, "And I'm Buck Esterandé, from Kalos originally." Buck from Kalos, or Bucky as Goro liked to call this particular persona, was in no way at all connected to Rocket, Cipher, or any other "villainous" team. He found having citizenship to wear from a place not known for developing technology to make pokemon turn into... Monsters was a good thing.

His eyes danced between the two of them as he awaited their answers. "And you two? Hoenn nativ-" Goro asked with his charm on max or tried to before Cait had to leave. "Oh, ah, farewell!" He returned his attention to Roscharch when his cell began to ring. "Shit." He muttered, before offering his own farewell. "Truly a pleasure to meet you, but it seems I must be off too." Goro said a with a dip of the corner of his mouth.

What was she, a detective? He wondered to himself. Goro usually left this kind of... intellectual work to others and found it interesting to be on the other side. Interesting, but not compelling. As he followed the girl - Erin - around he found himself more and more intrigued by his own pokemon. A Lickitung really was quite the curious creature. Its enormous tongue allowed it to taste - no! Comprehend entirely unique flavors. What an ability. Goro imagined being able to taste his own scent. Was it as sweet as vanilla ice cream? Or maybe something spicy, like a jalepeño?

Goro vaguely remembered something being said about a garden and he just knew JB would want to get a taste of everything. To everyone's - or maybe just his own as Goro really hadn't been paying attention - a lone Scrafty held the fish in hand and had quite literally been caught in the act. "Go first!" Goro barked, dropping to a squat on the flats of his feet. He looked like a pokemon himself, but his own was in action instead of sitting around. The Scrafty had intended a quick slap of the face but with Jack Black gaining a certain glint to his eyes, the Lickitung acted first and with more strength than was expected. His pink tongue left a sloppy imprint on each cheek of the Scrafty and left it blinking in confusion as it flinched.

His trainer didn't even get a chance to order a second command as the training they had worked on previously. An opening was available as the Scrafty flinched, and Jack Black chipped away at its defenses; allowing the final stroke to be had as the pink pokemon used a power whip like motion with its tongue to KO the thieving beast. Goro approached the scene with haste and gave the Magikarp a punt with the tip of her boot and sent the fish flying into a small stream of the garden. The pokemon safe, Goro tossed a pokeball at the Scrafty. If it could snatch a pokemon from underneath management, sure it could help Goro with his Rocket work.

More importantly, he gave his Lickitung a silly grin and patted the pokemon the head. "You did great, JB!" He applauded. Goro turned to face Erin, still smiling, "Did you see him? Now THAT was impressive."

Goro was rubbing at the bridge of his nose, his LIckitung blissfully unaware of what was going on as his tongue trailed along beside him encircling Goro in a saliva circle when Erin asked her question. He sighed and stated simply as he rose, "No, he tasted something... fishy." Albeit he was annoyed with JB's incompetence, Goro couldn't resist the pun. His smirk replaced the annoyed scowl from earlier as he added, "He didn't really give us anything helpful, so we may as well follow your lead." And the both of them promptly began to follow Erin.

Besides, she was the one who asked HIM to come along so, in Goro's mind, she needed to do the work. Plus, he was still feeling some kind of woozy hangover from the pokemon battle he had earlier.

Goro absolutely hated being on the receiving end of a surprise. After the bunny pokemon went trotting away, he felt a sudden chill run down his spine and his breath began to slow. "W-wHaat?" Goro asked, words slurring and a soothing calmness overcoming him. It was then that a malicious giggle revealed a pair of pale eyes, a wicked grin, and floating claws; it was a Haunter. Goro could already feel his eyelids getting heavy and his legs straining to keep his body up. Sleep was slamming into him like a train blowing full steam ahead and he only managed to get one word out before he stumbled to the ground, "Attack."

The Haunter clapped its hands gleefully as Goro slumped on the sidewalk, the Human's face in the ground and buttocks sticking straight up; oh boy was it a sight to see, and more importantly, a delicious meal. Yet, just as the ghost pokemon went over to feast on her well earned meal, a shadow came rushing out of the ground and smacked it in the face. As the Haunter rubbed its now bruised face, she watched as the shadow retreated towards a once camouflaged Keckleon. Enraged, the Haunter rushed at Saint Vincent who was busy sticking her tongue into the ear of her trainer.

"HRU-huh-mpH WHAT?!" Goro exclaimed as he woke to his Kecleon fending off the Haunter with a claw cloaked in shadows. The move was enough to get the Haunter to back off as it bore its teeth at the two of them. The ghost pokemon was also trying to escape as its form began to fade to nothingness. Mad he'd almost been made a meal of, Goro fished around on his utility belt for a pokeball and hurled it at the Haunter. "And THAT'S what you get for messing with me!" He proclaimed, standing up and giving Saint Vincent a congratulatory pat on the head. The pokeball wobbled to and fro, blinking red and white on occasion for a few moments, as the capture was determined.

so i mentioned this in chat somewhere earlier, BUT i want goro to go around like a) doing rocket shit but also b) getting all the gym badges under his belt bc like,,, Orre doesn't have gyms and he thinks the idea is v cool??? also he is super gay and (like with cait) the idea of him just happening to run into the gym leader in fortree at idk <insert generic place here> ~~coffee? bookstore? pokecenter? etc??~~ would be a great way for them to meet and like idk maybe they could go on a DATE or BATTLE then go on a DATE. there are my thoughts. also he is very much using an alias.

Now that was a surprise. Goro had been continuing his casual stroll down the sidewalk when Saint Vincent dug her webbed finger (toe?) things into his head. Hard. "What are you doi-" Goro began, before he was face to face with a Lopunny. She, he, it? was calm and seemed to belong to someone given its friendliness with Humans. It went even far enough to reach out a paw to touch Goro. Cute. Saint Vincent, however, was not a fan of this.

In the blink of an eye, her long retractable tongue flung out and slapped the bunny pokemon's paw away and it backed off. Hurt? Physically, no, emotionally? Probably. On the upside, at least that means his ~~stolen~~ Kecleon was beginning to like him! Or maybe was being territorial; regardless, it was definitely an improvement. As for the Lopunny... Goro watched it hop away back towards some house - probably its owners. Coulda, woulda, shoulda was his mindset when it came to things like this. Yes, he was technically supposed to be stealing pokemon to sell on the black market as a Rocket agent and Arceus knows how much a trained Lopunny would have gone for (there are some freaky people out in the world) but Goro didn't want any part of that trade.

If he was going to steal a pokemon it was going to be for him. With that revelation made, Goro continued his walk along the Hills of Mauville.

The little run in with the city's Gym Leader had Goro feeling a few types of ways: first, he wanted to crush her. Imagine that, him, a criminal, rising through the ranks of the league and getting all the badges his grubby hands could get it. Second, he and his pokemon were in some dire need of training - and perhaps some new allies. So while he explored the city of Mauville, it really was a maze of sorts, he would keep an eye out for new pokepals.

Or, ah, tools. That was always what Cipher, and now Rocket, had taught him to think of his pokemon. Even the chameleon pokemon who cluck to his head (for no apparent reason than to bother him) was supposedly only a tool for Ciph- Rocket to further their goals. His goals now, he supposed. A soft sigh escaped his lips as the pair traversed the well lit paths of Mauville Hills. It was apparently the higher class area of the city, and Goro could see that easily. Gentrification, or perhaps modernization, had taken over whatever was once here. Maybe the two would get a glance of what once called the Hills home before humans destroyed its habitat.

Goro couldn't help but smirk at Erin's comment. Mr. Right. HAH. His love life was full of regret, rage, and sorrow; there was never anything "right" about him getting involved. He'd play along of course. It wasn't every day you get someone falling for his wily - if not stupid - charm. "Bucky it is then." He quipped before listening on the very vague details his partner in NOT crime had to tell him. They were looking for something... wet. Okay, well, yes that made sense.

Speaking of wet and potentially useless, Goro turned his attention towards JB who was currently just licking away at the marble slab that made up the outer rim of the fountain. Almost like an ice cream cone. If it wasn't his pokemon he may have found the whole ordeal disgusting, but training pokemon with abnormally long tongues seemed to be a theme ~~curse~~ for him so Goro just went along with it. Approaching the pink chewed up bubble gum pokemon, he asked, "Got any kind of lead?"

JB promptly blew him a rather sloppy raspberry before using his tongue to draw the shape of.... a fish. A very basic symbol of a fish. That was it. Nothing else. Sighing and palm to his face, but careful not to mess with his goggles, Goro asked, "Anything else?" He looked back towards Erin with a shrug, this little fish fiasco was going to be more difficult than he thought.

It was true that Goro had barely bat an eye at the other bystander who had been hit by the same truck of a man, but at the mention of Gym Leader his interest peaked. There weren't any Gym Leaders, or much if any League activity in Orre and he'd always wondered what one would be like in person. He had always assumed them to be celebrities with the media and paparazzi following their every mvoe but this one - Cait she had said her name was - was alone, not even an enterauge to follow behind. How boring.

Goro stuck his head around the massive man in front of him and said with a friendly smile, "Well, like I said earlier, I'm from Kalos originally haha." He had added a bit of Kalosian twang to his speech hoping it would lead further into his alter identity. "But, if we are talking specifics I'm from Lumiose City! The city of lights." He added, with a flashy smile. Goro wasn't even sure if people called it that, but it sounded pretty. "But tell me more about yourself, Cait, was it? I've never met a Gym Leader before." He added, looking the girl in the eyes.

With his pokemon doing... something potentially useful, Goro turned towards Erin and offered a cheesy grin and ruffled his curls back into place around his goggles. "The name's Buck Esterandé, but you can call me Bucky. Or Mr. Righteous. Whichever you'd like Mademoiselle Erin." He offered with a little wink at the end. Buck was from Kalos so might as well use some of that Kalosian language class he took for a year or two in high school to keep the gimmick going.
