[attr="class","yorkc3"]Jay-Z, the Scrafty, mistook the egg pokemon for a snack and almost snuck off for a well deserved brunch before it started to move. Freaked out, he brought it to Goro who promptly captured the adorable little guy. Goro still isn't sure what he has in plan for the baby pokemon but surely he can put it to some use.

A final soft flash of red light from the ball as it teetered back and forth was the final confirmation that the deviant Smeargle was his. Nice. Goro swiped the ball up, gave Jay a congratulatory pat on the head (which earned him a glare from the Scrafty) and they were on their way once more. It was a slow, HOT, walk to the gate and Goro was eager to be out of the Safari Zone. It was an, um... experience to say the least, but maybe all the SWEATING would make it look like he actually did something besides have rocks thrown at him.

Jay, on the other hand, seemed on edge. He kept looking into the bushes, squinting his eyes, before moving forward. Goro nearly ran into the little thief a few times. "Come on, lil' guy, let's go. It's hot, I'm hot - duh - and you're probably hot (imnotreallysure?) So whatever it is tha-" Goro had begun to say to get the pokemon moving at a faster pace only to be interrupted by an EXPLOSION of sulfurous smelling white beats of... "Egg?!" Another egg bomb came flying through the air as the assailant revealed themselves: a Chancey.

And again, Jay was quick to act. He shoved Goro off to the side and went charging towards the Chancey... and skidded to a stop, sending a sand attack straight to the pink pokemon's face. Enraged, the Chancey hurled another devastating bomb... but missed! It was all the opportunity Jay needed. With the Chancey trying to get the sand out of her eyes, Jay crunched on her soft flesh - a high pitch squeal and flinch following. Then he used his strength like one would rock climb. Dazed and rumpus to the ground, Jay let out a loud "SCRAAAAAAAAAFTY!" and threw a rock at Goro, then repeated the action at the Chancey.

"What the fu- Oh. OH! Oh, yeah, okay yes I can do that." Goro muttered as he found his last Safari ball and hurled it over Scrafty's head to the dizzy Chancey.

Goro grinned at Vera's giggle and offered her a quick "Break a leg!" when she went off to audition. He didn't really know what to expect, but hey, she kept his attention so maybe the people in charge of casting or whatever will see what he saw. At least he hoped so because then he would know someone when he got the role. Ah, yes, that ~~fake~~ self-confidence left a bittersweet taste in his mouth like a tart berry.

Soon enough, Goro was called in by the same pale-faced girl. He followed her to the back, read off the determined line or two, and waited a few minutes while those who made the decisions, well, made some decisions. Lo and behold, he got the gig! Goro dipped his head in gratitude and went out to wait for them, as he had been one of the last to secure a spot for callbacks. He saw Vera when all eight of them were summoned and returned the quick wave she gave him.

It wasn't long until they got their roles. He was the ~~hunky~~ ex-boyfriend with not a trace of a Kalosian accent (they ate that up, just utterly enthralled by his ability to switch accents. if only they knew the truth!) and her the supportive BFF. With the script memorized, Goro followed along:

EX-BOYFRIEND looks to BEST FRIEND, lips pursed, at the question: "Drunk? Or do you mean hurling chunks? Because the answer is no, she didn't say much."

EX-BOYFRIEND, pain and hurt in eyes as they flick to the waves crashing on the shore: "She thought I was her current boyfriend. She kept trying to.."

EX-BOYFRIEND, gulps: ".. Kiss. Or dance. Or whatever. I knew she wasn't herself then."


EX-BOYFRIEND sighs, and looks to BEST FRIEND: "Why'd you let her get like that?"

Wow, he was so talented.

The safari ball dinged softly as it indicated the successful capture of the egg pokemon and Goro let out a "Woot!". He didn't even have to battle the little thing! Although, he couldn't be too sure about how Jay felt on the situation. The Scrafty went back to kicking rocks and sturring the dirt into clouds of ~~teenage~~ angst. Goro shrugged and tugged at the collar of his shirt: it was still hot and humid, and with the togepi his to raise, he was ready to go.

Both of them followed the wall along the perimeter of the Safari until they could just barely see the door. Goro was drenched in sweat and Jay had quite the collection of rocks. It was then that they accidentally came upon some graffiti in progress. A Smeargle was painting... something, Goro really couldn't tell what it was (but who was he to critique!), but Jay seemed enraged by the mural. He threw some rocks at the art pokemon before slapping it to make it flinch, a fake out one could say, and then charging into the Smeargle with enough force to rock climb. The one-two combo left the Smeargle in a daze and Goro quickly threw a safari ball at it.

Jay tossed the rock towards Goro, hoping it would hit his newly made "trainer" but the stone missed. Goro called out, "Watch it! Almost hit me with that..." Of course, that had been the point, but the Scrafty crept deeper and deeper into the underbrush until he came upon a delicious discovery. An egg of some reckless pokemon, the thieving pokemon thought; yet, the closer he got to the tri-colored egg, the happier he began to feel. Not the joy he would have found from eating or just plain old stealing the pokemon. Curious and somewhat at odds with his usual brooding demeanor, he brought the egg to Goro who was calling out for him in a totally different bush.

The egg wrapped underneath his arm, and his trainer looking at the two with confusion, the Scrafty presented the weird prize to Goro. "Huh, is that a..." He began before a gasp escaped his lips and the pokemon yawned adorably. Goro tickled the thing before gently plopping it on its head with a safari ball. "Awwwwww." He assumed it would work, what with rumors that one would get good luck upon waking a togepi.

The damned bleach and silver dye was clinging to his hair for longer than he had thought. The act of being the weird kid from Kalos was also getting on his nerves, and his pokemon were a hot mess. The Haunter needed a leash basically, the Scrafty was even worse (cutting purses like he was mowing a lawn), and his poor Frogadier had to keep them all under control. Goro - no, Bucky - ran a hand through his bleached hair as he walked the forested area outside of the city it was named for Fortree.

Once they were outside the general vicinity of the city, Goro released all three pokemon. "You two," He began, glaring at Betty and Jay, "Have twenty minutes to go buck wild. Freddie, keep an eye on them. I'm going to try and relax." Goro finished, pulling out a pre-rolled joint of, ah, a special herb to calm his nerves. Peace at last. Using a pretty lighter, it had a cute little Torchick on the cover, to get the smoking going Goro took a long drag and sat his ass on the nearest stump. Arceus knows he needed this. He was going to some stupid audition soon and he didn't need his nerves bothering him. Lost in the haze, Goro didn't even hear the approaching sound of twigs and the like snapping.

Call him crazy, but Goro would have sworn there'd be more people about. Who wouldn't want to go out on a semi-expensive trip to a sweaty swamp bug ridden gate enclosed Safari! Sign him up! Which, unfortunately, he did to himself. Muttering about the sheer stupidity of it all, Goro glanced at his newest partner, the scrappy Scrafty.

He was inspecting a rock. Probably to steal, the scoundrel.

Why would a devishly handsome man from Kalos come all the way to Hoenn, Goro thought. "For the, ah, experience of traveling." He answered both the girl's and his own question. Not a particularly good answer but it was one nonetheless. "And, of course, to deal with these dastardly - ah - who is it again? Team Missle? Team Torpedo?" Goro added with his false Kalosian accent, scratching at his dark scruff. "Non, Team Rocket! Those bastards." He cried dramatically and closed his eyes.

Before opening one and offering the girl a twisted grin. "You like, eh? I really think this will help land me the part. My, er, agent, yes talent agent, always said I've had a flare for dramatics." Goro said, chuckling at his own joke. Flare. Like Team Flare. Wooh he was on fire today. Puns aside, he was wondering when they'd get to him and be done with all these pebbles. They had the prime choice steak with him around. Wow, Goro just loved himself enough to think about it in third person.

Well, that was a tad awkward, so Goro joined her in laughing, his own a chuckle with a bit more vibrato and bass than usual. Bucky was gonna have a DEEP masculine tone he decided right then and there. He glanced down at the translucent pokeball where the Haunter looked admittedly pissed and thought it best to keep her hidden. Who knows what havoc she could cause if freed. "She eez a bit of a trouble maker, zat one." Goro offered with his Kalosian accent in full force.

He ran a hand through his colored hair, thankfully no silver clung to his hand and offered it to her. "From Kalos, originally, mademoiselle. Yourself?" He was getting better at the accent, he thought, and his voice was a deep warm tone. He really hoped he could keep the Kalos thing going. It was a true test of his acting abilities, and besides, if he could survive to be an acrobat in the circus what was a simple audition?
