LILLIAN GLASS
BATTLEFRONT 2: TRAIN STATION
POSTED ON Oct 27, 2018 22:46:35 GMT
as things around lillian speed up she does her best to focus in. stretching yourself thin on a battlefield is a grave mistake. send your pokemon too many places, try to accomplish too many goals, or let your mind wander to too many situations and you risk losing sight of the things right in front of you. so she gives the events around her attention enough to recognize they're happening. the boy who fights the fires, the new grunt that comes roaring onto the scene, and the attacks on the trains. but then she zeroes back in on her chosen task.
she smiles watching the masked stranger. he doesn't give her the same respect she gives him. sure his eyes rest on her but his focus? obviously not. he sends one pokemon to continue assaulting the trains and yet another to go assist a teammate (reveals that he has another pokemon and what it is). this leaves only his infernape to protect his person, and against three opponents.
needless to say, lillian doesn't feel intimidated by the display. machamp continues to move her towards the grunt without hesitation. she pulls another pokeball from her jacket and rolls it in her hand.
"dance, petunia."
when she gives the order to her butterfree it's with a quiet voice and an almost innocent smile. like before the pokemon picks up on her meaning quickly and gets to work. it glides through the air in a scripted pattern, wings twitching rhythmically.
a QUIVER DANCE to rouse its spirits before what comes next. of course that movement prompts the infernape to respond. it fires off what would be a fatal FLAMETHROWER if not for lillian's reaction.
the pokeball in her hand is activated and from within bursts her lapras. the approaching flames and a wave from lillian's hands lets it know what it has to do. a HYDRO PUMP soon meets the FLAMETHROWER head on. they clash for only the briefest of moments before the fire is overwhelmed. no longer a threat, it serves as nothing but a guiding track to the monkey that belched it up.
at her side butterfree makes the move infernape so rudely interrupted. beating its wings it creates a shimmering SILVER WIND that quickly rushes in the direction of their opponents.
the QUIVER DANCE makes sure it'll do more than sting, but in reality damage isn't the point. the attack is merely a carrier for the real danger -- the STUN SPORE and SLEEP POWDER that previously coated butterfree's wings.
the POISON GAS begins to descend but lillian is too deep into the station to notice it yet. her focus remains squarely on the fight ahead of her.
