Two Tyrogue are deep in a fist-fight. There's a power struggle and Thea sticks around to observe. She takes notes, records a short video on her phone. There's likely something in the battle that she can use to educate her students.[break][break]

There's always more to learn, after all. And, as quickly as the scuffle begins, it ends in a truce. With neither being the victor, they eventually make up and pair off to explore together.

Thea catches sight of a fluffy tail parting the grass like the sea. Tall, pointed ears rise above the foliage to peer at her, but the Pokemon startles immediately. With a duck and a dive, the Flareon disappears into the grass and around the bend of a tree.[break][break]

The woman doesn't choose to pursue, but she chuckles softly.

Without the protection of a LIGHT SCREEN, the retaliation hit is too much. Claws find purchase in the Drifblim's exterior. Had it been a real balloon it might have punctured.[break][break]

Regardless, the point-blank COPY-CATTED SHADOW BALL is a direct hit. The blast sends them apart and Eva crashes to the ground, defeated. Thea blinks in surprise at the outcome, taking a moment to understand what had just happened.[break][break]

But she ultimately feels herself relax from severity into relief. The woman returns the Drifblim to its pokeball before looking up at Marcel and his Sylveon.[break][break]

"I'm impressed! Sylveon's speed and defensive counters were incredible."[break][break]

She begins to approach him at this point.

There is, admittedly, a moment of slight panic at the sight of the giant teddybear. It stands just off the beaten path, encouraging Thea to backtrack and come back later. There was no sense disturbing such an emotionally unstable beast - and she certainly didn't need to see a chiropractor anytime soon.[break][break]

While it lumbers off in search of less intelligent prey, Thea resumes her walk.

Sobble are a tricky bunch, too shy to properly introduce themselves. It's because of this particular Sobble's timid nature that Thea passes it by. The Pokemon is virtually transparent in the water, and with no ripple in it as she passes, Thea is none the wiser.[break][break]

The moment she leaves, of course, the Sobble springs out and resumes whatever activity it partook in when not under the scrutiny of humans.

The feeling of something watching her, or maybe sensing her, brings Thea to turn around and look over her shoulder before the stranger speaks. But his greeting is not ignored. In fact, the woman smiles softly and dips her head.[break][break]

"Good afternoon. I wasn't expecting company."[break][break]

She glances back at the Pumpkaboo who has apparently picked a fight with a territorial Salandit. He and several other of his kind hiss and spit at the base of some sort of tunnel. Thea waves for the ghost-type to come away from the danger, leaving the Salandit to their work.

Delphox lingers by the front door only until the exit becomes blocked. It quickly becomes impossible to see through the blackening smoke, her psychic senses struggling to find anything moving within.[break][break]

And yet she doesn't leave because the man hasn't returned. Instead, she begins searching the roof, the windows, any possible outside exit. If the front door was no longer an option, he must be looking for something else.[break][break]

Sure enough, she watches as he crashes through the window, aiming to fall to the ground. The angle of his body and the Mantkyke's is concerning and it's only due to quick reflexes and instinct that they don't shatter bones in the fall.[break][break]

There's physical strain in the dual-type's expression as she cushions their fall herself with whatever remained of her psychic strength. The moment they touch the ground she seems to slump before running to escort them from the flames. [break][break]

With the fire licking at her backside and a barrier between it and them, they would have a few moments to escape with her close on their heels.

In her wake, Thea has left slight imprints in the tall grass. Blades of grass sweep up her dress and her fingers brush the soft tips. On occasion she pinches the stalks between her fingers, tugging strands into the palm of her hand to pick at.[break][break]

She travels with a Pumpkaboo who bounces around in the grass ahead of her. It seems delighted to be out and about, and she keeps an eye on it thanks to its soft glowing belly.[break][break]

"Not so far, Pumpkaboo. I can't see you if you stray too far."

Her shoes scuff the dirt and she glances from time to time at the floating balloon hovering next to her. On occasion Eva's tendril-like arms would brush her shoulder. A simple comfort, and one that Thea had come to appreciate.[break][break]

When the blimp disappeared, however, it was usually because she had found something to play with.[break][break]

In this case, Thea now glances about in search of her companion, who had almost certainly discovered something.

The pokeball, once cold, is now warm. She squeezes it gently in her hand before setting it aside in her pack. In the process, she grabs a granola bar of some kind and opts to nibble at it.[break][break]

Her walk continues and she passes a Psyduck swimming swiftly against the current in a nearby stream. It seems to be thoroughly enjoying itself. She smiles a bit as she makes her way past.
