an empty hospital is usually a sign of impending disaster, some say.

mcflurry wasn't sure if that applied here. she wasn't sure of anything, given the fact she was barely conscious and unable to think properly given the only-partially stymied blood loss.

literally, the only thing keeping her blood from exiting her body further was the frozen block of ice currently covering her shoulder. and the huge caltrop spike attack lodged directly into her shoulder.

brown blood and white pus was melting out of place as mcflurry was rushed into the clinic, floated along by a WORAMADAM's PSYCHIC usage.

faded eyes would barely graze over wendy's, mcflurry's face looking incredibly pale while the veins near her injury bulged. definitely infected. blood loss imminent. but with how her arms was twitching and flexing, no permanent nerve damage.

as dominic disappears behind the tail of a woman and marcel loses himself -- somewhere, mcflurry's left wondering what the hell the purpose of all this was.

reassignment? intel gathering on the lower ranks? ...intimidation? mcflurry didn't know. she can't fathom what goes on in the upper echelons' heads, what drama they might have.

she just knows her gut feeling. her gut feeling tells her marcel's trying and failing, and dominic never tries. and honestly, that sort of company is an absolute downer for a club like this.

when invited to leave, mcflurry takes it with a sigh, nodding at marcel. but, before she goes --

"uh. if you need to mccontact me... feel free. i guess. i dunno about that mcother guy, but."

she pauses.

"you're at least a... a little mccool."

and then mcflurry disappears into the crowd to lose her problems in dancing, drinks, and a partner for the night if she's lucky.

mcflurry taps her chin.

"i'm... no, not really. but if we knock the magikarp out, mcmaybe..."

mcflurry trails off, easily deferring to elijah for his plan, automatically considering it better after months and months of her own plans being put down.

compared to elijah, she feels much more comfortable in the casino. mainly because, if anything, mcflurry was a creature of pleasure, outside her missions. an entertainer and a socialite, as well. this felt right at home.

...well, she wasn't rich, but. the drinking, the lights, the careless people and their silky skin peeking through their clothes -- that's familiar.

mcflurry takes his arm and they saunter along closer to the prize vault, with mcflurry giving smiles to employees and a flirtatious grin to old men who look like they have money.

in her element.

soon enough, they're at the door, and the shadows of the guards pass into a back room. it's completely unguarded.

"er... mcpretend you're, uh. talking to me about my pokemon."

when he does, she releases her ALOLAN GOLEM. the red recording lights of the security camera shut down as the hardware gets fucked up by its MAGNET PULL.

mcflurry is left with a dry throat, nervously clapping. it feels like she's gasping for air where she should be breathing. two legendary pokemon? and an ultra beast?

does rocket not know what they could do with this? how much they could hurt people? they have to. they plan on using it, even. to take over hoenn.

mcflurry only took this job because she had no other option. and now, she's sick to her core that she's even here. everything about this is wrong to her. she -- she doesn't want to be here.

as the q&a rolls forth and the grunts clamor, mcflurry stands in the back, her gaze locked onto the white of declan's eyes, like a woman possessed.

in an effort to calm herself, she clutches her latest gift from her parents -- from her homeland of fiore, hidden in her pockets. but it may just give her away, as well.

a capture styler with a key stone in it tends to be a bit of a rarity in hoenn, after all.
