It would have been terrible if Mars had been afraid of ghosts.

After all, too much of his time was spent at places where such phantasmagorical creatures gathered and roamed. He had grown used to their presence long ago, and while he knew some people found them disconcerting, he also knew there was no particular reason to fear at all. Pokémon could cause great harm, sure, but what he was more vigilant of was the actions of those who commanded them to cause said harm – in the same way that there was no reason to fear spirits when living people could be such monsters at times.

All these were the thoughts that crossed his mind upon hearing Jayde’s words. But, instead of voicing even a single one of them, what Mars did was smirk at his mission partner. ”I’m not, but I could hold your hand if you are.” Nonchalant as ever, his words threaded the delicate line between flirting and a joke, and while he had a feeling the other man probably wasn’t one to appreciate having someone hitting on him, how could he possibly not do so?
