normally, even people who do not want to be found cannot hide from devon's reach. normally. but the circumstances are vastly different when it comes to a man like fernando silph. for one, he's elusive and has connections of his own. second, it's kanto. it isn't home turf. it seems as though all the odds are against him, so perhaps that is why it upsets him that he wasn't able to find fernando.

or perhaps it is because finding fernando would have meant finding family for stormy.

alexander is soon graced by her gentle touch; he feels her hand squeezing his. "perhaps you're right." though the mystery that surrounds fernando's first disappearance are of a different nature entirely. a part of him suspects the silph heir had no choice the first time around.

"i'll find him if he steps foot in hoenn. until then, we just have to wait, i suppose." 

he doesn't realize it, but he had taken hold of her hand a while ago. with their fingers intertwined, it brings a soothing feeling that calms him. for someone so attentive, he can be as equally naive in other things.

for now, he appreciates her company as he watches the sun set.

For a while, the two sit in silence as the sun finally melts completely into the water. While Alex is inside of his own thoughts, considering her words, Stormy is within her own.[break][break]

She glances at him when he speaks, and she can't help but notice his fingers had interlaced with her own. He seems oblivious to this, or he's putting on a stoic front, pretending that he doesn't know.[break][break]

Stormy's cheeks flush with colour as she hesitantly squeezes his hand. He brings her comfort.[break][break]

"He'll show up when he's ready. I find it hard to believe he abandoned everything Silph stood for."[break][break]

Now that the sun has set, the lumbering figure of her previously sunbathing Torkoal approaches. The quiet beast curls up against Stormy's legs, resting her head comfortably on her thighs. [break][break]

The tortoise breaths a sigh as she falls back to sleep. Stormy smiles a little bit before clearing her throat a little awkwardly. The silence between the two makes her nervous. She doesn't often stay quiet for long periods of time.[break][break]

"It's getting late, I hope I'm not keeping you. I'm sure you have important duties to attend to."[break][break]

the sun soon dips beyond the horizons, taking with it precious sunlight that once graced the humble beach. it's not until darkness looms does he realize how long they had been sitting there for. and how long he had been holding her hand for.

"i do, but they can wait." 

slipping his hand out of hers, he feels a sudden lack of warmth but chalks it up to something else. he rises off his feet and takes a step away from her before dusting off his hands and clothes, ridding himself free of the sand.

alexander offers her a hand, smiling.

"come on. i'll send you home. we can stop for dinner, if you're hungry."
