As conversations intensified on the floor, Elisabeth felt herself grow quiet and meditative at the increased turnout. A single question nagged at her: were these competitors, or potential allies?[break][break]

Her crystal blue eyes flickered from one new participant to the next. Upon seeing The Fixer she glanced away; that one, were she an admin, she would keep an eye on. The woman beside him -- yoshiro shioda, was it? -- looked similarly capable, with steel in her gaze and well-honed muscles. If these exams were a test of fitness and strength, Elisabeth would pale in comparison to them both. Not to mention alongside others like Felix Gallagher and oscar clayton although the latter seemed... a tad worse for wear? Should he have signed up for something like this?[break][break]

Others, like herself, had hidden talents. Despite the puddle of vomit on the floor, she had seen the ingenuity that klaus anchoret possessed firsthand. His mind worked quickly and creatively when engineering was involved; this, too, was a strength Elisabeth herself lacked. She suspected ana fell had similar abilities, though the woman's sharp mind and work ethic was already a point in her favor. And Ceri Glynn -- well. They were a pair of flowers that shared a poisonous secret or two. [break][break]

Her eyebrows rose as she witnessed Izydor Baranowski walk in, then knitted together with disapproval. Had his injuries even healed yet? What was that boy thinking.[break][break]

Others she knew less of. Unknowns were, in some ways, more dangerous than anyone else. You didn't know what they were capable of.[break][break]

Elisabeth glanced up at the observation deck in silence, considering. If she were a betting woman, she wasn't sure which candidate she'd put her money on.[break][break]

AN IMMENSE HEDGE MAZE has taken root outside Fortree City, commissioned by a peculiar old man and erected by Elisabeth Fiorelli, formed of ever-shifting colossal bushes and brambles. These tangle and reform at the whim of the various Grass-type Pokemon that stand sentinel at its every bending curve, ensuring a unique experience for each participant. [break][break]

Adventurers who wish to see what treasures lie inside may try their luck at navigating the maze; however, be advised that precious few will ever know the secret that lies within its mysterious centre. [break][break]

GUIDELINES

INSTRUCTIONS

Please read the following carefully to participate!
Each character may create ONE thread in Fortree City where they enter the maze.
To make this easy to track, please include [MAZE] in your thread title!
In this post, your character must make a decision: do they go LEFT or RIGHT?
In that post, they also must ROLL.
If the number rolled is ODD, the correct path was LEFT.
If the number rolled is EVEN, the correct path was RIGHT.
To successfully find the heart of the maze, you must guess your roll correctively five times in a row.
The moment you guess incorrectly, you exit the maze.
EVERY TIME YOU ROLL, please REPLY TO THIS POST with the format outlined below to document your progress.
Wait for Elisabeth Fiorelli to CONFIRM YOUR PROGRESS before CONTINUING.
You will receive rewards dependent on your total correct guesses!
Even if you fail the first roll, you may claim a participation prize for joining.

THE PATH LESS TRAVELED BY

As you advance deeper into the maze, flowers of every hue blossom and unfurl around you, as if celebrating your passage deeper into the leafy foliage. Sunlight spills forth through the crevices of leaves and branches, at last revealing a Lilligant who stands before you.

She elegantly curtseys with a smile, as if she has been long awaiting your presence. In her leafy hands, she holds a boxed gift:

A choice made together is better than one made alone, indeed. And yet with such high stakes so far into the maze, can you trust your Pokemon to make such a weighty one?

THE HEART OF THE MAZE

The world seems to spread out before you a limitless expanse of greenery as the walls of your path fall away with each step, receding to reveal instead an elegantly appointed courtyard. A beautiful tree flourishes at its centre, where an old man sits in the shade, waiting for you patiently.

The Pansage that is his companion runs up to you curiously, sniffing at you and your Pokemon before chittering and scampering back up the tree from which he came.

"You're the first to arrive," the old man says, pulling himself up from the ground with a cane. "I must say, it took longer than I expected." He totters over to you at a calm, steady pace, chuckling. "Did you find it difficult? I asked that florist to make it challenging indeed, but she might have taken my words too much to heart. Even so, I am glad someone found me here."

He gestures, then, to the enormous tree behind him. "You know what that is?" he says, clasping his hands behind his back as he admires it. "A kasib berry tree. My family has tended to this one in Fortree for generations. They are slow-growing trees, but their berries give great power to the Pokemon that consume them. So there is some responsibility to be had, in who receives such a precious gift."

A brief pause inserts itself in his monologue as he turns to you, saying at last, "@player, I believe you are worthy of such a gift. It would give me great pleasure indeed if you would take one such Kasib berry for your own, for I am growing old, and I have no use for such a thing. But perhaps, as Hoenn faces its most uncertain era yet, someone like you can make a difference with even something as small as this."

The Pansage climbs back down from the tree, your hard-won prize in hand:[break]

The Tsareena stoically endures the curiosity of the much more energetic Eevee, like an elder sibling resigned to playing the part of guardian. At least she's polite about it.

THE PATH LESS TRAVELED BY

The flowery Pokemon beckons towards you with a leafy hand, holding forth yet another box to award you for your efforts:

AS SPRING DRAWS TO A CLOSE, an abundance of roses have blossomed at Fiorelli Floristry of every conceivable colour. To sell the unprecedented bounty of the colourful flowers, a promotion has been put in place by Elisabeth Fiorelli to ensure the roses find recipients throughout the off-season months of summer.[break][break]

Using the ancient language of flowers, you may gift roses of appropriate meaning to others, imbuing each interaction with a specific meaning and significance.

GUIDELINES

INSTRUCTIONS

PLEASE READ the following guidelines carefully to participate![break][break]

You may participate with any character but only redeem a reward prompt once.
Meet the prompts outlined below for each rose with an appropriate IC post.
Only posts written from JUNE 5TH to JULY 31ST 11:59PM PST will count for each prompt.
You cannot use the same thread for multiple prompts.
You must tag a RECIPIENT for each flower: the person that your character interacted with to achieve the prompt.
Every prompt MUST be completed with a DIFFERENT recipient. No doubling up! (Ie, the person you completed the Red Rose prompt with cannot do the Pink Rose prompt with you, and vice versa.)
Reply to this thread using the template outline below to redeem the associated reward for a prompt.
Be sure to fill out the field summarizing the post and how it meets the prompt.
A special reward will be given to those who complete all prompts!

FLOWER PROMPTS

RED ROSE PROMPT: The red rose is a timeless symbol of love. Express your affection towards another character in a post, either in words or action. Note that this love does not need to be romantic in nature, though it can be.

BLUE ROSE PROMPT: The blue rose is a symbol of mystery. Share a secret with another character, or choose to explore something unknown with them, even if it's something as simple as trying something new.

PURPLE ROSE PROMPT: The purple rose is a symbol of regality and splendor. Enjoy some of the finer things in life with another character, such as music, art, food and drink -- or whatever your character personally believes that to be.

BLACK ROSE PROMPT: The black rose is considered a symbol of death and mourning. Grieve a loss, express sympathy for another character, or witness death in some fashion.

COMPLETION OF ALL PROMPTS: Due to the influx of Infinity Energy before the events of the Dawn of the Darkest Day, there have been rare reports of Pokemon learning a newfound move, LIGHT OF RUIN. This rare circumstance has been impossible to repeat in controlled environments.
